Deep in the Spine of the World mountains where the icy tundra will drain the life from anyone who dares to venture into it, there is an evil that seeks to destroy Faerun.

Icewind Dale is another role-playing game that is based on the D&D Forgotten Realms campaign setting. It used the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition ruleset and the gameplay is similar to that of Baldur’s Gate.

The sequel, Icewind Dale 2, uses the AD&D 3rd edition ruleset which brought new perks to the series. Feats, the ability to be any class, and use any weapon as any class were some of these perks.

It seems that gamers are ready for a new and improved Icewind Dale.
