Building a team in Honkai can be a bit hard for newbies. As a game with over 70 characters, it offers many options, being confusing to new players. Not only that, but Honkai Impact 3rd also has quantum, imaginary, psychic, mecha, and biologic types of character and physical damage, fire, lightning, and ice elements. 

With all this in mind, I hope a list will help your team build, choosing the perfect characters according to the situation.

5. Vill-V + Azure Empyrea + Raven

A team that combines the most classic elemental support with new characters.

Firstly shown as the best option against the new quantum Boss, and having the latest character as the damage dealer, this team is a recommendation by the game developers. 

While Vill-V's banner will surely come back again soon, Azure Empyrea's next banner can take half a year to come back.

Raven does well in her role of filling for the damage dealer. When you need to switch from Vill-V to another character, you can have her dealing quick fire damage with her arrows.

Why this team is great

• Fire-focused team:  It's always good to have a top-tier fire-focused team ready for the abyss rotations. Having the right element will significantly increase your reward chances.
• Quickest damage dealer: Vill-V and Raven are the quickest fire-damage dealers in the game. With AE's support, they make combat where you need to clear the stage quickly, easier.
• Quantum-type: With Vill-V's arrival in the game, she brought along a lot of bosses favoring Quantum-type, like Tonatiuh and the Quantum Whale. Since she deals additional damage to quantum-type, this team will be relevant for some time.

4. Herrscher of Thunder + Fallen Rosemary + Fischl

A popular lightning team for your weekly challenges.

Having the second Herrscher as the damage dealer, you will see this trio as one of the popular lightning teams used in the abyss and memorial arena.

The damage dealer returned to the meta with the new weapon, Seven thunders of retribution, giving Herrscher of Thunder a re-work and the position of highest usage in the game's current version.

In this team, the supports, who are considerably easy for you to have, deal significant damage to the enemies while also buffing the DPS. 

Why this team is great

• Lightning-focused team:  You want a lightning-focused team ready for abyss and memorial arena rotations. The right team will significantly increase your reward chances.
• Top damage dealer: The three are the most used lightning characters. They are the ones you will see the most ranking on the top 10 of memorial arena or abyss, favoring lightning type.
• Psychic-type: With Herrscher of Thunder as the damage dealer, this team excels against Mecha-type bosses like SSS Bright Knight and the Abyss RPC.

3. Herrscher of Flamescion + Azure Empyrea + Raven

It would be a shame if the main character didn't get to shine. 

Herrscher of Flamescion has been the ceiling for the fire element for a while, and it seems that being the beloved protagonist contributes to her high usage rate. 

Having Azure Empyrea is a must for elemental damage, and, like the other first team on this list, Raven fills in when you need someone to switch, and she does the job well.

Why this team is great

• Fire-focused team: Ideally, you want a fire-focused team for the abyss and memorial arena bosses, especially when your account is level 81+. Having the right element will increase your reward chances.
• Top damage dealer: With Azure Empyrea providing elemental breach, Raven buffing the team up to 55% additional fire damage, and Herrscher of Flamescion is the current best fire damage dealer. You won't lose any fights if you gear them properly.
• Psychic-type: Herrscher of Flamescion is quite known for, quite literally, melting bosses such as the mecha-type MHT-3, who is countered by her.

2. Silverwing: N-EX + Haxxor Bunny + Pardofelis

The only thing better than one Bronya battlesuit is two Bronya battlesuits.

These three look like they were made perfectly for each other. With this team having the specialty of dealing with damage quickly, this team deals tremendous damage in less time than other Ice-focused teams.

Even if Silverwing: N-ex and Haxxor Bunny use firearms, Pardofelis and her chakram don't lose in attack speed, buffing them and providing SP for the team. Haxxor Bunny also buffs the DPS, and her ultimate easily triggers Silverwing: N-ex's QTE.

Why this team is great

• Ice-focused team:  It's ideal for you to have a team focused on each element for the abyss and memorial arena bosses. Those game modes have"weathers" that can be in favor of certain elements, and having the right team will increase your reward chances.
• Top damage dealer: This team is the best against Ice Elysia, Benares, Higokumaru, Ranged Assaka, and Hitcount Nihilus.
• Biologic-type: With Silverwing: N-EX being of the Biologic-type, this team excels against Psychic bosses.

1. Palatinus Equinox + Herrscher of Sentience + Griseo

The best physical damage team the game has to offer.

This team offers you something obvious: the best of each. Palatinus Equinox is currently the top-tier damage dealer for a physical team. Her being a relatively new character explains the low usage rate she shows.

Secondly, Herrscher of Sentience never left her spot as the best physical support, also serving as the damage dealer. 

Lastly, Griseo is easy to get as she is an SP battlesuit, meaning that she is farmable. You can buy her fragments at the shop to get her, simply as that. 

Why this team is great

• Physical-focused team: As this team doesn't have an element, I invest in it to use against elemental enemies that I don't have the ideal comp.
• Top damage dealer: Palatinus Equinox and Herrscher of Sentience are amazing damage dealers. They might stay like that for a while. Griseo came on as a substitute for Starlit Astrologos as the third member of the physical teams and will be relevant for some time.
• Imaginary-type:  With the damage dealer being of imaginary type, she receives and deals damage to others without any multiplier, being neutral, which you can use in your favor. She gets additional damage only when she is against imaginary enemies, like False God Otto and Nihilus.
