10 Best Tank Games To Play in 2015: Page 8 of 10
3. Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad
Half-tracks are pretty awesome, too!
Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is not a tank simulator. But it might as well be.
This game is a realistic tactical first person shooter set in World War II. Sorry noobs, no ammo counters or Wolverine-like regenerating health, here! Aside from diving from cover to cover to avoid gunfire, you can also perforate your enemies from within the safety of your tank.
At launch, Red Orchestra 2 only shipped with two tanks: the Soviet T-34 and the German Panzer IV Ausf. F2. But they are so incredibly detailed and handle so spectacularly that they rival those found in tank simulators. DLCs saw the introduction of a duo of armored personnel carriers and two more tanks – the Soviet T-70 and the German Panzer III Ausf. M.
Because Red Orchestra 2 values realism, controlling a tank doesn’t turn you into an invincible, mechanical god of war. There’s an art to becoming an effective tanker, and it involves knowing your tank, from its speed and the toughness of its armor to how you should angle it so that it sustains the least amount of damage from enemies.
A fantastic war simulator, and one of the most exceptional tank games!
