12. The Elder Scrolls Online: Dark Brotherhood

This trailer starts promisingly with the iconic bloody handprint of the assassins’ guild, the Dark Brotherhood, stark against a black background. The first assassination unfolds with a shadowy figure approaching an unsuspecting victim from behind. It flops from there and you will soon be snoozing as predictable stabbings, spurting blood, and repetitive death groans takeover in total tedium.

11. The Elder Scrolls Online - E3 2017 Trailer

The viewer watches reaction videos of fans watching the trailer to the Morrowind addition to The Elder Scrolls Online. This hits near the bottom, listening to the squawking female and solemn male fans and trailer mash-up. There are some pretty funny quote cards interspersed.

10. The Elder Scrolls Online - E3 2012 Teaser Trailer

This is exactly what it’s named - teaser. A horned warrior raising his axe, a slender mage holding a green glowing spell, and a hooded figure in moonlight are shown. It ends abruptly with the Elder Scrolls icon, but leaves the audience wanting more. 

9. The Elder Scrolls Online - The Game Awards Trailer

Hordes of elven soldiers stand ready, horse-mounted cavalry tears across the land, and the Wardens ride their strong bears into the fray. Mages throw shock spells at huge spiders in a fast-cut frenzy of destruction. Not a lot in the way of explanation, except the black quote shots. 

8. The Elder Scrolls Online - Announcement Trailer

The building music grows as the voiceover commands the attention of the viewer. The darkness reveals light playing over scaly shapes, finally ending in the joining of the symbol of the game, the circle of lion, eagle and dragon.

7. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind – Warden Gameplay Trailer

Looking over a lush landscape, a Redguard male conjures magical winged beasts and fights with powerful bear companions. Swirling blue magic shows the power of the Wardens, conjuring trees from nothing, as they travel through dangerous swamps and skirt fierce volcanoes.

6. The Elder Scrolls Online – The Three Fates Cinematic Trailer

Although these are strictly separate trailers, put them together and you get a short movie, complete with cliffhanger. No gameplay is involved but the computer-generated imagery is astounding. 

6a. The Elder Scrolls Online - The Alliances Cinematic Trailer

A bulky horned warrior fights the Bonewolf abominations of rotting meat underground, while the slender mage scales a rope up the high walls and smites her enemies with glowing green magic. A hooded figure makes his entrance with a distinctly debonair fashion, swinging gracefully from a grapnel in the side of the castle. 
The end of the trailer brings all three together, circling one another in distrust and ready for the fight. 

6b. The Elder Scrolls Online - The Arrival Cinematic Trailer

Massive chains bolt down from Coldharbour and anchor in the earth of Tamriel. A warrior, a mage, and thief battle against a bulbous Flesh Atronach that bares its sharp fangs. The mage breaks a chain and brings down an avalanche of stonework, crushing all around.

6c. The Elder Scrolls Online - The Siege Cinematic Trailer

Dodging swords and blows, Scamps scurry into the chaos of battle. Argonians roar their fury and the attack of an enormous wall begins. The mage is captured and her magic harnessed to destroy the stonework of the castle before she escapes to wreak havoc on the attacking army.

6d. The Elder Scrolls Online – The Confrontation Cinematic Trailer 

A hulking brute fights a pale, scarred and masked adversary in a high courtyard.Appearing to succumb at first, he suddenly holds the dark figure over a towering drop. As he falls, the masked figure lashes out at his opponent. The brute defeats the opponent, leaving him to die, and races into a dark and sinister chamber, where a white-haired elf meets him for battle.

5.The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind Announcement Trailer

An assassin begs a contract to murder a traitor and is granted her wish. A corpulent Dunmer male turns to see the malicious smile of another dark elf - the assassin. As he flees, chaos breaks loose: dwarven spheres attack and the assassin's companions leap to her aid, including a great bear that smashes the machines to pieces.

4. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind - Return to Morrowind

Haunting music opens to an ashen landscape of volcanoes and huge mushrooms. The Dunmer warriors stand waiting against the dark night sky and then display their power in smiting Cliffracers. Brandishing swords, the air is filled with spells that takes down a huge fire daemon, while sneaky Scamps stalk the warriors through purple smog.

3. The Elder Scrolls Online - E3 2013 Gameplay Trailer

The chains of Coldharbour burst from a tear in the sky and a pale army in chains wait silently. Against the backdrop of enormous fungi and imposing palaces, warriors and bands of fighters use fiery chains to conquer their reptilian foes. 

2. The Elder Scrolls Online – One Tamriel Launch Trailer

The golden map of Tamriel is spread before you. The divide of the Argonian marsh, the Kahjiit’s lush homeland, and the metropolis of the Imperials finally unite. The view sweeps from the lone traveller in icy lakes and stony ruins to the bands of explorers in lava strewn lands and ivy-covered forests.

12. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind – Official Launch Trailer (4K)

Under the watchful eye of Nocturnal’s statue, a band of dark elves in chitin armor gather by a stream of lava. A Dreugh attacks, only to be blasted back by a jet of fire from a staff. All the while, overhead hangs a vast glowing object in the sky, as a Warden and his bear prepare to fight a giant, glowing dwarven Colossus.
