9.DRAGONBALL FIGHTERZ

Insane combos in Dragonball FighterZ

Charge up your KI and fly into battle because it's time to fight! Dragonball FighterZ is a 2D fighting game with all your classic Dragonball characters. Yes, even Yamcha is in this one. Don't expect the typical story arcs to be told in this game however. This original story is about clones of the original Z-fighters raising hell on the planet. This is the part where the Goku and friends come in to save the day right? Not this time, a mysterious energy left everyone too weak to fight these clones. That's where you come in as a soul and take over each body to fight off these clones and find out why this is happening. The most interesting part of this story mode is that you can follow it in three different arcs. The Super Warriors arc, the Enemy Warrior arc, and Android 21 arc and each ends with a different conclusion. The fights are intense you'll be lost in the moment as your  screen is filled with beams of colorful energies as you face off in matches of 3v3. The best thing about this game is the dialogue to see Cell’s reaction to Adult Gohan. It’s hilarious.

Uhm Trunks...I think one slash was enough.

Teen Gohan’s  game face sends shivers!

8. ATTACK ON TITAN 2

Attack On Titan 2 gameplay

Fill your gas tanks and sharpen your blades because the Titans are inside the wall! This intense hack and slash title follows your custom character as you experience the story of Attack on Titan from your point of view. Get ready to feel butterflies in your stomach as you use your omni directional gear to soar through the air dodging the swipes of hungry titans and countering with a strike to the nape of their necks. You can build relationships with the members of the scout regiment and unlock new skills to use to take down your foes. Build new gear to help you take down these giants with ease, grace, and ferocity. Construct handy new bases to either help with your defenses or just be resupply stations. Team up on online co-op to take down Titans with your friends and save the last home of humanity. If you want a little bit of friendly competition, check out annihilation mode where two teams of 4 are competing to see who can take down the most Titans. This game is just plain fun and exciting and it's definitely worth checking out.

Looking quite good in that outfit soldier!

Caught this one by surprise.

7. DOKI DOKI LITERATURE CLUB

Doki Doki Literature Club gameplay

Doki Doki isn't your average visual novel dating sim. There is a reason why one of the tags on steam is psychological horror. I don't want to tell you too much about this game but safe to say, it caught me by surprise. You play as the protagonist and in the beginning you join the Doki Doki Literature Club with these four other girls, Sayori, Monika, Yuri, and Natsuki. At first, you would play it as your typical dating sim but this is where things begin to get really disturbing. Glitches start appearing and things aren't really the same after act 1. The best thing about this game is how deep the lore goes and how the characters have different sides to them. You have different dialogue options like your typical dating sim but be careful what you say and do because the consequences could be dire. If you want to get your heart beating a few ticks faster then I would recommend playing this game.

Go on, take her hand, I'm sure nothing will happen.

The gang's all here!

Awe Monika!

6. FINAL FANTASY XV

Final Fantasy XV gameplay Trailer

Food? Check. Car filled with gas? Check. Black leather outfits? Quadruple check. It's time for a road trip you will never forget. Final Fantasy XV follows the story of Noctis and his royal guards/brothers in arms to reclaim the kingdom that was taken by the Niflheim. Prompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus are simply amazing. They aren't just simple NPCs that help you win the fight. They are fleshed out characters with different motivations and you can explore that with them. The world is massive and driving around is an experience in and of itself. Lush green pastures contrasted by the wide open skies all while music from other Final Fantasy titles fill your ears. The combat is fluid and fast paced! That’s right, they have done away with turn based combat this time around and replaced it with real time! Fight to survive with powerful summons such as the Titan, Ramuh, and much more! When they arrive to the scene you know you will be in for a good time.

Time to explore: Noctis enjoying the city.

Picture perfect: I bet Prompto would love this.

5. NI NO KUNI 2: REVENANT KINGDOM

Ni No Kuni 2 gameplay

What would you do if you found yourself suddenly transported into a new world where a boy king is caught in the middle of a coup? Well Ni No Kuni 2 sets to answer that question as you follow Roland and Evan, the boy king of Ding Doll Dell, to fight to reclaim the kingdom! The art style of this game is a beautiful tribute to classic anime styles that could be seen in movies like Kiki’s Delivery Service or My Neighbor Totoro. It's beautiful, bright, and enjoyable to watch. Unlike most JRPGs which are slow to start, Ni No Kuni 2 has steady pacing and intense moments of gameplay that will tug on your heartstrings just a bit. Take control of the army and fight other armies in the new skirmishes mode and build your kingdom. Switch characters on the fly in the revamped combat system. If you love the classic anime artwork and a deep story, Ni No Kuni 2 is right up your alley.

Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum: you thought you had a complicated name.

Look at that! Nothing like a big hammer to bring the pain!

4. ONE PIECE PIRATE WARRIORS 3

One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 gameplay

From Luffy’s eccentric gum-gum fighting style to Ace’s fire and explosive attacks. You will feel like you're the badass pirate you deserve to be!

Slice! Cut through them like butter!

Hot damn! Love the fancy footwork Sanji!

Teaming up! Luffy & Zoro, the perfect combo!

3. NIER AUTOMATA

Nier Automata gameplay

What happens when Platinum Games and Square Enix decide to collaborate? You get a post-apocalyptic, deeply developed, highly replayable world where you fight robots to make the world a safer place for humanity. You get Nier Automata. This game is set in a future where mankind was driven out by machine lifeforms. Eventually they created androids to be sent down to Earth in order to eradicate the machines and take back Earth. You get to control an android called 2B, a badass combat android, partnered with a pod that can assist you in battle. The combat in this game is incredible and highly customizable which is great. This is a semi-open world JRPG with many secrets left in store for you to find. Now, I mentioned replayability would be high. There is a reason for that. Nier Automata has, stay with me, 26 different endings! That's right, 26 different ways to end this fabulous game. That is, if the requirements are met...

It was at that moment 2B realized, she was going to need a bigger sword.

if they didn't drive humans out of the world, I would feel bad for this machine.

2. TEKKEN 7

Tekken 7 gameplay

Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Tekken 7 concludes the 20 year Mishima family feud. Choose from a selection of 30 unique fighters from a large panda to the street fighter icon, Akuma! Push your enemies to the edge and hit them hard to knock them out into a totally new stage! Fight on top of an erupting volcano or in the technological marvel of the Mishima building. Use devastating rage arts to turn the tides of the battle! This isn't your typical fighting game. This is one of the best fighting games. Fight to claim the title of King of All Fighters

RAGE: No one messes with Akuma.

Unlucky for you: She may be cute but she's also dangerous!

OUCH: He will definitely feel that.
