For our fallout fans, we had to include this mod on the list. Old World Blues: Legacy is a mod that indulges players in the Fallout world in Hearts of Iron IV! It is a complete overhaul of the base game and gives players a chance to truly experience this post-apocalyptic world.

For many fans of the My Little Pony Universe, or “Bronies” this seems to be a perfect fit. Equestria at War brings this particular universe to Hoi 4, with all its characters and lore. Despite its niche audience, it is a very well-done mod, and it is sure to be a fun time for everyone.

You have the option to choose any nation in this period, and to decide which alliance will you join, to turn the tide of the war.

Our first alternate scenario of the list is called Thousand Week Reich. This mod explores the world in which the Axis powers won the Second World War and reshaped Europe to their will. On the other side of the Atlantic stands a defiant USA which is readying itself for the inevitable conflict. You player, have two options in this mod, either fight to preserve the Nazi order in Europe, or fight for the liberation of mankind! The choice is yours.

Second place in this top 10 list has to go to Road to 56. Road to 56 offers a new and in depth experience to the base game, adding flavor to many nations in the game. It adds many new events, focus trees, technologies and many more features that the base game does not have.
