A young, humble farmer has his life turned upside down in one fell day as savage creatures called the Krug attack and torch his homestead. Seeking help, the farmer travels to the village of Stonebridge, only to discover that it is not just him, but all of the Kingdom of Ehb that is suffering from attacks by evil creatures. Journeying onwards, the farmer fights the monsters and gains allies, traversing across deserts, canyons, snowed out mountains, dark caves and futuristic goblin settlements, all to find the King of Ehb.

Designed by renowned designer Chris Taylor, Dungeon Siege is set in an original fantasy world and features cutting-edge graphics and sound to bring alive the vibrant continent of Aranna, where players have complete control over the destiny of a humble farmer as he adventures to become a hero.

Besides being able to grow your characters based on how you use them, I really like the concept of having formations. Unlike your typical single character RPG, there's tactics involved in selecting who to include in your group and how you approach enemies.

Dungeon Siege is a game that cannot receive praise for amazing graphics and physics, but it has given something new to the genre. That would be its idea of leveling from absolute zero, becoming a hero despite starting off as a farmer. This idea lives on in many other RPGs of today, and that speaks volumes. Also, it is the first RPG to be made into a movie with Jason Statham.
