[Top 10] Just Cause 4 Best Weapons and How to Get Them

Top 10 Just Cause 4 Best Weapons
Even Mother Nature is on Rico's side

As you may already know, the Just Cause world has an abundance of weaponry to choose from. Be it guns, vehicles, or even Rico’s own 2 feet; there is no shortage of ways to destroy your enemies.  That being said, there is a variety of different types of weapons. Each one with its own strengths and weaknesses that are crucial to know as you fight your way through Solis. After all, when you are bombarded by explosions that are sending you flying around like a ragdoll, it might be good to know your options.

10. The Cow Gun (Best for Random Entertainment)

Cowification...Complete!

https://youtu.be/Bjx4YvV_U6Q?t=13

Just Cause games have always been notorious for showering the games with Easter Eggs. Just cause 4 is no exception. This hilarious cow printed rifle deals no damage, instead, it emits an energy beam that turns people into cows.

Stats:

  • As a result of dealing no damage, it has infinite ammo.
  • The Secondary Fire turns you into a cow.

What makes the Cow Gun awesome:

  • You have unlimited ammo, so turn as many people into cows as you wish. Maybe only a few, or a couple of dozen, or an entire city. Why not? It’s Just Cause.
  • Shotting regular cows can also turn them into people, and they keep acting like cows.
  • The best part is that no one seems to notice they are being transformed into cows. They just continue going about their lives completely oblivious. Have you ever seen a cow strut down the street on its hind legs?

How to get the Cow Gun:

  • You must steal this gun from a farmer. It is found on the porch of a farmhouse north of Los Romeros in Vaivenes.
  • Some have said they did not find it there. If that’s the case, then try leaving the area, then trigger a load screen and try again.

9. Stormalong EM Zero (Best for Bursts Attacks)

First the hoverboard, and now this! What else can this DLC have?!

https://youtu.be/T3BThXDPa_M?t=42

If you’ve ever played around with the Mech’s GRIP in Just Cause 3, then this gun may seem a little similar. Like the Mech, its Primary Fire has the same ability to pull enemies or objects to you and releases them with a burst of energy that sends them flying. In a sense, you could compare it to having telekinesis.

Stats:

  • You get a total of 2 canisters full of fuel. Each canister will slowly drain as you use the gun, the longer you hold an object the more fuel is used.
  • The Secondary Fire emits a powerful energy beam that can easily destroy most vehicles in a matter of seconds. It uses the same fuel supply as the Primary Fire.

What makes the Stormalong awesome:

  • Seriously, you can pick up nearly anything and send it flying at your opponents. So, if you are in an area with a lot of objects or debris it can be very useful.
  • Or try to see how far you can throw them across the map. It’s like have telekinetic powers at the push of a button.
  • Its power can only be rivaled by a few select weapons. Making it one of the most powerful guns in the game.
  • Its Secondary Fire can kill your opponents in one hit and destroy vehicles after a few seconds of exposure.
  • It is also good in areas where there are a lot of objects or debris. You can just pick them up and throw them at your enemies.

Where you can find it:

  • It is a part of the Danger Rising DLC. Once you have the DLC downloaded, complete Mission “Rogue Agent” to unlock its supply drop.
  • Also available in some weapons crates.

8. LRD Sniper 3 (Best for Long Range)

Smooth sailing... for the bullets anyway.

https://youtu.be/zfVGAS6gQtI?t=121
This is honestly one of my favorite long-range weapons in the game. It offers you the best accuracy and packs a hell of a punch. As a perk, it has the option to fire homing missiles at any tricky targets. They are even powerful enough to destroy a tank in about 3 shots.

Stats:

  • Holds a maximum of 24 bullets and reloads every 6 shots.
  • Your Secondary Fire carries a maximum of 5 homing missiles.
  • With this combination, you can get a nice mix of ranged attacks.

What makes the LRD Sniper awesome:

  • Having trouble with a tricky target, turn the tables on them with a homing missile. Or take out any vehicles before they can even get to you. After all, with a long-range weapon you generally want to keep your enemies from getting to close.
  • It is incredibly accurate and deals a heavy amount of damage. A round of your primary ammo easily kills an enemy in one shot and can even destroy vehicles with only a few shots.
  • It’s a long-range weapon, so even though the reload is a little slow, your opponents aren’t likely to reach you quickly.

Where You Can Find It:

  • Complete “Training: Intel Grab” to obtain supply drops.
  • It can be found in weapons crates. Also, can be carried by some in the Black Hand.

7. AT3-X RPG (Best for a Crowd Control)

What's better than a rocket launcher? How about 4?

https://youtu.be/f9P59aPbXk8?t=76

When you are facing down wave after wave of soldiers, this is the perfect gun to grab. With its burst fire launching 4 powerful explosive rockets at once you will leave a trail of bodies in your wake. As an added perk, its Secondary Fire offers a homing function. You can aim each burst at a maximum of 4 different targets accurately!

Stats:

  • It carries a total of 6 rounds, which are each a burst of 4 missiles.
  • The Secondary Fire uses the same 6 rounds, but you are only allowed to use it 4 times.
  • The power of all 4 missiles is enough to take down large vehicles in one hit, and tanks in 2-3.

What makes the AT3-X RPG awesome:

  • You may not get a ton of ammo with this weapon, but it sure makes up for it in sheer explosive power. By the time you’ve run out of missiles, you will have a surplus of weapons to pick from.
  • You can find it in some weapons crates. Honestly, it has been an absolute lifesaver more than a few times.
  • Whenever I need to take down anything big or hoards of enemies, this is a go-to weapon.

Where You Can Find It:

6. RG- PBA 9 AKA Railgun (Best for Lending an Assist)

Nothing could possibly go wrong building something like this...

https://youtu.be/L7L_yBx5NjQ?t=121

Second, only to the Lightning Gun, this experimental weapon fires an extremely powerful energy beam. This beam requires a moment to charge each time it is fired but the longer it charges the more powerful it becomes. It can also release attack drowns that assist you in killing your enemies.

Stats:

  • It can hold a maximum of 20 bursts and reloading every 4 shots. Each one also has a slight explosion radius.
  • You can releases up 3 drones each equipped with machine guns.
  • When charging up you will see a white meter gradually fill. Once the white meter is full a blue meter will appear. You do not need to let the blue meter fill completely before firing, but as the meter fills the beam becomes more powerful. It only takes a few moments for the white meter to fill.

What makes the Railgun awesome:

  • Because it isn’t necessary to fully charge each shot, you get a range of damages that you can manipulate to different combat needs. For example, when dealing with Black Hand soldiers you can save time between shots and still have enough power to kill most in a single hit. Or when dealing with armored vehicle let it charge longer and destroy them much faster.
  • If you are being overwhelmed, you have a small flock of murderous drones to give you an assist. They’ll fight your enemies to give you the opening you need to either counter or run.
  • If anything, releasing the drowns and firing a few shots could give you the chance to pick up a weapon better suited for your combat situation.

Where You Can Get It:

  • Unlock supply drops by conquering the Kunka region of the map. You can do this by completing missions in that region. When you have completed enough missions, you will be able to move your frontline (in your map screen) to take over that area.
  • It can also be found in some weapons crates.

5. PBX Auto-Slug 4 (Best for Confined Spaces)

An automatic shotgun.....why not?

https://youtu.be/RV9aMjUt4zQ?t=70

Rico doesn’t often find himself in close combat situations. But when he does, this shotgun is the perfect partner to have. It fires buckshot that shreds any enemy in range. While it’s Secondary Fire shots bursts of ricocheting buckshot that bounce of any surface.

Stats:

  • It can hold a total of 70 rounds and holds 23 units per drum. The Secondary Ammo uses the same buckshot.
  • Does heavy damage at close range, usually powerful enough to destroy some vehicles in 1-2 shots. The ricochet shots are more powerful, even when they don’t have much to bounce off.

What makes the Auto-Slug awesome:

  • There are occasions where you will need to fight in close-range situations and when you are this weapon can be your saving grace.
  • When in any sort of confined space just sit back and watch your ricochet rounds rip through any opponent.

Where you can find it:

  • Conquer Riscos Altos to unlock supply drops. You can do this by completing missions in that region. When you have completed enough missions, you will be able to move your frontline (in your map screen) to take over that area.
  • It can also find it in some weapons crates.
  • Video Guide: https://youtu.be/RV9aMjUt4zQ?t=3

4. Mine Launcher (Best for an Aerial Assault)

Sweet fiery death from above!

https://youtu.be/fIE4X9-TQLk

The Mine Launcher is one of my personal favorites because it is highly destructive and versatile. Fire one mine at a time does deal with week enemies or a cluster to destroy larger objects. You can also plant them in multiple locations to create destroy thing simultaneously or set traps. Go ahead and test it out for yourself.

Stats:

  • It can hold a total of 32 rounds, with 8 rounds in each magazine.
  • This is one of few weapons that does not have a Secondary fire option, instead this option is used to detonate any distributed mines.
  • It does take a few moments for the mine to land, but once activated the explosive power of just 2-3 mines is enough to destroy heavy armored military vehicles.

What makes the Mine Launcher awesome:

  • You have immense explosive power you can bend to your will. What do you feel like destroying with it?
  • Because this weapon launches its ammunition, it can fire at various ranges easily adjusting to fit your every need.
  • When your running low on ammo it's a good way to get out of a pinch. Simply set a trap or fly above them.

Where you can find it:

  • Obtain for supply drops by taking over the Los Tormentas region. You can do this by completing missions in that region. When you have completed enough missions, you will be able to move your frontline (in your map screen) to take over that area.
  • Once obtained you can find it in some weapons crates.

3. Demon Crossbow (Best for Demon Hunting)

Does anyone else think this thing must be related to Preditor in some way?

https://youtu.be/yzV4q_qmA38?t=403

This 500-year-old crossbow was constructed by the Quach people, created specifically to fight the demon infestations that would plague the land. It is a unique weapon that fires surprisingly powerful arrows that can destroy most vehicles with only a few hits. And its Secondary Fire “Overdraw” just increases its power.

Stats:

  • You can carry up to a total of 60 arrows, reloading after every shot. The Overdraw option fires the same arrows only with more force but also takes longer to reload.
  • You can find it in some weapons crates and once unlocked it can be supply dropped in.
  • You can gather more arrows from some of the dead demons.
  • It is effective mostly in close and mid-ranged combat.

What makes the Demon Crossbow awesome:

  • This is one of the most unique weapons that the game has to offer. Instead of being some modern machinery, it is an ancient and powerful weapon.
  • It is fun to just play around with too, impaling anything you want to the wall, the ground or buildings. Whatever your heart desires.
  • It is interesting to see the various things you can impale; this thing basically launches spears at anything you want.

Where to find it:

  • Completing this mission “The Artifact” of the Los Demonios DLC unlocks this item for supply drops.
  • Once unlocked you can occasionally find it in some weapons crates.

2. Lightning Gun: (Best for Experimental Weapons)

Experimental Warfare at its finest!

https://youtu.be/kngJ_Yp6IYo?t=87

This is by far to most powerful of the experimental weapons. It was created by project Illapa to weaponize lighting into a military weapon. Which of course backfires when Rico steals it to use against them. Harness the destructive power of nature to annihilate all who stand against you.

Stats:

  • The Primary Fire releases a beam of lightning at your enemies. While the Secondary Fire launch storm grenades that rain lighting strikes down in a concentrated area, the final blue lighting strike is the most powerful.
  • This weapon runs off a maximum of 2 energy canisters which will drain slowly each time the weapon is used. You can also carry up to 4 storm grenades.

What makes the Lightning Gun awesome:

  • I mean, you get to fire lightning from a gun, what's not to love about that!
  • It is the most powerful weapon in the game. Which if you’ve read the rest of this article you will know what a feat that is.
  • Nothing can withstand more than a few seconds of direct contact with its beam.
  • Liberate Solís with the very weapon its government created for oppressing its citizens. You’ve got to love the irony in that.

Where to find it:

  • Take the Phuyu-Kuni region to unlock this weapon for supply drops. You can do this by completing missions in that region. When you have completed enough missions, you will be able to move your frontline (in your map screen) to take over that area.
  • You can also occasionally find it in weapons crates once it is unlocked.

1. Tendrilizer (Best for Chaotic Destruction)

Just another normal day for Rico Rodriguez. Just spending the day in the park spawning tentacle monsters.

https://youtu.be/FbKkghnzHE4?t=71

This odd specimen is unlike any other gun in the game. It appears to be made entirely of natural material with some sections are constantly wiggling. Weird, I know. Well that’s not the end of it. Like the cow gun it doesn’t do any damage, at least not directly. When fired at people or objects nothing happens. However, when shot at a natural surface (such as grass) a tendril monster holding a War Chief Assault Tank sprouts from the ground and begins killing everything it sees, including you.

Stats:

  • This monster making machine can fire off a maximum of 24 tendril monsters.
  • Though it does no direct damage to your enemies, the tendrils are highly effective. Utilizing one of the most powerful vehicles in the game it can deal more damage than nearly anything else in the game.

What makes the Tendrilizer awesome:

  • In what other game can you just magically create crazy tank wielding tentacle monsters?
  • You can use it to make a quick escape, surprise attack an enemy base, or test your own skills.
  • When using this against enemies this can be very effective. With your grapple and a wingsuit, you have better mobility then your opponents. So, you can better avoid the tendril's fire and destroy it when you are finished.

Where to find it:

  • First you must complete all Extermination missions in the Los Demonios DLC, this will unlock the weapons spawn point. Do not leave the area as this may cause the spawn to disappear. You can then find it on top of the observation post at Isla De Los Annilos. It should be hidden in some bushes on the roof.
  • Some people have reported not finding it at all, even after searching the whole area. If this is the case, then you may need to take several trips back to this location. Maybe even try different days and different times of day.
  • You can have it supply-dropped once obtained. But will not find it in weapons crates.
