Chivalry 2 Best Class - What Should You Play?

Each one kills differently.

Chivalry 2 has 4 classes in total, for each one of these classes, you can unlock new weapons and enjoy special abilities that benefit you, as well as your team. Of course, each class has a different amount of health points and stamina, so you might want to consider those things as well before picking a specific class.

But there’s more - each class has 4 subclasses as well but we’re gonna describe them more thoroughly as we progress into this article. Without further ado, let’s begin:

4. Archer

These guys are known for speed, stealth, as well as ranged weapons. You’re not gonna survive for too long by being in the middle of a skirmish, so you should stay behind the lines and let your tanky teammates do the job.

Subclasses:

1. Longbowman:

These guys are great for setting on fire their enemies, as well as assisting their teammates during massive battles. Extremely squishy but at least they’re mobile. More info:

  • Can spawn a brazier, where he can ignite his arrows and inflict more damage on his enemies
  • Deals 25% more headshot damage with arrows and other projectiles
  • Can zoom in to get more accurate shots

Weapons:

  • Primary: Bow, War Bow
  • Secondary: Knife, Hatchet, Shortsword, Cudgel
  • Item: Spike Wall

2. Crossbowman:

While these guys can easily deal with more armored targets, they have to reload their crossbows in a stationary position, which leaves them vulnerable against flankers and other sneaky bastards that go around the frontline. More info:

  • Bolts from the crossbow are more effective against armored targets, such as Knights, Raiders, and Footmen
  • Ranged attacks deal 25% more damage to the head
  • Can plant a banner that heals nearby allies

Weapons:

  • Primary: Crossbow
  • Secondary: Knife, Shortsword, Cudgel, Axe
  • Item: Pavise

3. Skirmisher

He’s equipped with a Javelin, a weapon that you can stab your enemies with multiple times, in a short amount of time. Although he’s a “skirmisher”, he’s still weak in terms of HP - if you’re not careful, you’re gonna get 1-shotted. More info:

  • Javelins, Throwing Axes are effective as ranged, as well as melee weapons
  • +25% more damage with headshots
  • Equipped with a quiver, which restores all ammunition
  • Leaping strike is a sort of attack that charges your enemy and deals massive amounts of damage on a hit

Weapons:

  • Primary: Javelin, Throwing Axe
  • Secondary: Knife, Falchion, Mace, Axe
  • Item: Light Shield, Bear Trap

3. Footman

Footmen are more armored than Archers and have more health but slightly less stamina. If the game is going bad, Footmen are known for creating great barricades that can put the enemy team in a chokehold, as well as their polearms, which have a high range and great crowd control capabilities.

Subclasses:

1. Poleman

If you value mediocre damage and high-range weapons, then this class is definitely for you. Horizontal strikes can hurt multiple people at once and keep them away from you and your teammates. More info:

  • 25% bonus sprint attack damage
  • Equipped with throwable bandages that can heal your teammates
  • Slightly vulnerable to ranged attacks

Weapons:

  • Primary: Halberd, Polehammer, Spear, Glaive
  • Secondary: Knife, Hatchet, Shortsword, Cudgel
  • Item: Spike Wall

2. Man-at-arms

These guys are known for wielding 1-handed weapons, as well as shields if you fancy extra protection. They’re agile and can easily outperform heavy sword-wielding players if they know what they’re doing. More info:

  • 10% increase in movement speed if wielding a 1-handed weapon
  • Dash cooldown reduced by 50%
  • Throwable bandages that heal you, plus your teammates

Weapons:

  • Primary: Sword, Morning Star, Falchion, One-Handed Spear, Rapier, Heavy Calvary Sword
  • Secondary: Knife, Axe, Shortsword, Mace
  • Item: Medium Shield

3. Field Engineer

Engineers can build bear traps, as well as spike traps to hurt and even kill their opponents. They can also create barricades, which block enemies from achieving their objectives. Having a few of those guys on your team can turn the tide of battle. More info:

  • Deals 100% more damage to barricades
  • Reviving teammates heals you for 25%
  • Worthless in actual combat
  • Equipped with throwable bandages

Weapons:

  • Primary: Shovel, Sledgehammer, Pick Axe
  • Secondary: Spike Trap, Bear Trap

2. Knight

These bad boys can take a beating because of their health pool(175HP, the highest amount from any other class). They’re also known for carrying heavy weaponry that can obliterate enemies with a well-placed strike. Despite being tanky, they’re vulnerable to chop-and-blunt damage, so you might wanna be careful of whom you’re up against.

Subclasses:

1. Officer

The officer can be equipped with swords, axes, as well as hammers. His trumpet also heals nearby allies, which can easily turn the tide of battle. More info:

  • Durable, can withstand a beating

  • A variability of weapons

Weapons:

  • Primary: Longsword, War Axe, Heavy Mace, Pole Axe, Greatsword
  • Secondary: Sword, Axe, Mace
  • Item: Throwing Knife

2. Guardian

This subclass has the most armor and is great at holding off multiple enemies at once, although not forever. He still relies on his other teammates but his presence alone makes it hard for enemies to penetrate through an objective. More info:

  • Very durable
  • Can plant a banner, which heals your nearby allies
  • The tackle can knock over enemies and leave them vulnerable for a short period

Weapons:

  • Primary: Warhammer, Axe, Falchion, One-handed Spear, Heavy Calvary Sword
  • Secondary: Hatchet, Short Sword, Mace
  • Item: Heavy Shield

3. Crusader

This feller focuses primarily on attacking his opponents, he’s equipped with all the tools needed to burn, behead, or crush the bones of whoever he’s facing. He also doesn’t have to worry about dying too fast, due to his HP and armor. More info:

  • Can throw oil pots, which ignite the ground in a small radius
  • Equipped with powerful weaponry in the primary slot
  • Throwing Axes can be used to deal with enemies from afar, especially useful if you’re wounded

Weapons:

  • Primary: Messer, Battle Axe, Two-Handed Hammer, Executioners Axe, Quarterstaff
  • Secondary: Axe, Falchion, Morning Star
  • Item: Throwing Axe

1. Vanguard

The Vanguard is equipped with some memorable blades, like the Highlander Sword. He’s not squishy but he has less HP than the Officer and the Footman, although he doesn’t take any extra damage from weaponry that deals blunt and chop damage.

Subclasses:

1. Devastator

Devastator’s weapons are known for being powerful but slow, a well-placed strike can easily 1-shot an Archer and sometimes even a Footman. To add more, this subclass is great for flanking and dealing damage to multiple people at once, thanks to their weaponry. More info:

  • Capable of wielding heavy weapons with no debuff to your movement speed
  • Oil pots can be used to burn alive your enemies. Also, your teammates if you’re not careful!

  • Secondary: Knife

  • Can throw the secondary weapon and deal a lot of damage
  • Each weapon has a different purpose(range, damage, etc)

  • Secondary: Dane Axe, Messer, Two-Handed Hammer, Glaive
