Is Marvel's Avengers Crossplay? (Here's 10 Things You Should Know About Multiplayer)

Here's what you need to know about how multiplayer works.

10. Is Marvel’s Avengers Crossplay?

Marvel’s Avengers is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows, and Google Stadia. Six platforms in total, and an active player base on consoles and PC. But the does the game have crossplay?

The answer is no, it doesn’t. The reason for that is because Crystal Dynamics has no plans at the moment to implement crossplay. However, popular live-service game Destiny 2 didn’t have crossplay until August 2021, 4 years after its initial release.

Crossplay isn’t available now, but the probability of it coming into Marvel’s Avengers isn’t out of the picture yet.

9. Make sure to have a Square Enix account

Upon starting Marvel’s Avengers for the first time, you’ll be prompted to connect your Square Enix account. This is very important to complete, because you cannot play Marvel’s Avengers online without doing so.

8. Play with friends

Have other friends with Marvel’s Avengers? You can invite them into your Strike Team and complete missions together. Playing Marvel’s Avengers with friends is the ideal way to play, as there’s a sense of companionship that a full team of Avengers consisting of your friends can only grant.

7. Play with randoms

There are times when your friends are going to be busy to play games with you. It happens to all of us. When that happens, you can toggle the Quick Match feature on the War Table to play with other random players.

6. No couch co-op

Like most multiplayers in this day and age, couch co-op is not a feature available in Marvel’s Avengers. While playing side by side with friends is always a good time, Marvel’s Avengers is not built with couch co-op in mind, so implementing a splitscreen feature will be problematic.

5. You don’t have to fight each other for loot

Some games have a system where the loot will show up for all players and whoever picks it up first will keep said loot. In Marvel’s Avengers, loot is different per character, so picking up a loot that shows up for you will not affect other players.

4. Endgame content is challenging

When finished playing the Reassemble campaign and the Operations afterwards, you are then presented with the endgame content of Omega Level Threats and the Discordant Sound raid.

Omega Level Threats currently only feature one mission, but a new mission will soon be added into the game. The Discordant Sound raid will challenge players to the best of their abilities, as well as their ability to work as a team.

3. Missions focused on multiplayer

There are missions in Marvel’s Avengers where it requires a full Strike Team in order to proceed. Currently, OLT and the raid are the only missions that require a full team of players, but more will be added into the game as time goes on.

2. You can earn 10% more resources and XP when using Quick Match

Marvel’s Avengers allows you the opportunity to earn more XP and resources by playing quick match, which will place you in a Strike Team with 3 other random team mates who are doing the same. You all have the same objective: complete the mission to get the bonus.

1. More multiplayer content coming

Right now, Marvel’s Avengers is certainly lacking in content, and that’s an issue the playerbase has been voicing since its launch. Recently, Crystal Dynamics is planning more content for the future. More missions, more heroes, and more villains to fight.
