[Top 15] EAFC 24 Best Young GK (15 Amazing Goalkeepers for Career Mode)

EAFC 24 Best Young GK
Bart Verbruggen readies himself for the fight to be named best young goalkeeper.

Lacking confidence in your starting keeper? Or just looking for prospect options for your future seasons? Well this list of the top 15 best young goalkeepers in EA Sports FC 24 will help to give you some options to fill a void, or to put the future of your career mode in safe hands.

Whilst a new goalkeeper isn’t the most exciting transfer to make, the role is absolutely vital to the success of any team. As the last line of defence, you have to have confidence that if the opposition break through on goal, they have what it takes to make the save and keep the team in the game.

So, this list of 15 young goalkeepers is the perfect list to get some young blood in and develop the best keepers of tomorrow.

15. Aleksander Bobek - Poland - LKS Lodz (Ekstraklasa) - 19 Years Old - Overall 65 - Potential 81 - Transfer Cost £1.6m

  Aleksander Bobek Real World Highlights

The first of many homegrown talents in this list, Bobek joined LKS Lodz from the LKS U19 squad in 2020 and a year later became a regular starter for the Polish squad. In 2022 Bobek made his debut for the national under 19 squad, making one other appearance since.

Bobek starts off our list in number 15 as whilst he is a very strong young keeper, his starting ratings do hold him back compared to his other counterparts. As such, for me, Bobek should be a transfer target if you’re playing as a lower league team to hold onto and boost the team with a strong defence, or as a development option in a mid league team.

  • Giant in the Sticks - At 196cm tall, Bobek is the second tallest on this list, making him an impressive sight between the posts for any defensive line up.
  • Reflexes - Bobek’s strongest attribute is without a doubt his reflexes. With a rating of 71, he is extremely capable of responding to any ball that comes his way.
  • Cheap Investment - Looking from a more business aspect in the career mode, Bobek has a massive potential of 81, which with an initial cost of £1.6m, makes him a future goldmine for any club.

14. Gabriel Slonina - USA - KAS Eupen (Pro League) - 19 Years Old - Overall 66 - Potential 81 - Transfer Cost £1.8m

Gabriel Slonina Real World Highlights

Having started his career in the MLS, American born Slonina made his name for Chicago Fire before being bought by Chelsea in the summer transfer window in 2022, instantly being loaned back to Chicago for the rest of the MLS season. Upon finally joining Chelsea on New Year's Eve 2022 he spent half the year in England before being loaned out to KAS Eupen where he is currently making waves in the Belgian league.

Much like Bobek, Slonina isn’t a strong option if you’re playing as a top level team, however he is a great starting keeper for low to mid range teams. With his overall score of 66, Slonina is a very capable 19 year old, giving him plenty of growth potential if developed properly, which means plenty of game time. If you do want to go for him as a bigger team, it may be a good option to loan out for a season or two.

  • Young and Capable - As he’s only 19, Slonina has plenty of seasons ahead of him giving him the potential to become a true club legend if fostered properly.
  • Physical Keeper - With a jumping of 60, and a strength of 63, Slonina has a really positive starting physicality of 65 making him strong in the air against crosses and deadballs.
  • Reactionary - Slonina is a really strong dribbler, having a rating of 65 made up of reactions 67 and composure 48, giving more confidence if the ball needs to be played back to start a new attack.

13. Samuel Soares - Portugal - Benfica (Liga Portugal) - 21 Years Old - Overall 67 - Potential 81 - Transfer Cost £2m

Samuel Soares Real World Highlights

Having come up through the Benfica youth teams, Soares has been on their books since 2013 and the age of 11. Not only was Soares a regular in his club youth teams, but also for the Portuguese youth squads, making 33 appearances in the squads from the under 15s to the under 21s.

Although only placing in at number 13, Soares actually has the highest ranking in a couple of key goalkeeping stats. These are GK kicking and jumping, rating 79 and 73 respectively, Soares has some really strong starting stats, making him a great option for lower level teams or as a backup for a main squad. However, my tactic with Soares is to buy in season one and use him as an investment to sell on two or three seasons later at a profit.

  • Super Kicker - Soares stands out as the strongest distributor of the ball on this list with a supreme kicking stat of 79.
  • Leaping Legend - Kicking isn’t his only highest stat on this list, with his jumping ability rated at 73, he soars above the others making him adept to saving lobbed or dipping shots.
  • Incredible Investment - At only £2m and a 67 starting overall, Soares has exceptional room for growth and therefore the potential to make a profit for your squad in very few seasons.

12. Dogan Alemdar - Turkey - Stade Rennais (Ligue 2) - 20 Years Old - Overall 72 - Potential 79 - Transfer Cost £3.2m

Doğan Alemdar Real World Highlights

Rising through his hometown’s youth academy, before representing the club’s main team for two years, Alemdar transferred from Kayserispor to Stade Rennais in 2021. After making 23 appearances for the club, Alemdar has been loaned out to ESTAC Troyes where he’s been the main keeper starting for 24 games out of 25.

Rated at 72 with a potential of 79, Alemdar has the smallest growth potential on the list, but he is still extremely promising. With a cost of £3.2m Alemdar is extremely accessible for most squads and is a great option for teams fighting for promotion.

  • Composed - Easily Alemdar’s stand out feature is his composure, rated at 59. This means with the ball at his feet, he’s comfortable with picking out a pass, supporting his distribution if the ball is played back.
  • Right Place Right Time - Alemdar also stands out with his positioning of 73, meaning he knows where to be and when to be there.
  • Physically Able - With a physicality of 73 made up of jumping and strength of 61 and 65, Alemdar is a very capable stopper when it comes to crosses into the box.

11. Filip Jorgensen - Denmark - Villareal (La Liga) - 21 Years Old - Overall 72 - Potential 80 - Transfer Cost £4.4m

Filip Jorgensen Real World Highlights

At the age of 13, Jorgensen was recruited to the Villarreal youth squad where he’s been playing since, working on making a name for himself until 2023 when he joined the first team and since then he’s been the number one goalkeeper for the squad. He’s also impressively played for two different national youth squads, getting 10 caps for the Sweden Under 16s and 17s teams before changing his national squad to Denmark where he’s now made 9 appearances for the under 21s squad.

Already a regular starter for a mid table top tier team, it’s clear with his starting stat of 72 that he can walk into any team of a similar standing. With a growth potential of 80, he won’t be a world best, but he will get the job done in the top leagues.

  • Long Lob - Jorgensen’s distribution is already impressive with a kicking of 72, however this is further enhanced by his Play Style of Far Throw.
  • Top Tier - With his starting and potential rating of 72 and 80, Jorgensen is a competent player for any top league team, and being only £4.4m, this is a bargain for such a prospect.
  • Consistency - Having a range of only 4 points across his goalkeeping skills (69 to 73), Jorgensen is a highly consistent player with no real weak spot.

Filip Jorgensen Full Details

10. Stefano Turati - Italy - Frosinone (Series A) - 21 Years Old - Overall 72 - Potential 82 - Transfer Cost £5m

Stefano Turati Real World Highlights

Coming through the Sassuolo youth teams, Turati has risen through the ranks and is clearly a part of their long term plans having been loaned out to both Reggina and Frosinone for experience. His second year now at Frosinone, Turati has been a key player in their Series A campaign, making 24 appearances in the starting line up.

Turati, much like Jorgensen, is a very strong keeper for a mid level team and can walk into those calibre teams with ease. Whilst not one of my first choice options, Turati is a great development option, especially for £5m with a great potential of growth to solidify any defensive line up.

  • Reactionary - Turati’s standout stats are definitely his reflexes and reactions at 75 and 62, making him able to respond to attacks easily.
  • Strong Positioning - With a rating of 73, Turati is a very tactical player being able to position himself well for any opposition coming his way.
  • Starting Keeper - Having an initial rating of 72, Turati will easily be a starting keeper for any mid level team, making him a great option for teams fighting for promotion or to avoid top tier relegation.

9. Noah Atubolu - Germany - Freiburg (Bundesliga) - 21 Years Old - Overall 70 - Potential 82 - Transfer Cost £3.4m

Noah Atubolu Real World Highlights

A true hometown hero, being born in Freiburg in 2002, Atubolu has come through the Freiburg youth squads, making it into the main squad in 2021 and is now their starting keeper this season.

Physically the strongest in our list, Atubolu “Hulk’s out” with a super strength of 79, making him an absolute wall in between the posts. With a growth potential as well from 70 to 82 overall, Atubolu can be an amazing development option for any team.

  • Pure Strength - As mentioned, Atubolu’s strength is a standout stat in this list at a monumental 79, which for a keeper is incredible.
  • Safe Footwork - Atubolu has fantastic reflexes, coming in at 73, however paired up with his Play Style of Footwork, he’s able to make impressive stops not only with his hands, but with his feet as well.
  • Jumping or Flying? - Not only physically strong, Atubolu is also talented with both jumping and diving, with ratings of 67 and 71, making him able to put his reflexes into use the full width and height of the goal.

8. Gavin Bazunu - Ireland - Southampton (Championship) - 21 Years Old - Overall 71 - Potential 83 - Transfer Cost £3.4m

Gavin Bazunu Real World Highlights

Another product of the Manchester City Under 18s and 21s squads, Bazunu was loaned out to Rochdale and Portsmouth while with the Citizens before being bought by Southampton in 2022. Since joining the Saints, Bazunu has been the number one keeper for two seasons and has become the main shot stopper for his national team of Ireland, representing them on 20 occasions.

Bazunu is a hidden gem. Starting at an overall of 71 with a potential of 83 and only costing £3.4m, Bazunu is a must buy. Whilst a great shot stopper, Bazunu really stands out as a great distributor with a kicking and passing both of 73.

  • Impressive Passes - Bazunu’s passing is definitely a selling point for him with long and short passes rated 51 and 45 respectively, and vision of 60 meaning he can pick out a player anywhere on the field.
  • Catlike Reflexes - With an agility of 54, reactions of 65 and reflexes of 74, Bazunu is incredibly able to react to any attack coming his way.
  • Beyond a Bargain - I can’t stress this enough, for £3.4m, Bazunu is an unbelievable deal for any club.

7. Elia Caprile - Italy - Napoli (Series A) - 21 Years Old - Overall 72 - Potential 84 - Transfer Cost £4.3m

Elia Caprile Real World Highlights

After growing up in the Verona youth teams, it’s fair to say that Caprile has represented more teams than anyone else on this list. Leaving Chievo Verona for the Leeds under 21 squad, after two seasons Caprile went on loan to Pro Patria before then being sold to Bari and then Napoli in consecutive seasons. Now on loan at Empoli, Caprile missed a number of games from an ankle sprain, but is now back to being in the starting line up.

Caprile, whilst a good keeper in season one with a rating of 72, is definitely a keeper for down the line with a potential overall of 84. With a starting cost of £4.3m, Caprile is a great option within the budget of most teams.

  • Extremely Agile - With an agility of 60, Caprile is nimble on his feet, which combined with his reflexes of 73 and reactions of 66, make him adept to any attack coming his way.
  • Great Vision - Caprile’s vision of 55 makes him able to spot his team mates easily supporting his ability to distribute well.
  • Well rounded Keeper - Caprile is one of the most consistent keepers in the list, with a range across his GK abilities of 3 from 70 to 73.

6. James Trafford - England - Burnley (Premier League) - 20 Years Old - Overall 71 - Potential 84 - Transfer Cost £3.4m

James Trafford Real World Highlights

A product of the Manchester City academy, Trafford has spent his career so far on loan in the North of England with both Accrington and Bolton before being bought by Burnley at the start of the 23/24 season. Instantly Trafford has become the number one goalkeeper for the Clarets and is getting himself noticed in the Premier League to the extent of now being called up to the England under 21s with 16 appearances.

For me, Trafford is definitely one to watch, with his starting overall at 71 and a potential of 84, he’s not only a great back up option, but also a fantastic first team player for mid level teams. At only 20 years old, Trafford is a young starter making him a long term option for any career campaign.

  • Strong Response - With a rating 73 and 64, Trafford’s reflexes and reactions are extremely impressive, making him a talented responder to attacking situations.
  • Early Intervention - Trafford’s core stats are further enhanced by his two Play Styles; Cross Claimer and Rush Out which lend him to charging down attacks when the ball is crossed into the box.
  • Investment Option - With an impressive potential growth of 13 points, Trafford has a lot of room to grow, so with an initial price of £3.4m, a healthy profit could be made on a really talented player, or to keep him to strengthen the squad.

5. Guillaume Restes - France - Toulouse (Ligue 1) - 18 Years Old - Overall 72 - Potential 87 - Transfer Cost £5m

Guillaume Restes Real World Highlights

A homegrown talent for Toulouse, Restes has climbed through the ranks of the youth teams to claim his spot as the number one keeper for the club. Alongside his club team, Restes has also been competing for the position of first choice goalkeeper for his national youth side, with his fellow countryman and national rival for the top spot, Chevalier, also making the list.

The youngest of them all at only 18 years old, Restes is also the most promising with the highest potential overall of 87. Not only promising, but with an above average starting overall on this list at 72, he fits straight into a mid table top tier team easily. With both of these factors being such strong selling points, not much more needs to be said to highlight Reste as an absolute must buy, but the fact he’s only £5m makes him an absolute bargain and brings massive potential with the returns on any future sale.

  • Exciting Prospect - Restes is without a doubt one of the most exciting players on this list. He holds his own already in season one, but with a potential of 87, he is definitely a player to cling onto for the future.
  • Key Reflexes - Restes key stat to start with is his reflexes. With a rating of 72, he has a great starting point to build on, with all his stats but especially his reflexes.
  • Absolute Bargain - At only £5m (I know I said “only” followed by a million figure, but it is football), Restes is truly accessible for any team, getting you a future star regardless of your chosen career mode team.

4. Lucas Chevalier - France - Lille (Ligue 1) - 21 Years Old - Overall 78 - Potential 84 - Transfer Cost £18m

Lucas Chevalier Real World Highlights

Another French homegrown talent, but this time for Lille, Chevalier has risen through the U19s team into the B team and is now a regular starter for the club. Not only a regular in Ligue 1, Chevalier has also made several appearances for the French youth teams.

With a starting overall rating of 78, the highest on the list, it’s no wonder that Chevalier is the most expensive at £18m, however for a future star this is still a bit of a steal. Chevalier is also the fastest, the best diver and he has the best reactions of this collection of goalkeepers, with ratings of 79 in each of these areas. With all this in mind, Chevalier is a fantastic option for not only a development keeper, but also to start matches for most teams.

  • Reactionary - Having the highest starting reactions of any other goalkeeper on this list (79), Chevalier is extremely quick to react in any situation.
  • Strong Starter - Chevalier’s initial overall of 78 is the strongest starting point for this list and with a potential growth to 84, he really is a keeper of today and tomorrow.
  • Speedy Stopper - Despite an acceleration and sprint speed of 42 and 40, Chevalier’s pace is rated at 79, making him the fastest keeper on the list. This linked with his high reaction rating makes him well equipped to respond in a hurry.

3. Maarten Vandevoordt - Belgium - Genk (Pro League) - 21 Years Old - Overall 75 - Potential 85 - Transfer Cost £11m

Maarten Vandevoordt Real World Highlights

Yet another product of their current team’s youth academy in the starting line up, Vandevoordt graduated from the Genk youth teams in 2019, joining the men’s squad. Two years later, in 2021, Vandevoordt made his name as the regular man between the sticks for the squad and has been there ever since.

With a starting rating of 75, Vandevoordt is a strong goalkeeper, walking into most squads as a choice for starting keeper. Hush goalkeeping stats are all impressively consistent between 73 and 77 making him a very well rounded shot stopper.

  • Well Rounded - As mentioned, with a range across his GK abilities of 4, from 73 to 77, Vandevoordt is extremely consistent, having few weak spots in his game.
  • Vision and Distributor - Being able to build an attack is a large part of the modern game and Vandevoordt fits into this well with a vision of 51 and then long and short passing of 44 and 38 and a kicking of 73.
  • Sure Feet - Not only a great stopper, Vandevoordt has exceptional confidence with the ball at his feet with composure of 52 and reactions of 68.

Maarten Vandevoordt Full Details

2. Anatoliy Trubin - Ukraine - Benfica (Liga Portugal) - 21 Years Old - Overall 77 - Potential 85 - Transfer Cost £17.5m

Anatoliy Trubin Real World Highlights

Trubin made his name rising through the Shakhtar Donetsk youth squad into the first team, making his debut for the squad in 2020 and from that moment on, he was a regular starter. A year later in 2021, Trubin had done enough to earn a call up and his first cap for the Ukrainian national squad, earring 9 more appearances since and further bringing his name to the world stage before a €10m move to Benfica in 2023 to become their starting keeper.

Towering at a massive 6ft 6in, Trubin is the tallest on our list, bringing a truly impressive height and reach to the role of shot stopper. Not only the tallest, Trubin also boasts the best handling and positioning from the rest of the group, at 76 and 82 respectively. With such a strong starting point to build off at the young age of 21, Trubin is a truly vital asset and investment to any team.

  • A Towering Presence - At 199 cm tall (only 45 cm shorter than the goal), Trubin is a giant between the sticks, making him a visual presence as well as being capable against any attacker.
  • Footwork - With the Play Style of Footwork, Trubin is well adept at using his feet when stopping the ball, which paired with his reflexes of 77, makes him extremely versatile as a last defence.
  • A Physical Goalie - Not only is he incredibly tall, but Trubin’s jumping stat of 62 and strength stat of 69 give him an overall physicality of 82, making him an absolute force for any team.

Anatoliy Trubin Full Details

1. Bart Verbruggen - Netherlands - Brighton (Premier League) - 21 Years Old - Overall 75 - Potential 85 - Transfer Cost £10m

Bart Verbruggen Real World Highlights

Coming through the Breda youth academy before a stint at RSC Anderlecht, Verbruggen joined Brighton in 2023 for €20m. Since joining the Seagulls, Verbruggen has been a back up keep, starting 12 games of 27, having only lost two of these 12. Impressing in the premier league, Verbruggen has now been called up to the Dutch national squad, earning 4 caps so far.

Without a doubt the most exciting option for any career mode, Verbruggen is my first pick for a goalkeeper for so many reasons. Whilst he only has the highest rating in one key attribute in this list (Reflexes at 80), he places in at second and third in 7 different stats as well as having the third highest overall and second highest potential. All of this is impressive enough to land the top spot, but for only £10m he is an extremely accessible option to walk into any starting line up and to stay there for the seasons to come.

  • Best Reflexes - With a rating of 80, Verbruggen has the best initial reflexes of the list, which paired with his diving of 77 and reactions of 75, make him a coiled spring ready to unload wherever the ball may go.
  • Consistent - Although he may not have the top rating in many stats, he does sit in the top 3 of this list for nearly all of the key goalkeeping stats, the only exception being positioning where he sits in 11th with a rating of 68.
  • Pacy - Verbruggen is not only quick with his reactions, but also has a rapid pace for a goalkeeper, with a speed rating of 56.
