The Farmville 3 exotic animals you get have to be ranked by group.  Unlike pet battle pets in Warcraft, Farmville 3 exotic animals’ traits don’t affect their power or health.  They have individual traits that can help you find items on missions (random which traits will be helpful).  These traits will also affect whether or not you win the animal contest according to how many exotic animals you have on your team with the chosen trait (which is random).

Your animals are from 5 different biomes.

• Desert
• Forest
• Jungle
• Mountain
• Snow

There is no advantage to which biome they are in.  The purpose of the different biomes is you need one exotic animal from each biome on your arena contest team.

1 - 11 Four Star Exotic Animals

They are the best because

• They have the most power
• They have 3 traits
• A team of these will definitely give you an advantage

12 - 54 Three Star Exotic Animals

They are very good because

• They are easier to get then 4 star exotic animals
• They have 3 traits
• They cost less coins and materials to evolve than the 4 star exotic animals

Two star exotic animals have only 2 traits and one star exotic animals have only 1 trait.  While they can help you some, I wouldn’t worry about training them.  Your materials and coins are better spent evolving the stronger 3 star and 4 star exotic animals.

How To Get Your Exotic Animals

Exotic tokens are turned in for exotic chests.  

Buy The Exotic Chests With Gems

• Locate your store.  It’s on the corner of your farm’s dirt road and it looks like a gypsy caravan.
• On the bottom left you will see 3 brown wooden signs.  Click the one with the animal print on it and Exotics written on it.

Buy Epic Exotic Token With Friendship Points

• Locate your store.  It’s on the corner of your farm’s dirt road and it looks like a gypsy caravan.
• On the bottom left you will see 3 brown wooden signs.  Click the one with the shopping cart on it and Deals written on it (this may be your default option).
• Scroll down until you get to the Friendship Prizes  section.
• The 3rd option will have Epic Exotic Token for 850 friendship points

Get Exotic Tokens As Rewards

• Follow the river down to the ocean.  You will see a boat dock.
• The boat will have a bar at the top of the screen.  How much you fill that bar will depend on how many and what tokens you get.
• You fill the crates to get the points.  Click on the crate and it will show you how many items you have that can fill that crate.
• Once you get your tokens, locate your store.  It’s on the corner of your farm’s dirt road and it looks like a gypsy caravan.
• On the bottom left you will see 3 brown wooden signs.  Click the one with the animal print on it and Exotics written on it.
• If you have tokens, they will appear where the gems used to be.  Once you have used all your tokens then you can buy more chests with gems.  

Get Exotic Tokens As Gifts

• Present packages can appear anywhere around your farm.  They are usually located around your order board if there is enough room for them.  They are sent by your friends.
• Opening these packages will get you all sorts of items, including exotic tokens.
• If you get a token, locate your store.  It’s on the corner of your farm’s dirt road and it looks like a gypsy caravan.
• On the bottom left you will see 3 brown wooden signs.  Click the one with the animal print on it and Exotics written on it.
• If you have tokens, they will appear where the gems used to be.  Once you have used all your tokens then you can buy more chests with gems.  

Special Deals For Real Money

• Locate your store.  It’s on the corner of your farm’s dirt road and it looks like a gypsy caravan.
• On the bottom left you will see 3 brown wooden signs.  Click the one with the shopping cart on it and Deals written on it (this may be your default option).
• The first deal to pop can include exotic animal tokens for real world money.

Make sure you have enough exotic animal homes to house your animals.  You want them to have somewhere to go if the weather turns bad.  You also can’t use them if they are homeless.
