LoL Wild Rift Best Support
Take to the rift in Riot Games' newest title, League of Legends: Wild Rift

Which supports are best for helping your team to victory? Find out below.

The support role in League of Legends: Wild Rift is a make-or-break role for the team. In the early game, you help your ad carry safely kill minions for gold and get kills onto the other duo lane, and in late game you make plays to set up good team fights and save your teammates from death.

If you like making stunning plays and helping your team find victory, take a look at this list of the top 10 supports. League of Legends: Wild Rift has plenty of supports to match any playstyle and goal for the game.

10. Rakan

Rakan is not just a self-confident showman, he's Xayah's boyfriend and a very powerful source of initiation for the team. Rakan can jump all over the place, using plenty of crowd control to catch enemies and then bounce away before he takes any damage. If his silly in-game quotes don't make you smile, his play-making ability certainly will.

Rakan uses his skill 2 and ultimate to start fights and set up enemy champions to be killed before they can react. In addition, his skill 3, which allows him to jump to ally champions, gives him plenty of mobility to make sure that he doesn't guarantee his own death by going in first. Rakan also gets benefits, such as a faster recall, when playing with Xayah on the same team, making him a great pick when she's the ad carry.

Why Rakan is a great support:

  • Plenty of crowd control
  • High mobility
  • Stronger with Xayah

9. Blitzcrank

Blitzcrank is one of the first champions you unlock in the game for free when starting, but that doesn't mean he's weak. Blitzcrank is a "catch" support, both figuratively and literally. Blitzcrank snatches enemies from far away and brings them in for his teammates to kill.

Blitzcrank's skill 1 allows him to grab enemies and bring them to him, making it easy for his team to get kills and a lead. His skill 3 and ultimate make sure that his grabbed enemies can't escape, and his skill 2 allows him to easily get into the best position for grabs. Blitzcrank is an easy-to-learn play making support who, in the right hands, can snowball a game to victory.

Why Blitzcrank is a great support:

  • High catch potential
  • Easy to learn
  • Set up kills for teammates

Wild Rift has its musicians in the game, and Sona is one of the best. Her harp, which may not seem like much, gives her magical powers to both heal teammates and hurt enemies. A good Sona is scary, and even as a support she can be a source of damage.

Sona uses her skill 1, skill 2, and skill 3 to do damage, heal allies, and give movement speed respectively. In addition, each third skill is empowered by her passive, making it stronger. Her ultimate stuns enemies in an area of effect, making her an all around strong support for any situation.

Why Sona is a great support:

  • Versatile kit
  • High damage
  • Very useful ultimate

7. Nami

Nami isn't your typical mermaid, looking more like something that wants to drag you down to the bottom of the ocean than normal. That said, she's a great support for players who want to do just that: drown their opponents with crowd control. Nami doesn't need much to set up a good fight, and her skills can make a team fight over before it's started.

Nami's skill 1 and ultimate both knock up enemies in an area of effect, keeping them from retaliating. Her skill 1 does damage to enemies and then bounces to allies to heal, and her skill 3 gives an ally additional magic damage and attack speed meaning that she can help allies secure kills as soon as she stops enemies in their tracks. Nami is a great pick when you want to make sure fights are yours for the taking.

Why Nami is a great support:

  • High crowd control
  • Good ally support
  • Safe positioning

The Aspect of the Sun has come to Wild Rift: Leona is a support like no other. Whereas most support champions want to stick to their allies and help from the sidelines, Leona wants to engage and stick to damage-dealing enemies as long as possible. If you build her as a tank, she'll do her job better than you can imagine.

Leona's skill 3 throws her blade out, making her jump to the first enemy champion it touches. Her skill 2 gives her a shield and does damage in an area of effect, and her skill 1 stuns the next enemy she auto attacks. All of this and her ultimate, an area of effect stun, make her a powerful engage support that can ensure the death of the most important enemy.

Why Leona is a great support:

  • Great engage
  • Hard to get rid of
  • Plenty of crowd control

5. Janna

Janna as she appears in League of Legends: Wild Rift

Watch now: Wild Rift Janna Support Challenger Ranked Gameplay

Janna is a so-called weather mage, which makes sense given that all of her skills use clouds and wind. Janna is a traditional support, using healing, shields, and crowd control to protect her allies. Though she is less of a playmaker than other support champions, Janna is a strong champion to have on the team, as enemies can't do much when a good Janna is present.

Janna's skill 1 shoots a tornado which knocks up all enemies it touches, her skill 2 does damage and slows a single target, and her skill 3 shields an ally and gives attack speed. In addition, her ultimate heals all allies in an area and knocks back enemies. Janna is a strong disengage support, keeping fights from happening until the time is right.

Why Janna is a great support:

  • Strong disengage
  • Good protection for allies
  • Safe positioning

Who doesn't love wielding a massive shield? Braum is the champion for players who want to feel like they are their ad carry's guardian, blocking all damage and saving the day. Braum is currently one of the best supports for climbing, and his ability to stop everything the enemy team can dish out is unmatched.

Braum's main two strengths are his passive, which places stacks from his and allies' auto attacks and skill 1 on enemies, and his skill 3, which creates a shield that blocks and destroys all auto attacks and projectiles. When an enemy hits 4 stacks, they are stunned. Braum can also jump to allies with his skill 2 and knock up enemies with his ultimate, making him a powerful tool to soak up damage and keep enemies from attacking.

Why Braum is a great support:

  • Great protection
  • Powerful passive
  • Strong tank

Wild Rift has its own pop star in Seraphine, who changes the rift's music if you play her or are near her. All of her abilities are music-themed, and not only can she help her allies shine, but she can do serious damage as well.

Seraphine gets bonus attack damage and range for being around allies, and her skill 1 and skill 3 do damage to enemies, with skill 1 increasing damage depending on missing health and skill 3 applying crowd control. Skill 2 also shields allies and heals them if Seraphine is already shielded, giving her good sustain as a support in lane. Finally, her ultimate slows and charms enemies, and extends depending on how many champions it hits, giving her a great setup for team fights.

Why Seraphine is a great support:

  • High damage
  • Plenty of crowd control
  • Strong when with allies

If you've ever wondered what playing as a crazy magic child is like, Lulu is the champion for you. A mage support with all sorts of tools in her kit, Lulu is the ad carry's best friend for catching enemies off guard. In addition, all of her skills have multiple uses, meaning that if you master her, you can do just about anything.

Lulu's skill 3 attaches her partner Pix to an ally or enemy; Pix fires additional attacks at any target Lulu auto attacks. In addition, her skill 3 shields if Pix is on an ally and damages and slows if Pix is on an enemy, and her skill 1 fires a beam from Lulu and a beam from Pix, doing damage and slowing. Her skill 2 gives movement and attack speed if an ally touches it and transforms into a squirrel if an enemy touches it, and her ultimate gives her ally target bonus health and knocks up and slows enemies nearby the target.

Why Lulu is a great support:

  • Versatile kit
  • Ally benefits and enemy disadvantages
  • Consistent damage

The top of the top in League of Legends: Wild Rift for supports is Alistar, the mad cow. Alistar is straightforward, but hard to handle; his kit gives him all the tools necessary to catch enemies with minimal set up. With Alistar, all you need is a good ad carry and the lane is all but won.

Alistar has an area of effect knock up on his skill 1 and a jump to an enemy and single-target knock back on his skill 2; what makes this powerful is that you can use skill 1 to cancel the knock back on skill 2, giving you a strong engage tool. In addition, his skill 3 does damage in an area of effect around him, and if damage is done 5 times, his next auto attack stuns. Lastly, his ultimate decreases damage done to him, meaning that he can go in and stay in, setting up his team for victory.

Why Alistar is a great support:

  • Plenty of crowd control
  • Naturally tanky
  • Easy to learn
