Disney Speedstorm is a kart racing game which has a roster of Disney and Pixar characters. The gameplay is exciting and fast paced. The tracks are full of power-ups and boost pads to give players an edge on their opponents. Free-to-play is one of the most appealing features of this game. While there are in-game purchases available, Disney Speedstorm is great without having to spend money.

2. Game modes

Donald Duck is one of many characters available in the game.

There are two main game modes which are single and multiplayer. Within those categories there are subgenres and subsettings. A few examples are starter circuit,season tour,ranked multiplayer,regulated multiplayer and local freeplay. Players must complete tasks and reach certain checkpoints to keep unlocking new levels or chapters.

3. Chapters

Adding classic Disney characters to your team as you play throughout the chapters is so exciting.

There are three chapters in the starter circuit when you first start playing the game. Players will meet Mickey, Donald and finally Goofy in this game mode. It is your first encounter in this game and will teach you how to actually play. Completing the tasks within each chapter will help you earn rewards and unlock other parts of the game. You are also able to obtain materials to level up your racers.

4. Characters

There are so many wonderful characters in Disney Speedstorm

A racing game would be no fun without the choice of your favorite character. Disney and Pixar characters come together to create a unique and fun roster. Some of the most popular characters are Mulan, Meg, Hercules, Jack Sparrow, Belle, Beast, Mickey and Goofy. There are 37 characters total so there is sure to be a character suited for every player.

5. Skills

Skills or Power-ups really enhance gameplay.

Skills are special abilities players possess during gameplay. These skills or power-ups help aid players in winning the race. There are shields, boosts,bombs and others. They are an advantage and are found on the tracks as you race. The method of acquiring the skills is similar to other kart racing games.

6. Crew

Crew members are great for advancing your racing skills.

Crew members in Disney Speedstorm are awesome. They are used to alter the stats of your racer such as speed, handling and acceleration. There are three levels of crew member chips which are common,rare and epic. 

Crew members are also important for boosting skills.These crew members have different power points that overall just help bulk up and add power to your character so it is important to choose the right ones.This can be done in the crew tab.

7. Currencies

Currencies are vital for upgrading crew, characters and your vehicles.

There are different types of currencies or money in Disney Speedstorm. The three main types are Season Coins, Tokens, and Mp coins. Season coins are a golden color and reflect the current season that is happening. Tokens are blue with the game logo on them. Mp coins are gray with a pattern. While each currency does have a different use they mostly just help upgrade and purchase different in-game items. These forms of currency can be purchased or earned from completing races or special events.

8. Maps

There are so many beautiful places to race in this wonderful game.

Maps are the racing tracks available in-game. They are created to mirror original Disney and Pixar films. They are beautiful and nostalgic and really amplify the racing experience. From Beauty and the Beast to Hercules these tracks have so much to see with absolutely gorgeous animation. Disney as a brand has learned how to craft a truly immersive and exciting atmosphere.

9. Shards

Shards help improve racer's skills and aids in leveling up all characters.

Shards are essential for upgrading and unlocking racers and crew members. They are also specific to each character which means you can not mix and match.There are crew shards and racer shards and these are available in the shop. Skills are upgradeable by using these shards.

10. Upgrade Materials

Above is an example of a limited event materials list for upgrading your racers.

Upgrade materials are essential and beneficial to leveling up racers. These materials can be located in the shop, mystery boxes, a golden pass (like a battle pass) and in mystery boxes. These materials must be collected in their entirety before the upgrade can be applied. The farther into the game you go, the more materials are required for each upgrade.

11. Multiplayer

Playing with friends is always more fun.

Playing games with friends is one of the best things about video games. There are four ways to do this in Disney Speedstorm. Ranked multiplayer, regulated multiplayer, private track and local freeplay. Ranked multiplayer is for racing against other players to rank up or upgrade your racer. Regulated multiplayer is for those who want to race purely with their own skills and no upgrades which leads to a level playing field.. Private track is a quick race format where you send a coded invite to your chosen party. Last but not least, local freeplay is the only mode that offers split screen and internet isn’t required.

12. Season Tour

Seasonal events are fun and exciting to participate in.

The season tour is one of the coolest features of this game. It regularly receives updates seasonally and offers manyrewards. There are between 8 and 10 chapters in the season tour leaving plenty of racing to do. My favorite season is the Cave of Wonders featuring Aladdin characters such as Jasmine and Genie to name a couple. This might be the best feature that Disney Speedstorm offers.

13. Special Events

There are so many amazing characters and racing tracks to experience.

Seasonal events are limited time themed races that rotate and change. They feature various maps and characters. Players are able to complete these limited events in order to collect seasonal coins and tokens. Seasonal events are always so much fun because they offer something new and refreshing to gameplay.

14. Boss Battles

 Boss battles are challenging and exhilarating.

Boss battles are a big deal in racing games. Players race against a computer and must pull out all the stops to win. They are generally the most challenging races in the entire game. The satisfaction of giving it your all makes winning that much sweeter. Boss battles are tough but fun.

15. Last one standing

 Every player wants to be the last man standing.

The last one standing is an elimination race. Each racer begins with two or three white drones depending on the class of your racer. The goal is to evade all obstacles and make it to the finish line with your beginning drones intact. There are five red and black drones that will attack and eliminate you if you lose the drones you began with during the race. Every racer wants to be the last one standing, will it be you?
