KOTOR Best Class

Be the unique one. Be the wild card. Be Bastila

KOTOR Best Class – What to Pick?

Soldier

CHARGE

For those of you who like to shoot first ask later, the Soldier is the class for you. Proficient in a fight, the Soldier has high health and high attack, perfect for cutting your enemies down. Their skills include Demolitions, Awareness, and Treat Injury (which is not much, but hey, the goal is to fight things, right?) and they can use practically any weapon. This class is arguably the best starting class for those who want a simple first playthrough.

The Soldier is Great For:

  • Combat
  • Heavy armor
  • High weapon proficiency

Pick Soldier If:

  • You want an easy first playthrough
  • Talk is cheap
  • You love a good fight

Scout

Be open to your experiences

The class that has the class to outclass all…classes. The Scout is adaptable to their surroundings, developing the skills necessary to survive. Their feats include Uncanny Dodge, Implant (a personal favorite), Flurry, and Rapid Shot, with the ability to use most weapons. While many don’t like the Scout because of the lack of specialization, that itself can make the game immensely most fun. For the player looking to have a variety of moments in KOTOR, pick the Scout.

Scout is Great For:

  • Balanced gameplay
  • Useful skills (Computer Use, Repair, Demolitions, Awareness, Treat Injury)
  • A versatile class

Pick Scout If:

  • You want to do more than the average player
  • You’re adaptable
  • Decision making is hard

Scoundrel

"You guys sound like a bunch of crazy lunatics to me!"

Have you ever wanted to be called “Rebel Scum”, like your hero Han Solo? Say no more! The Scoundrel is the sly thief of the galaxy, using their variety of skills to survive. While not proficient in a fight, their abilities make them useful for any team combination. Their feats include Sniper Shot, Scoundrel’s Luck, Critical Strike, and Sneak Attack (a fan favorite). With unique skills like Stealth and Persuade, it’s hard not to see the possibilities for an exciting playthrough of the game.

Scoundrel is Great For:

  • Skill-building (Demolitions, Stealth, Awareness, Security, Persuade)
  • Critical strikes + Sneak Attack = HIGH damage
  • Long-range weapon attacks

Pick Scoundrel If:

  • Han Solo is your role model
  • You enjoy persuading others (like I do)
  • You’re about the Stealth Game

[Jedi Classes]

Guardian

Swing first, talk later

Acting as the enforcer of the galaxy, the Jedi Guardian is ready to fight at a moment’s notice. Quite literally ready to jump into battle, the Force Jump ability allows you to get to a single enemy as quickly as possible. With high vitality and defense, you’ll make anyone regret starting a fight with you. It’s pretty straightforward: pick the Guardian if you want to have an easy Jedi fight.

Guardian is Great For:

  • Lightsaber combat
  • Boss battles

Pick Guardian If:

  • Your favorite part about being a Jedi is the lightsaber battles
  • You like to hack and slash just about anything

Sentinel

Skills, babyyy

I’ve called this class the Obi-Wan class. It has the ability to be a skilled fighter mixed with some decent force powers. This class is my favorite because it’s the opportunist of classes. They plan the attack before they charge, and yet they can still hold their own. And with immunity to fear, stun, and paralysis, fighting the Sith is a lot easier. Be Obi-Wan, young Padawan.

Sentinel is Great For:

  • Balanced Force powers and lightsaber fighting
  • Immunity to Sith powers
  • Open customization

Pick Sentinel If:

  • You want the full Jedi experience
  • Obi-Wan is your grandfather

Consular

The peacekeeper of the galaxy

Avoiding conflict can pay off. The Consular is your Force master. He is like Yoda (or Jolee, which has a surprisingly similar swamp hut to Yoda). Your opinions of Force powers are vast and you don’t need to be proficient in a Lightsaber to handle yourself. It’s all good, man. Use the Force.

Consular is Great For:

  • Force powers
  • Team support

Pick Consular If:

  • You don’t have the rage to cut everyone down
  • You realize the iconic moments in Star Wars involved the Force (i.e. Obi-Wan persuading the Stormtrooper in A New Hope)

After mastering all four elements and defeating the Fire Lord, D grew bored and craved adventure, so D has started learning the ways of the force (as a side hustle, of course).
