Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a much shorter game than Marvel’s Spider-Man from 2018.  But even though this game can be completed in under ten hours, you still get four epic boss fights that easily ranks  up there with the best in the Spider-Man franchise. 

In this game, each boss is more difficult than the last. So if you’re stuck trying to beat one of these foes, this guide will get you swinging around the city again. 

4. The Rhino

Can’t get more classic than the Rhino.

Description:

The Rhino is a classic Spiderman super-villain who wears a Rhino-shaped metal suit. He may not be the smartest villain, but his brute strength and ferocity makes him one of Peter Parker's most dangerous foes.

The Rhino has been around since 1994 and is often one of the first bosses you fight in any game featuring Spiderman.

Why You Fight Him: 

Within the first fifteen minutes of the game, The Rhino escapes from the cops, thanks to a mistake that Miles makes. 

Now it’s up to Miles and Peter Parker to put him back in his cage. 

How To Take Down The Rhino:

Miles is a brand new Spiderman who’s not ready for a challenge like this. That means it’s going to take a lot to take him down. 

Phase 1 

• The first stage of this fight is a wild goose chase around the city. All you can do is swing as fast as you can to catch up to the Rhino. 
• The Rhino will toss debris at you constantly. Tap Circle when prompted to avoid damage. 

Phase 2 

• Eventually, Rhino will lead you through a busy mall, smashing everything in his way. Your job is to jump on his back and guide him away from any pedestrians in his path. 
• Rhino will try his best to knock you off. Press Triangle to jump back on. 
• Make sure not to hit any of the standing ad displays. These will cause damage to you, not him. 

Phase 3

• Once you make it out of the mall, you will finally corner him at an industrial plant.  It’s here where you will learn your venom shock power in a cutscene. 
• Dodge all of his attacks, then hit him with venom shock. 
• Repeat this process three times to get to the last phase. 

Phase 4

• Rhino will smash you through a wall, and the fight will take place inside the industrial plant. 
• Rhino will now be more erratic and tougher to dodge. Pay close attention to your spider sense and hit Circle when prompted. 
• Once you find an opening, stun him with venom shock, then jump on his back and guide him into a wall. 
• Do this three times, and you will finally knock him out.

3. The Rhino (Fight 2)

A more powerful Rhino? Not good. 

Description:

It’s Rhino again, but this time he’s sporting advanced Krieger Tech. 

Why You Fight Him: 

About 60% into the game, Miles and his childhood friend Phin get captured by Simon Krieger. 

While Miles and Phin try to escape, they get cornered by The Rhino. A much more powerful Rhino than the last time you fought him. 

How To Take Down The Rhino (Again): 

 The goal in this fight is to knock all that fancy tech off of him o so he can take  damaged.

Phase 1: 

• Use your spider sense to dodge all his attacks. 
• When he’s open, press Triangle to jump on the Rhino’s back. Then guide him into the giant tanks around the room. 

Phase 2: 

• This stage is a repeat of the first stage of this fight, except now you have to deal with more goons thrown your way. 
• Try to ignore as many goons as you can and focus on The Rhino. If the goons weigh you down, web them up to keep them busy. 
• Jump on Rhino’s back and guide him into the tanks around the room. Do this three times to get to the next phase. 

Phase 3: 

• Once you’ve knocked all the new tech off of Rhino, the fight boils down to a normal Rhino fight. 
• Hit him with every attack you have to stun him. Then, use a finisher (Triangle + Circle) to do massive damage. 
• Do this enough times, and he will be too weak to continue.

2. The Prowler 

It’s never easy fighting your Uncle. 

Description: 

The Prowler (real name Aaron Davis) is a thief for hire. He has an advanced super suit that gives him super strength, super speed, and the ability to cloak himself. 

Most importantly, The Prowler is Miles’ Uncle. 

Why You Fight Him: 

The Prowler abducts Miles in order to protect him from the bad guys. That’s not Miles’ style. The two of them battle it out in a subway station. 

How To Take Down The Prowler:

The Prowler is super fast and can go invisible, just like Miles. To defeat him, you’ll need to exercise some patience. 

Phase 1: 

• The Prowler will keep going invisible, appear out of nowhere, and attack. 
• Use your spider sense to avoid each attack, then wait for your opportunity to strike.  
• Once you see an opening, web him up and hit him with every attack you have. 

Phase 2: 

• Prowler will start tossing explosives at you and blast you from afar. 
• Use the same basic tactics as above, but this time you can try swinging any random debris around you at the Prowler to stun him before attacking. 

Phase 3: 

• This is the toughest part of the fight, where Prowler will create duplicates of himself, making you second guess which one of him you should attack. 
• If you hit one of the duplicates, it will glitch out a bit. This will tell you that you’re fighting one of the fake Prowlers. 
• To make this stage easier, keep webbing every version of Prowler you see. If you see some glitching, then you know not to attack that Prowler. 
• Once you find the real Prowler, hit him with every attack and finisher you have.

1. The Tinkerer

Fighting his childhood best friend? Man, Miles can’t catch a break. 

Description: 

The Tinkerer (real name: Phin Mason) is Miles Morales’ best friend from childhood. She’s the leader of the Underground and wants to make New York a better place. 

Unfortunately, she’s willing to kill anyone in her way to make that possible. 

Why You Fight Her: 

These two childhood friends finally come face to face over Nuform, a new energy technology that the Tinkerer thinks will help the city, but it will actually destroy it. 

This is the last boss in the game. The final obstacle before Miles can save the city. 

How To Defeat The Tinkerer: 

This fight is not just difficult because of the drama between these two characters, but because of how fast and deadly the Tinkerer is. 

Phase 1

• The fight starts off normal. The Tinkerer will swing her nano-tech-like cables at Miles, flip over to a new area of the room, and do it again. 
• Use your spider sense each time she swings at you to avoid damage. 
• When you find an opening, use Triangle to whip over to her and attack. 

Phase 2 

• In this stage, Tinkerer will keep a good amount of distance from you and repeatedly blast at you from afar. 
• Use L1 & L2 to swing random items in the room at the Tinkerer to stun her. 
• Once she’s stunned, hit Triangle to zip straight to her and hit her with as many combos as you can. 

Phase 3 

• The third stage is very similar to the second one. This time, Tinkerer’s attacks are more powerful and harder to avoid.
• Use the same basic tactics as above, swinging objects at Tinkerer to stun her, then zip toward her and hit her with a combo or finisher. 
• Repeat this tactic three times to finally stop her.
