Set in an alternate timeline where a nuclear holocaust devastates the entire world, Wasteland 2 is about the Desert Rangers, a militaristic group that assists survivors of the harsh southwestern desert. When a veteran ranger is found murdered after investigating an unusual radio signal describing “man and machine becoming one”, players are charged with continuing his mission. Wasteland 2 features a party system, and turn-based combat that pushes tactics to the forefront of the action.
