[Top 10] CoD Black Ops Cold War Zombies Best Perks (All Perks Ranked Worst To Best)

Top ten list of our choices for the best perks to use in zombies

Next to weapons and having a good class setup, Having all your perks is the final piece of the puzzle when it comes to the keys necessary for a quality zombies match. With so many perks to choose from in Black Ops Cold War, Should you go ahead and grab them all or only take a couple? That is all up to you of course but for today’s list, we will be going over our picks for the 10 best perks in zombies starting from the worst.

10. Tombstone Soda

Starting off our list with the worst perk in the game in our opinion. This perk is about as unnecessary and useless as it has been in previous titles. Really just a crutch for players who get down fairly often and don’t want to keep on buying their perks and weapons again and again. Its main purposes are 1. Preventing you from losing your weapons, resources, and equipment from disappearing in the event you die, and 2. Preventing perk decay so you will not lose any perks from being downed except for Tombstone Soda.  Beyond that, there really isn’t much merit for going through the trouble to save up the points to waste on this perk. You will be much better off spending that money on upgrading your weapon or picking literally any other perk from this list.

Perk Details:

  • Shadow form can regenerate health
  • Increased down duration to 60 seconds
  • Upon death, A tombstone will appear where you got downed and it will carry the weapon, Equipment, and Resources you had.
  • Respawn near the end of the round instead of the beginning of the next. Respawn timers reduced by 50%
  • Prevent perk decay while downed, Tombstone Soda is always lost when downed.

9. Death Perception

Next on the list in 9th place, we have Death Perception. In all honesty, This was the absolute last perk I expected them to bring back as a DLC perk but then again, Life is full of unexpected twists and turns much like this one. The only thing that prevented this perk from being tied for last on the list would be its increased armor penetration damage from 20%. Though even then you can get the same buff with a barrel attachment. It was a half-baked fan-service effort in my eyes. All the supposed “Buffs” this perk gives you, You can get for free by ranking up your weapon and putting on attachments that give you those very same buffs but without the price tag. Felt like zero brain cells were put to use when implementing this into the game and I can go on for ages about how this perk is a slap in the face to the zombie community but alas, I’ll keep it brief. Let's dive into the details of the perk.

Perk Details:

  • The minimap update rate is increased
  • Enemies give danger indicators when behind the player
  • Gain 20% more looted salvage and High-grade salvage
  • Increase Armor Penetration damage by 25%
  • Nearby chests, resources, and item drops are key-lined through walls.

8. Elemental Pop

In 8th place, we have Elemental Pop. It pains me to put it this low in the rankings but it would not be fair to you to rank this list out of bias. In essence, The perk is just a glorified version of Electric Cherry. The only addition made to this is that it allows you to randomly fire off different ammo types even if you did not purchase them from the Pack-a-punch machine. Besides that, That’s it. It can kill the last zombie if you are not careful when training it to buy time for easter egg steps, You will often fire an ammo type that is not what you purchased prior or it will be the wrong ammo type for the situation at hand and you end up wasting an ammo charge and have to wait for it to charge up again and hope it fires the right one the next time around.

Perk Details:

  • Equipment damage also has a small chance to apply a random base ammo mod effect
  • Reduce ammo mod cooldowns by 20%
  • When random ammo mod is applied it uses the ammo mod’s current skill instead of the base
  • Increase elemental weakness damage by 50%
  • Reloading creates a discharge of electricity that damages nearby enemies, The emptier the magazine the more powerful the discharge will be.

7. Mule Kick

In 7th place, we have Mule Kick. There really is not much that can be said about the perk. Its sole purpose is to allow the player to carry a secondary weapon so really the only need for this perk would be if you have two really good weapons you want to keep and want to have space for a wonder weapon. Other than that, It lacks any value to be considered a quality perk. It redeemed itself a bit in the cold war with a few added buffs like a small chance for ammo drops from enemies and stowed weapons that will generate ammo slowly over time. Though the ammo gained from it is so minuscule you are better off just buying ammo or grabbing an ammo drop from a boss zombie instead.

Perk Details:

  • Crafted equipment grants additional equipment if able
  • All enemies have a small chance to drop ammo
  • Stowed Weapons slowly refill ammo from stock
  • 25% chance to keep non-retrievable equipment when used.
  • 3rd primary weapon is recovered when repurchasing Mule Kick

6. PHD Slider

Really wish I could place this in the top 5, But as good as PHD Slider is, It just does not add up when compared to the top 5 perks on this list. The benefits from this perk are definitely a must-have. Especially if aiming for high-round games. You get a movement boost from sliding, Takes zero explosive damage that is self-inflicted so using that ray gun next time will be a breeze. You also trigger an explosion when falling from heights onto the ground, Killing or blowing away enemies in the immediate vicinity.  All in all, Though it is ranked 6th on this list I would definitely recommend having this be a part of your choices of perks in your upcoming zombies game.

Perk Details:

  • Immunity to environmental damage when sliding
  • Increased slide duration
  • Immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage.
  • Increased slide speed
  • Falling from a large height will trigger an explosion. The size and damage increased the higher you fall

5. Deadshot Daiquiri

Taking up the middle spot on this list, We have a personal favorite of mine and that is Deadshot Daiquiri. Getting rid of scope sway and the aim-assist to the head is critical for ranking up those headshots for weapon skins. Get those extra points from critical kills instead of normal kills or you just want to be able to take down a boss zombie before they take you down. This perk is on every zombie’s player's arsenal and it should be on yours as well. Provides many more buffs such as reduced hip-fire spread and extra critical damage when aiming at the head. The perk’s ability to make even the most inaccurate of players into precision royalty is what locks it in at the middle of this list and prevents it from being ranked amongst the lower 5.

Perk Details:

  • Deal 100% extra critical damage if an enemy is at full health
  • Increase damage against armor pieces by 50%
  • Reduce hip-fire spread
  • Increase critical bonus damage to 10%
  • Each consecutive hit on the same enemy deals 2% more damage, up to a maximum of 20% extra damage.

4. Speed Cola

In 4th place we have a zombies classic, Among the four original perks to be created when the first zombies game mode was put in place. The fan-favorite makes a return to Black Ops: Cold War, new and improved. Along with the much-needed boost to reload speed, the perk provides. It also gives the player the ability to fire and reload while sprinting at full speed. Which gets rid of the decision to either reload your weapon before you get cornered or gain some distance from the enemy and hope you have enough time to reload before you are being swarmed again. The perk also allows the player to swap weapons faster, Repair barricades faster as well as charge your field upgrades and skill 20% faster. It is a no-brainer, to say the least, to have this amongst your choices and sits nicely at 4th place on this list.

Perk Details:

  • Swap Weapons Faster
  • Field upgrades recharge 20% faster
  • Increase reload speed to 30%
  • Repair barricades faster, The  mystery box settles much faster
  • Fire and reload while sprinting at full speed.

3. Stamin-Up

Starting off our top 3, In third place we have Stamin-Up. A fan favorite that dates back to black Ops 1 makes its return in the latest installment in the black Ops series, Cold War. The perk boasts an increased run and sprint speed as well as grants the player the ability to spring for longer distances. Once upgraded, You can remove the sprint fallout all together and you will be able to run full steam ahead without stopping for the entirety of the game. Allowing you to be more on your toes and far away from enemies if you like the mid-range to long-range approach. Also aids close rangers by allowing them to get out of the way to a safer location if they soaked up too much damage and are on the verge of getting down. This is also a must-have perk, No matter if it is high rounds, Easter eggs, or just casual play. You will be missing out on a vital essence to your gameplay if you choose not to have this perk amongst your choices.

Perk Details:

  • Increase Backpedal speed
  • Immunity to fall damage
  • Walk faster while aiming down sights
  • Use equipment while sprinting
  • Remove sprint speed fall-off.

2. Quick Revive

Coming up in second we have another zombie original making a return in Black Ops Cold War and it is the fan-favorite Quick Revive. Coming into the game with much more than just being able to revive your teammates faster. You will now also be able to regenerate health in a matter of seconds, giving you full health for reviving an ally as well as give both of you a temporary movement boost after the ally has been revived. Allows both parties to escape before the rescue attempt is all in vain. Whether you want to keep to yourself and be able to have another tool in your arsenal to outlast your team or you strive to be a team player and keep the party alive. This perk is for you.

Perk Details:

  • Downed crawl speed increased to 100%
  • Reduce the delay before health starts regenerating by 50%
  • Reviving an ally will also heal you to full health
  • Reviving an ally will increase both players movement speed for a limited time
  • Killing an enemy while downed will revive you and remove the quick revive perk.

1. Jugger-Nog

The last perk on our list and in the first place, We have another one of the four original perks. The perk of all zombie’s perks. Best perk jingle in the game. It’s Jugger Nog. The perk grants the player increased max health, increased armor hit points, Additional armor, and even prevents you from getting downed a lethal hit and just getting rid of your armor instead of downing you. The perk stands at levels amongst the rest and when pair with our #2 quick revive. You will be almost impossible to get down. You would actually need to try to get down to be able to kill yourself with that perk combination. Aside from the nostalgia and its catchy jingle and clean design. It’s absolutely ridiculous and god-tier perk benefits are what earns it the #1 spot on this list.

Perk Details:

  • Reduce status effect durations by 50%
  • Armor Plates replenish 25% additional armor
  • Increase maximum health by 100
  • Armor durability increased by 25%
  • Instead of getting down on a lethal hit, Armor is depleted and health is reduced to 1
