Here are the best French Tanks for every tier.

Tier III

Somua S35

• DPM— 1162 Hp
• Dispersion— 0.38
• Penetration— 66 mm
• Top Speed— 45 km/h
• Thickest Armor— 47 mm
• View Range— 330 m

Conclusion

• Good firepower, armor protection, and mobility made the S35 one of the best tanks for its tier.
• Its armor can face lots of enemy shells with ease. Top speed 45 km/h is great for tier III, with that mobility it can take position faster than enemies. 
• Its gun can penetrate anybody on its tier, its alpha damage a bit low but enough.
• Aim time is perfect, this tank has one of the best aim times in the game.

Tier IV

AMX 40

• DPM— 1110 HP
• Aim Time— 2.4 sec.
• Dispersion— 0.44 m
• Top Speed— 50 km/h ?
• Turret Armor— 80 mm
• Hull Armor— 70 mm

Conclusion

• AMX 40 is a light tank, which is absolutely not. It has the characteristics of a heavy tank. Slow, well-armored, high alpha damage.
• Talking about damage, its gun is a bit confusing. Yes, it is 75 mm and it has great alpha damage for tier IV. But accuracy, aim time, DPM. All of them are bad and penetration is just 74 mm. Which is very poor.
• Its top speed is great on paper, 50 km/h. But the power/weight ratio is very bad. It can’t go even further than 20 km/h. Traverse speeds are worse than acceleration. Do not expect to face enemies early. If a friendly unit pushes, you can reach 50 km/h top speed. Not useful but keep in mind.
• The great thing is its armor. Even side armors are angled and well protected for tier IV. Great angles on the turret, frontal hull with great thickness it has great survivability. Most of its tier opponents can’t penetrate it. Further tiers can penetrate but sometimes it can face them too.

Tier V

AMX ELC bis

• DPM— 1028 HP
• Penetration— 120 mm
• Top Speed— 60 km/h
• Camouflage Values— 21.89 / 5.21
• View Range— 360 m

Conclusion

• AMX ELC is a funny little tank to play. Fast, agile with a very small hull it is a light tank no doubt!
• Firstly, its gun, 90 mm with great alpha damage. Average penetration with bad accuracy, aim time and depression. For hit-and-run missions, it can deal great damages for its tier. But for great engagements you have to stop and wait for aim, the gun can’t hit anything on the move. 
• With a 90 mm gun, the turret can turn just 15 degrees on both sides. For flanking it can be a problem, be careful when you play this tank.
• It has no armor, just 2 crew, and a low HP pool. Survivability is very low. You have to use your mobility or camouflage for not taking shots. 
• It is just 6 tons. Its 180 hp engine can make its top speed 60 km/h. A very high power/weight ratio makes everything better. With a very low silhouette dodging shells is easier.
• This low silhouette makes excellent camouflage. For balancing the tank view range is a bit poor. You have to use a combination of view range-camouflage for great support and XP.

Tier VI

ARL 44

• DPM— 1501 HP
• Penetration— 212 mm
• Aim Time— 3.26 sec.
• Dispersion— 0.36 m
• Top Speed— 37 km/h
• Hull Armor— 120 mm
• Turret Armor— 110 mm

Conclusion

• ARL 44 is one of the favorite tanks in tier VI.
• Starting with its 90 mm gun. Excellent penetration, it can penetrate even tier VIII’s. Poor aim time and a bit low DPM managed to balance this gun. Its alpha damage is fine too. With a great depression angle, it can be used anywhere.
• Its armor is great in front. Greatly angled upper glacis with great angling can face most of tier VI’s. Turret armor is not usable much, there is no angle. Direct hits can penetrate easily. Side armors are poor too. Don’t trust anywhere, just upper glacis.
• Mobility is great for heavy tanks. Good acceleration and power-weight ratio. Usable for taking positions, flanking, etc. Traverse speeds are bad, especially for the turret.

Tier VII

Hotchkiss EBR

• DPM— 1593 HP
• Penetration— 160 mm
• Top Speed— 70 km/h
• Camouflage Values— 17.78 / 4.16
• View Range— 310 m

Conclusion

• Hotchkiss EBR is a funny wheeled tank with great mobility values.
• Firstly, its gun; excellent aim time, average dispersion and DPM. Bit poor AP penetration but HE shell can penetrate 75 mm armor. It is very useful, especially against opponent light tanks. Increases DPM and can deal damage even without penetration.
• It has no armor as expected. Its wheeled design sometimes increases survivability. Wheels can absorb enemy shells sometimes. When the wheel is damaged, speed and traverse decrease but unlikely tracked design; it won’t stop and by the time wheels can be fully repaired.
• Its mobility is its main topic. Pure greatness with 70 km/h top speed. Excellent power/weight ratio makes acceleration way better. 
• Because of wheeled design, turning angles are worse than them. It’s hard to turn, especially at tight corners. 
• For balancing excellent mobility, the view range is poor. Generally, you get spotted before they spot you.
• Always be prepared for incoming shells. 

Tier VIII

AMX AC mle. 48

• DPM— 1894 HP
• Penetration— 257 mm
• Clip Size— 3 Shell
• Clip Damage— 1200 HP in 5.41 sec.
• Aim Time— 2.59 sec.
• Dispersion— 0.35 m
• Top Speed— 50 km/h
• Camouflage Values— 13.28 / 2.39

Conclusion

• It was a real headache to choose tier VIII. AMX 50 100 lost cause of being non-armored. So here our tank destroyer AMX AC mle. 48
• Its gun has an autoloader with great alpha damage and excellent penetration, it can hurt anybody without a doubt. Aim time and dispersion are not perfect but the autoloader feature works anyway. 
• Because having autoloader close combat can be a problem. Reload time is long, making the tank vulnerable. 
• Its armor is great for its tier. Very nice slope with excellent gun mantlet. It is really strong at the front. There are huge cupolas, which makes it vulnerable in close range.
• Other than the front armor is paper-thin, anybody can penetrate easily. Be careful about flankers, paper-thin side armor and long reload time makes you a very easy target. Low HP makes the situation much worse.

Tier IX

AMX M4 mle. 51

• DPM— 2235 Hp
• Penetration— 257 mm  
• Hull armor— 180 mm
• Turret armor— 300 mm 
• Top speed— 40 km/h

Conclusion

• AMX M4 MLE 51. Is a great warrior in tier IX.
• With a great gun, it can face all enemies. It can deal with most tier X guns with great armor. With great mobility, you can take position faster than other heavies.
• The problem starts when you try to hide your weak spots. There are cupolas on the turret. 
• When angling you have to calculate your angle degree. If you angle much your weak side armor makes you vulnerable. And there is a penetrable point in the junction point of your front hull armor and side armor.
• In every respect, the AMX M4 is a great tank. Great armor, great gun, great mobility.

Tier X

Bat.-Châtillon 25 t

• DPM— 2336 HP
• Penetration— 259 mm
• Clip Size— 5 shells
• Clip Damage— 1950 HP in 10.91 sec.
• Aim Time— 2.59 sec.
• Dispersion— 0.36 sec.
• Top Speed— 65 km/h
• View Range— 400 m 

Conclusion

• Here is our last French friend. With a great gun, excellent mobility, good camouflage here is the Bat. -Châtllion 25 t (shortly BC 25t)
• Its 105 mm gun is a real beast even for tier X. Excellent burst damage within seconds. It can make anybody suffer with no effort. With long reload time, average aim time and dispersion it's a bit balanced. 
• Its unique turret design makes depression angles a bit worse; hills won’t be your best friends.
• But no problem, excellent mobility is its best feature. Excellent top speed and acceleration reminds light tank. 
• You will need this excellent mobility because it has paper-thin armor. Bit low HP makes the situation a bit of a problem.
• With this tank, you have to use your mobility for hit and run. Unleash 5 shells within seconds and run away for a long reload.
