Given its reach and superb lightning damage build up, the lightning spear is a hidden gem worth finding.

• Use a shield with if your feeling defensive

9. Demon's Catalyst

Acquired from a run-in with a pretty fierce and fiery demon in the very depths of Lordran, this catalyst is a weapon as fascinating as it is unique. Its melee attacks scale with intelligence and can be used as an outright fire weapon. A player will have to rely on dark sorcery to get the best of this catalyst, as while its standard magic is weaker on this catalyst than others, its dark sorcery is powerful even inflicting physical damage.

• Definitely the most badass looking catalyst in the game…

8. Abyss Greatsword

What many regard as the best of Artorias Greatswords, this weapon follows suit in requiring all round parameter building to wield it. Its reach is respectable with it being the same length as the claymore and able to deal out ranged damage accordingly. This heavy hitting greatsword move set is remarkable for stun locking and shield knocking, as well as turning enemies to mush.

What makes Abyss Greatsword Great 

• Awesome durability
• One handed special gives a two hit spinning attacks
• Two handed special gives a somersault over head attack
• Scales damage with humanity – up to 80 damage points

7. Chaos Blade  

Now, players be warned, the chaos blade will dish out huge damage with high humanity, but each successful hit will take a small chunk of your health! This katana has a move set of huge horizontal swings and large vertical swings, including a flamboyant 2 handed powerful attack. Living up to its title with 200 plus damage per fast slashing strike, any player with this weapon can wreak havoc across Lordran.

6. Hammer of Vamos

Not the most ethical of ways to get hold of an enchanted weapon, but a method nevertheless – kill the blacksmith in the catacombs and his work tool shall be yours to wield. Its fire damage modifier adds to what is not the most remarkable of physical damage, but with buffing both can be upped to a significant degree. Don’t take this hammer lightly, if its short sturdy reach connects, it can cause many an enemy trouble.

• Good stun locking and stamina damage
• C scaling in strength

5. Obsidian Greatsword

A powerful and brilliant weapon, earning its higher place up the list, however, the difficulty of acquiring it leaves it midway. Removing the tail of a certain dragon is a must to obtain this and will challenge the player. Yet, the enchantment available from this weapon comes from a devastating two handed strong attack, damaging all nearby with torrents of black flame. It’s a great sword in more ways than one, if you can earn it, enjoy it.

4. Dragon Slayer Spear

A spear of lightning damage and fantastic reach. Initially built and used by a dragon slaying boss and one of the most formidable opponents in the game. Getting to use this weapon may not be as easy as one may like. Should a player get hold of this thrust damage epic, the player is rewarded for scaling dexterity or faith… or both, should you choose.

3. Gargoyles Halberd

Considering how early in a playthrough this weapon can be acquired, what it has to offer a player is as remarkable as it is multitudinous. The choice of lightning, fire and magic damage are all available at their choosing, with great damage multipliers on each. Easily acquired, the choice is yours… though one choice in particular has a little extra spark.

• Can be upgraded in 10 different ways
• Easy requirement stats

2. Pyromancy Flame

There are several methods of acquiring pyromancy flame and its usage, not to mention simply starting the game as a pyromancer. This range attack gives the player projectiles effectively without the same demand of resources that arrows and bolts require. Fully buffed, this handy weapon can put up to near 200 damage on an enemy and can shape and make encounters.

• Easily acquirable 

How To Get Pyromancy Flame:

1. Quelaag's Furysword

One of the coolest weapons in the entire game and a brilliant, fail-safe introduction to the curved sword move set. Acquire the soul of Quelaag following her boss battle and ascend any curved sword weapon with the Giant Blacksmith to gain this gem. It has all the fast combo and flurry abilities of its class of weapon. Throw in amazing durability on top of damage multipliers and effects, this may well be the best elemental weapon in game.
