Set in the medieval city of Dunwall in the 1800s, a group of conspirators have taken over the city by assassinating Empress Jessamine Kaldwin, driving the city into chaos. A "Rat Plague" has spread throughout town causing the infected citizens to weep blood and become violent, further isolating the rich but killing the poor. The new government is a cruel regime ruled by the Lord Regent, Hiram Burrows, who masterminded the assassination of the Empress and blamed Corvo Attano, her bodyguard for it. Take control of deadly assassin, Corvo, and avenge the Empress of her murder while redeeming your name and making choices that will change the fate of the city of Dunwall.

Sneak your way past guards, or leave a line of corpses on the way - the choice is yours. Through an adventurous, yet sinister city, Dishonored will take players through a dark journey modeled on London and Edinburgh in the 1800s - 1900s where technology and supernatural forces coexist.

Despite what many may say, this was one of the best stealth-action games of its time. The powers that Corvo was given by the Outsider were like nothing I had seen before, and I went back to play it numerous times. I hope to purchase a copy of this game again in the near future and get to all three endings.

A bioshock like theme, setting and gameplay, with consequential choices and therefore there very prominent outcomes. Its a bioshock RPG remix.

Dishonored is a prolific call back to the Thief series. Big sprawling levels, open ended gameplay, and an incentive to take most everything of value. The blink mechanic is something rather unique, and provides an interesting and fun way to traverse the environments.

After finishing this, I imagined that someone played “Bioshock” and said, “This game is fun and all, but what if I wanted to avoid killing everyone?” What came from that was too hard for most people, so instead we have “Dishonored”.

This game took the gameplay style of Bioshock in order to make something... not quite as memorable. This lovechild between Bioshock and Assassin's Creed was enjoyable, I do not regret buying it. However, this is definitely not Bethesda's masterpiece. I'm hoping it's sequel adds something we've never seen before.

Dishonored was one of the most memorable games from 2012 for me. It's unique style, the dark, steampunk setting contribute as much to the experience as its polished game mechanics, epic soundtrack and twisting story. Playing as Corvo, the now-dead empresses bodyguard, you have the choice to either make your way through the game either hiding in the shadows or killing every unfortunate city guard you cross paths with. These choices will lead you to one of the three possible endings. Must have!
