Garry’s Mod is almost synonymous with building.

Whatever you want to do in the game, you gotta build something. Sometimes though, you may feel like you don’t have enough tools to build with or props to utilize in your epic projects.

These great add-ons will allow you to add a myriad of building-related content to the base game. From prop-packs to tools and tweaks, you will find something that fits your needs for sure.

#10 - SmartSnap

Starting off with SmartSnap.

This add-on will allow you to move and weld props around with extreme precision. It’s fairly simple and basic for an add-on, but it will make your life a lot easier!

#9 - Improved Weight

It still amazes me how Improved Weight is not in the base game.

This addon is very useful to create any weight-based contraptions and much more. It has a lot of infinite uses. This improved version will also give you more useful information about the prop’s original and modified weights.

• Very immediate to use.
• Useful color scales to visually represent how heavy it is.

#8 - SProps Workshop Edition

This car has been built utilizing SProps props. 

SProps Workshop Edition is a vital add-on for any builder that would like to expand the number of shapes and props in an organized, consistent way.

This mod will add over 3200 unique shapes to work with, as well as keeping it all tidier than the base game.

• Props are available in complex shapes that the base game lacks altogether.

#7 - Multi Parent Tool

Multi Parent Tool is an add-on that will add a few extra options and a functional reliable unparenting tool.

It will add features such as the option to disable shadows or an option to create a no-collide or disable collisions completely. 

What’s great about Multi Parent Tool:

• More technical add-on, but super useful.
• Very lightweight.
• Useful in a lot of situations.

#6 -  Wiremod

Wiremod is one of the most subscribed building add-ons on Garry’s Mod Steam Workshop.

This mod will add a collection of connectable entities that can be connected by data wires.

#5 - GB Radial Menu v2012.11.26

This add-on is all about building efficiency.

GB Radial Menu v2012.11.26 will allow you to use a quick and efficient Radial menu to swiftly access all the tools and options you need to create unique and functional contraptions.

#4 - Precision Tool

Precision is key when building.

While this may look too similar to our number ten entry, this add-on allows you to do much more than just move things around precisely. Precision Tool will let you rotate, snap, weld, and align all props, doesn’t matter which shape they have.

#3 - Physgun Buildmode

Efficiency is master with this add-on.

This very classic add-on will add a couple of functionalities to your Phys gun, making it much easier to build things. Very useful for a Roleplay server since it removes much of the awkwardness of building things in Garry’s Mod.

#2 - Fin Tool 2

If you’re an aviation fan you will adore this add-on.

Fin Tool 2 will let you make a wing out of any prop, allowing you to build cool-looking airplanes and flying couches! Perhaps not the most useful add-on for day-to-day building, but it’s fantastic for all your flying needs.

• Wings physics are realistic.
• Lightweight.

#1 - Advanced Duplicator 2

This is just an incredibly useful mod to copy and paste props as well as completed contraptions and dupes. All things copied can be saved and will be available inside your Garry’s Mod directory as handy little text files to share around!
