There are countless games similar to Amnesia: The Bunker; you just have to find the right one for yourself. So this article is all about that, so with that, let’s get into it!

10. Dead Space Remake

Hey, wanna hear my mixtape?

The first game on this list that is similar to Amnesia: The Bunker is Dead Space Remake. It came out recently, like a few months ago. Dead Space Remake is about Isaac, who is going to a ship called the Nishimura to search for his wife, who recently went dark. Actually, the whole ship went dark, and no contact could be made.

Your job is to find your wife, figure out what happened to the ship, and unravel the mystery while surviving horrible creatures that want to kill you. The way that this game is similar to Amnesia: The Bunker is that they are both survival horror games, and you have to search for supplies to survive. The creatures can pop out of nowhere, and they will chase you and try to kill you. You can either run away or stay and defend your life!

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • Being able to defend yourself in a horror game.
  • Enjoy a good and well-developed story.
  • Great graphics.
  • The horror scenes aren’t scripted.
  • The gore in the game is great.

9. Madison

Say cheese!

This game will put you through a horrifying experience, which is just perfect for Halloween muhaha! This game is about a demon putting you through brutal torture to continue the ritual that was started decades ago. Your job is to figure out the puzzles and stop the demon in the process.

There is no survival element to the game, and you won’t have to collect resources. The way that it’s similar to Amnesia: The Bunker is that you need to solve puzzles and uncover the deeper story by reading notes left around or by visual or audio clues. Also, Maidson is played from the first person perspective, isn’t fast paced and is quite immersive, like Amnesia-The Bunker!

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • An immersive horror experience.
  • Doing puzzles unique with your camera.
  • Uncovering the story by finding notes and other visual or audio clues.
  • Jump scares that will make you wish you were wearing a diaper.

8. Bendy and The Dark Revival

I thought this game would be nice due to the art style!

This game might seem innocent with its art style, but don’t let that fool you and trick you into a false sense of security. Because somewhere deep in this game lies a horrifying experience! Bendy and The Dark Revival is a first-person horror game and the point of the game is to uncover the mystery behind the animation studio that shut down and slowly went mad.

The way that it’s similar to Amnesia: The Bunker is that you’ll constantly have a sense of dread over you, and the main monster will always be on the lookout for you. You have to escape him and make sure that he doesn’t catch you in the process!

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • A unique art style that’s similar to old-school Disney.
  • Having a sense of dread over you at all times and being anxious.
  • Having a monster chase you and the chase sequences not being scripted.
  • Uncovering a mystery on what happened to the animation studio.

7. System Shock

Welcome to cyborg hell!

System Shock was one of the first games that inspired the survival horror genre altogether. The original game came out way back in 1994, and even at that time, it had players soiling their pants. But notably, the game has received a remake that came out this year back in May, and oh my god the remake is damn amazing.

The point of the game is to stop a rogue AI that has gone sentient and launched itself deep into space, where horrible creatures now roam the ship. The way that it’s similar to Amnesia: The Bunker is in its survival horror, resource gathering, and doing the puzzles. The jump scares aren’t scripted, and something horrifying just might be lurking around the corner!

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • The cyberpunk aesthetic of the game.
  • If you played the original.
  • If you want to play one of the first influential games for the survival horror genre.
  • If you enjoy non-scripted horror scenes.
  • Doing puzzles that don’t hold your hand the entire time.

6. Resident Evil 2 Remake

Why did Leon get the baby face?

The goal of Resident Evil 2 is all about trying to escape Racoon City, but the more Leon or Claire try to do it, the deeper they get into the mess. The game's story is pretty straightforward and won’t have you scratching your head at what the hell just happened. This is a true survival horror game that places a huge emphasis on resource management.

During the game, you’ll also be chased by a beast called “Mr.X” that you can’t kill but can only stun for a short period. If you don’t want to waste ammunition or grenades on the thing, you can just run away from it. It’s just like in Amnesia: The Bunker with the beast in that game. As well, resource management is strict like in Amnesia and you can’t just blow all of your resources on mindless things.

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • Being constantly chased by an unkillable monster.
  • Hardcore resource management.
  • A linear story that doesn’t leave you scratching your head.
  • Cool boss fights that aren’t hard.
  • Being able to choose between two playable characters that have a different story path.
  • A lot of replayability.

5. Darkwood

I swear this wasn’t here last time…

Here’s a different perspective on the survival horror genre altogether. You’ll be playing this game from a top-down perspective. The objective in this game is to survive the night while during the day, you have to explore and find resources. There is no hand-holding in this game, and you have to experiment and figure things out on your own accord.

You can set traps for the monsters that are after you, and you can barricade yourself in your home. You aren’t told where to go or what to do. You only have one objective. Just like in Amnesia: The Bunker. Darkwood will keep you on the edge of your seat, as you’re not sure what to expect next. You will meet some characters, and you can decide their fate, their lives are in your hands, but be aware of who you trust in this game.

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • Setting traps for the monsters that chase you at night.
  • Barricading down inside of your house.
  • Figuring things on your own.
  • No hand-holding during the gameplay.
  • You have to experiment and find the story for yourself.
  • The game doesn’t tell you what to do or where to go.

4. The Outlast Trials

I sacrificed my homies so I could win!

While playing Amnesia: The Bunker, have you thought about how amazing the game would be in multiplayer with the homies? Well, if you have, let me introduce you to Outlast The Trials. This is the third installment in the Outlast series, and it’s quite good, much better than the second game. When it comes to Outlast Trials, your job is to survive with your friends and make it out alive.

To do that, you’ll have to find resources that will help you, and you’ll be chased by different monsters depending on the level you’re playing. Which is similar to Amnesia The Bunker in that way as well. As you know, in Amnesia: The Bunker, you have to outmaneuver the beast while trying to run away and survive.

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • The old outlast games.
  • If you want to experience a horror game in co-op.
  • You will be chased by multiple monsters throughout the game.
  • The game is still in early access and more content is on the rise!

3. Resident Evil 7

A Resident Evil game in first person?

This is the first game in the Resident Evil franchise that can be played from a first-person perspective. You play as a new protagonist called “Ethan,” and your mission is to save your girlfriend, who went missing 3 years ago. During your time, you will be locked inside the house and won’t be able to leave.

The resources are scarce, and you need to manage them carefully and not waste them all because you will suffer in the boss fight sections. The way that it’s similar to Amnesia: The Bunker is that both games are in first person and highly immersive. Both games are a great horror experience and will have you shivering and thinking what the hell just happened?

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • If you love the Resident Evil franchise.
  • If you want to play a Resident Evil game from the first-person perspective.
  • The game is highly immersive and every action has an animation.
  • The main antagonists of the game have characters and a personality.

2. Soma

It’s underwater Amnesia.

Soma is an acclaimed psychological horror game made by Frictional Games, who made the Amnesia series. This game is set on an underwater base in the Atlantic Ocean. The machines in the game have gone rogue, and they are beginning to think they are humans. Your job is to figure out what the hell happened.

The jump scares are a bit scripted. The game will give you anxiety, and it’s more of that good amnesia formula. The way that this game is similar to Amnesia: The Bunker is in the whole psychological horror aspect and in the gameplay. While playing Soma, you’ll always be reminded of Amnesia, and the controls are similar.

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • Having to figure out the story yourself and find out what went wrong.
  • If you like the underwater setting of games.
  • It’s the same formula as the Amnesia series.
  • There are some scripted jump scares.
  • If you enjoy being anxious if the creature will see you or not.

1. Alien Isolation

Aw hell ye, here we go!

If you want a very similar game to Amnesia: The Bunker while also being longer and giving you huge nostalgia, go with Alien Isolation. This game is a huge love letter to the original Alien movie, so if you loved that, you’ll love this game as well. Everything that you can do in Amnesia The Bunker from resource gathering, scaring away the beast, being scared, a great story and so on this game has it.

In this game, the alien has two AIs. Which makes the monster even smarter and more unpredictable. You have to be on the move, and you can’t make a lot of sounds otherwise, you are gone. Different weapons in the game can help you scare off the alien, but don’t use them too often, or the alien will get used to them and won’t be afraid anymore. The game's objective is to ensure you survive and not let the alien kill you.

Choose This Game If You Like:

  • If you love the Alien franchise, especially the first movie.
  • The game is very similar to Amnesia The Bunker.
  • If you love that the alien adapts to your strategies.
  • If you love doing puzzles.
