[Top 10] Starfield Best Reactors (Ranked)

Every grav jump feels as if you're going into another reality. Every-time Heller's on board it makes him sick

Starfield is the next big RPG for Bethesda studios. While it's not really a space exploration game it does take starships and space flight to another level. In this game you can build a variety of ship combinations using many different parts.

Speaking of parts, today we’ll be talking about the top 10 best reactors. Reactors are the hub that keeps your vessel's systems running smoothly. It's a power source and the life line that fuels all of the ship's operation and without it your ship is as good as toast.

10. 360T Stellarator Reactor

This reactor has been to countless planets and is the frontier gem.

The 360T Stellarator Reactor is the best early game reactor. It provides the highest power at 20 without requiring any skills, so you will be able to purchase it even if you're not investing skill points in Starship Design. In my opinion this reactor is the best for early game but gets drowned out by the rest of this list.

Why 360T Stellarator Reactor is Great:

  • It has high power. Because its power starts at 20 this makes it reliable for any early game ship.

360T Stellarator Reactor Details:

  • Class - A
  • Power Generated - 20
  • Reactor Health - 32
  • Hull - 440
  • Crew Capacity - 1
  • Value - 17860
  • Mass - 32

9.Tokamak X-300 Reactor

This was an experimental device capable of harnessing fusion energy.

The tokamak is the second best for early game. It provides a higher power of 29 without requiring skills. Because it's a class A reactor you wont need points into starship design to use it. In my opinion the reactor is good for defense such as shields.

Why Tokamak X-300 Reactor is Great:

  • It gives your ship better defense. Because this has a power of 29 you can buy a better shield early on for your ship.
  • It's not expensive. You can buy this shield for an easy 40,600 credits. This is not that bad because as you play the game and complete side quests, credits become an abundance.

Tokamak X-300 Reactor Details:

  • Class - A
  • Base Value - 8850 Credits
  • Mass - 25
  • Hull - 375
  • Crew Capacity - 1
  • Power Generated - 16

8. Z-Machine 4000 Reactor

This reactor looks like something straight out of Back to the future.

The Z-Machine 4000 reactor is the best B-class ship reactor in Starfield and has the stats to back up this claim. It has a required level of 49, as well as a required piloting rank of three and a ship design of four. This reactor generates 35 power and has a remarkable 75 health and 3.75 repair rate. The cost for this is 60,700 credits, but getting the best B-class reactor in the game is worth the price, especially if it matches your ship build.

Why Z-Machine 4000 reactor is Great:

  • High health. The one great thing about this reactor is its surprising health. The rating of 75 adds to the total health of your starship.

Z-Machine 4000 Reactor Details :

  • Class - B
  • Base Value - 60700 Credits
  • Mass - 75
  • Hull - 995

7. Ion Beam H-1030 Reactor

Whoever made this reactor got their inspiration from iron man.

This reactor requires you to achieve piloting rank 3 and starship design rank 4. It is a class B reactor with a 3.45 repair rate and 69 reactor health. It generates 31 power for your ship and costs 51,000 credits. In my opinion for its value, this reactor offers a lot of well-rounded and valuable stats early on.

Why The Ion Beam H-1030 Reactor is Great:

  • It comes with a crew capacity. Most reactors in Starfield don't have crew capacity and are usually saved for the crew quarters, so this is one of the reasons the reactor is great. You can combine your crew size to have a total of 4 or 5 if you use the reactor and a crew Habitation module.

Ion Beam H-1030 Reactor Details:

  • Class - B
  • Base Value - 51000 Credits
  • Mass - 69
  • Hull - 975
  • Crew Capacity - 2

6. Spheromak DC202 Reactor

The spheromak with its circular design makes it a good piece to look at.

The Spheromak DC202 makes number 6 on this list. It's an A-class reactor with a mass of 45. It generates 33 energy and has a crew capacity of 1. The Spheromak costs 48,700 credits, and its solid stats and impressive health make it valid for this list. In my opinion it would be the third best reactor for class A ships.

Why the Spheromak DC202 Reactor is Great:

  • It’s price. Like mentioned in this list already credits become a thing of the past once your a high level (Level 30 and up)
  • It has low mass. This makes the reactor great because when you use your ship builder, there is a required mass that your ship has to meet in order to finish its modification. Any part that has a mass below 50 is considered small in Starfield.

Spheromak DC202 Reactor Details:

  • Class - A
  • Base Value - 48700 Credits
  • Mass - 45
  • Hull - 730
  • Crew Capacity - 1

Starts like a dream every time.

The DC303 Fast Ignition reactor is a class B ship reactor. It requires you to be level 51, have a piloting rank of three, and a ship design rank of four. This reactor offers 35 power generation, an impressive 69 reactor health, and a 3.45 repair rate. In my opinion what makes this reactor worthy to be on this list is the impressive reactor health.

Why The DC303 Fast Ignition reactor is Great:

  • Repair rate. This is good because the repair rate of 3.45 adds to the repair rate of the entire ship
  • Power generation. With a power rating of 35, that gives you more than enough to keep every system at 100% and still have extra power for the grav drive.

DC303 Fast Ignition reactor Details:

4. Theta Pinch B9 Reactor

Imagine the original Pinch reactor but with better upgrades.

This is number 4 on the list for several reasons. The theta Pinch is a class C ship reactor. It requires you to have a piloting skill of 3 and level 51. The reactor health is 96 and the crew capacity is 3 making it in my opinion one of the best reactors in the game. The downside is that it cost 44,000 credits to purchase.

Why The Theta Pinch B9 Reactor is Great:

  • Crew capacity. The capacity is 3 which is great for adding more crew to your ship to have a total of 6 members.
  • High Health. By far one of the higher health reactors in its class and on this list. The 96 rating really comes in handy late game.

The Mag reactor kinda sounds like a rail gun but the power it produces makes it sound like the Z machine.

The Mag is one of the best reactors for class B ships. It provides 39 power which is one of the highest in the game. In my opinion both of those traits alone make this reactor worthy to be on this list. Furthermore this reactor can be purchased early in the game if you already have the piloting skill.

Why 104DS Mag Inertial Reactor is Great:

  • You can use it early in the game. Early game for Starfield is around 17 or 20. By then if you were doing enough quests you can easily go to a spaceport and purchase this before you even complete 5 of the main story quests.

104DS Mag Inertial Reactor Details:

  • Mass - 71

2. SF40 Sheared Flow Reactor

The sheared flow does exactly what the name says. It flows and keeps your ship alive.

For #2 on this list we have the Sheared Flow. This reactor is arguably the best you can get in the settled systems for it has a power of 40! But It has a level requirement of 57 and a required piloting and starship design rank of four which in my opinion is still worth the wait. Because by the time you get this reactor your ship will be close to untouchable.

Why SF40 Sheared Flow Reactor is Great:

  • It has one of the best power ratings in the game. By far there is no other reactor that can match the power that this produces.
  • It has really good health for a reactor. Surprisingly the health on this beast is a whooping 115 health.
  • It has a crew capacity of 3. This makes the reactor great because you can combine this reactor with other crew habitation, increasing your overall crew size.

1. Pinch 8Z Reactor

Whenever you need this reactor it will always come through..In a pinch.

This is the best reactor for class C ships. Class C ships require your piloting skill to be level 3 and above. In my opinion even if you rush through the game this is still considered a late game item. The design of the reactor is perfect for one's looking to build small ships.

Why The Pinch 8Z Reactor is Great:

  • It has one of the highest power in the game.
  • The power is 39It's very small and design friendly. Because of its small design you can use it in a ton of combinations.

The Pinch 8Z Reactor details:

  • Class - C
  • Base Value - 85200 Credits
  • Mass - 129
  • Hull - 1350
