The Wall of Flesh is your first real obstacle in order to progress in the game. It's the last boss in the early game and is required to advance into Hardmode. Preparing for this huge hurdle is a milestone on its own. That's why we've prepared our list of the Top 10 Terraria Best Accessories for the Wall of Flesh and how to get it.

10. Stinger Necklace

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee

The Stinger Necklace is a good way to bypass some of the defense of the Wall of Flesh. Not only that, there's always a big chance that you'll get hit by the Hungry, making the release of bees a welcome addition.

Item details:

  • Increases armor penetration by 5
  • Releases bees and douses the user in honey when damaged

What makes it great:

  • Boosts DPS and adds health regeneration

How to get it:

9. Hive Pack

Buff the bees! Buff the BEES!

If you want an easy time with the Wall of Flesh, the best weapon to go for would be the Beenade. If you thought this wasn't good enough, you can buff it even more with the help of the Stinger Necklace and the Hive Pack. You can get this item from the Expert Queen Bee with ease.

Item details:

  • Increases the strength of friendly bees

What makes it great:

  • Buff the bees!

How to get it:

8. Cloud in a Balloon

Extra jump on a cloud

Fighting the Wall of Flesh requires a bit of vertical mobility. Having an extra jump is highly useful to increase your chances of surviving. This makes it easier to dodge the eye lasers and avoid getting stuck in blocks. It's also very easy to find as you only need to find a Cloud in a Bottle and a Shiny Red Balloon.

Item details:

  • Allows the holder to double jump
  • Increases jump height

What makes it great:

  • An extra jump is always welcome
  • The jump height of the red balloon easily clears a barrage of eye lasers

How to get it:

7. Brain of Confusion

Pulled out from the Brain of Cthulhu

The Brain of Confusion is a wonderful early accessory since it allows you to dodge 1/6 of hits. On top of that, it also provides you with the ability to inflict the Confused debuff, which makes the Hungry less likely to hit you.

Item details:

  • Has a chance to create illusions and dodge an attack
  • Temporarily increase critical chance after dodge
  • May confuse nearby enemies after being struck

What makes it great:

  • Has the highest dodge chance in the game as a solo item
  • Confusion adds another layer of protection

How to get it:

6. Shield of Cthulhu

Smack 'em with a shield!

This is one of the earliest Expert Mode items you can get from the Eye of Cthulhu. It adds a small bit of defense while giving you the ability to dash. It's overall a highly useful item until you get better dash items such as the Master Ninja Gear or the Solar Flare Armor.

Item details:

  • Damage - 30 (Melee)
  • Knockback - 9 (Very strong)
  • Defense - 2
  • Critical chance - 4%
  • Allows the player to dash into the enemy (Double tap a direction)

What makes it great:

  • Dashing gives extra mobility
  • Hitting enemies with the dash gives you a few frames of invulnerability

How to get it:

5. Obsidian Shield

Protect yourself from the fires of hell

The Wall of Flesh fight is only doable in the Underworld. This means being surrounded by tons of fire blocks and lava. The Obsidian Shield lowers the chances of you dying from burning blocks or being pushed around by the Hungry.

Item details:

  • Defense - 2
  • Grants immunity to knockback
  • Grants immunity to fire blocks

What makes it great:

  • Saves you from burning blocks
  • Getting knocked around by the Hungry is not fun.

How to get it:

4. Terraspark Boots

Run with unparalleled speed!

The Terraspark Boots provide you the best horizontal movement from boot accessories. It also provides you with all the properties of the boot-type accessories. The best option that the Terraspark Boots provide is the ability to walk on lava, which is highly useful for this fight.

Item details:

  • Allows flight, super fast running, and extra mobility on ice
  • 8% increased movement speed
  • Provides the ability to walk on water, honey & lava
  • Grants immunity to fire blocks and 7 seconds of immunity to lava
  • Reduces damage from touching lava

What makes it great:

  • Look at all its features!
  • Walking on lava is important if you're not planning on building a hell bridge

How to get it:

3. Band of Regeneration

Watch your wounds slowly close

There are only a few sources of healing once you get your potions on cooldown. Campfires and Heart Lanterns are only useful if you have solid ground to walk on, and this is not always the case in the Underworld. That is why getting the extra healing from the Band of Regeneration is crucial to survive.

Item details:

  • Slowly regenerates life

What makes it great:

  • Heal yourself constantly while your potions are on cooldown

How to get it:

2. Fledgling Wings

They might be young, but they're powerful!

The Fledgling wings give you the capability to fly and negate fall damage which was initially only a feature implemented with Hardmode Wings. This not only allows you to have better vertical mobility, but it also allows you to be reckless when dropping height.

Item details:

  • Flight time - 0.42 sec
  • Height - 18 tiles
  • Horizontal speed - 15mph
  • Vertical multiplier - 150%

What makes it great:

  • It's the only pre-Hardmode wings

How to get it:

1. Worm Scarf

Made from the Eater of Worlds

The Worm Scarf is a highly-useful item that can carry you all the way to Hardmode and then some. It provides you with a reasonable amount of damage reduction which can stack with Hardmode sources as well. Better defense means better chances of surviving.

Item details:

  • Reduces damage taken by 17%

What makes it great:

  • There are only 4 sources of damage reduction in the game. One is a potion and the other two are in Hardmode.
