Mafia 3 May Be In The Pipelines

Should the fans get excited now?

Take-Two Interactive Registering And Recruiting For Video Game Series

It was spotted earlier that Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Games who brought us the Mafia series, were busy registering domain names with the names of “mafia3thegame.com,” “mafiaiiithegame.com,” “mafiathree.com,” and “mafiathreethegame.com”. Sources state that these domains have been registered on June 25. Either there’s a Mafia 3 waiting to be announced, or they are fanning the flames of the hype.

Take-Two Interactive has already put out word in Actors Access with the purpose of hiring three main actors for an untitled video game. Requisite qualifications include having “Actor Must Have A Louisiana Accent” and “Actor Must Have Italian Accent/ Should Be Light With Southern Character”, making it all but obvious that the game being developed would probably be a Louisiana-based mobster game. So naturally the Mafia series is the first to spring to mind.

All this news is more than enough to get Mafia fans excited. Unfortunately, E3 has come and gone this year without 2K making a whisper on this topic. Mafia II came out in August 2010, and the fans think a sequel is way overdue at this point.
