As a gamer since the early days of Dragon Warrior, grinding the silver slime to eventually gain the strength to finish a fight, Damien has been an RPG nut through and through. Thanks to recent genre combinations, he has gained an undying love for rogue-like games just as long as their soundtrack is connected to Supergiant.

As a reviewer of games, he looks first through the eyes of a father who is eager to pass along a game to his children that will awaken their imaginations as much as it has his own. Contrived games do not score well, but games that awaken the imagination and spur the mind to consider "what if" for hours after the program is closed score well.

He has recently begun to explore tabletop pen and paper gaming as therapy for trauma and unexplored angst for all people, but especially young Gen Z students who struggle with various potent anxieties born of the last two years. His connection to RPG threads from Final Fantasy to Pathfinder: Kingmaker leave a great deal of real estate to draw from in creating campaigns for his players.
