[Top 5] Control Best Mods That Are Most Useful

Control Best Mods That Are Most Useful

5. One Way Track (Shatter Weapon mod)

You look kind of small from up here.

Even though One Way Track is the lowest-rated mod on the list, it still works well with Shatter. Since Shatter serves as the game's equivalent of a shotgun and has accuracy problems, this modification substantially helps concentrate the damage and makes Shatter a more appealing alternative later on.

What makes One Way Track great:

  • Makes Shatter viable by focusing its damage to a more singular spot.
  • Very strong against the juggernaut type enemies, the ones with the grenade launchers.
  • Extremely deadly in close quarters due to increased damage and focused spread.

How to get One Way Track:

You can obtain this mod by doing the side mission Dead in its Tracks in the AWE expansion.

4. Spam Mail (Spin Weapon mod)

Don't look down, don't look down.

Due to its bonus of increasing damage by 100% following kills, Spam Mail causes spin to deal insane amounts of damage. By concentrating this fire, you can easily defeat some of the more difficult foes as Spin's damage starts to ratchet up quite a bit. Since Spin has a bit of a low damage output, this helps.

What makes Spam Mail great:

  • Increases damage at ludicrous speed, by the time you’re at the end of the combat, you’re killing Hiss insanely quickly.
  • Makes Spin a bit more viable since it has issues with damage output.
  • Balances out some of Spin’s other deficiencies like accuracy since you’ll do more damage on hit.

How to get Spam Mail:

You can get Spam Mail by completing the Return to Sender sidequest in the AWE expansion.

3. Thin Space (Charge Weapon mod)

About those TPS reports....

One of the best game mods is most likely Thin Space. It does this by increasing projectile velocity by 500%. Charge is already one of the finest weapons in the game due to its AoE damage and capacity to deal with large groups of foes huddled together, but with this version it becomes simpler to strike some of the faster enemies.

What makes Thin Space great:

  • Make it easier to kill those pesky flying Hiss by increasing the projectile speed on one of the strongest weapons.
  • Boosts the uptime of rockets so that you can fire off more of them at once, increasing damage.
  • By level 3, this is very strong since the rockets have a sort of singularity effect that pulls some enemies in.

How to get Thin Space:

You can get Thin Space by completing the side mission in AWE called Gerbil Took the Top Head.

2. Eternal Fire (Grip Weapon mod)

I said I wanted a chocolate shake!

The second-best mod you can obtain is Eternal Fire. With this special modification for the Grip weapon, an already adaptable weapon becomes even more lethal. As a result, the weapon has a 100% chance of returning ammo on impact. This means that you never run out of ammunition as long as you hit your target.

What makes Eternal Fire great:

  • Makes an already versatile weapon more deadly through having lower down time.
  • Increases damage output by having to reload less.
  • Encourages being accurate as you gain ammo when hitting a target.

How to get Eternal Fire:

You get Eternal Fire from completing the Furnace TVs sidequest which can only be obtained after the Burn the Trash mission you get from Ahti. The quest is simple, find all the TVs in the furnace and throw them into the furnace to claim the reward.

1. Aerobics (Personal Weapon mod)

I used to be quite the handball player back in the day.

One of the best and most original game mods is Aerobics. In Control, avoiding and escaping adversaries' mental attacks is essential to surviving the Oldest House. This mod checks two boxes with one action by regaining 50% of your health on each dodge. It doesn’t make mention of successful evades, just evades in general. You still receive the 50% recovery on the evasion even if you are a little late or tank a shot. You have excellent survivability as a result of this.

What makes Aerobics great:

  • Health recovery at a great percentage which helps you stay topped up.
  • Encourages evading which some people might not do.
  • Provides survivability which helps in some of the harder areas

How to get Aerobics:

Aerobics is only obtained in the AWE expansion and you can get it by traveling to the Shifted Offices in the Investigations Sector. After this, you’ll have to look for a wall you can smash open. Smash this wall and you find a secret room. In the room lies a clock, interact with the clock and press the square or X button when the hand is on the following numbers: 1, 7, 7, 2, 6, 4, 9, 7. The ground will break and you’ll have to fly over to the red room leading to a room in the Oceanview Motel. Collect your reward.
