Stardew Valley is a chill, colorful, fun simulation role-playing game in the style of Harvest Moon. You start on the farm left by your Grandfather and start working to clean the mess that it is. But the game isn't only about farming and romancing NPCs.

In this guide, I will tell you how to find and obtain the 10 best armors in Stardew Valley. To stop you from dying to the slimes in the game and just having some funky-looking armor to add to your character.

First, the game has a Combat system that unlocks after arriving at The Mines. At your arrival at The Mines, you will be given a quest to slay 10 slimes to join the Guild, after slaying the slimes in the first levels you will gain access to the Guild shop, in which you will be able to buy Weapons, Rings, and Footwear.

Armor in Stardew Valley is called Footwear; it can be purchased at the Adventurer's Guild, get dropped by monsters in the Mines, can be found in treasure chests when you fish, and sometimes be the reward at certain Mine levels.

Now I will run down the best Footwear/armor in the game and how you can get them early game, mid-game and late game.

 

10. Leather Boots

Item Description: The leather is very supple.

Leather boots are the best footwear to have early in the game while going down exploring The Mines in the beginning, they give +1 Defense and +1 Immunity which in the early game against the monsters is pretty good.

You can find them pretty easily early in the game, they can be found at level 10 of The Mines, in the level 10 room there will be a treasure chest inside the Leather Boots. They can be also purchased for 500g after reaching level 10 in the Guild or be found in fishing treasure chests after reaching Fishing level 2.

9. Tundra Boots

Item Description: The fuzzy lining keeps your ankles so warm.

Second, the best early game footwear is the Tundra Boots, they give + 2 Defense and +1 Immunity, good for the level of difficulty at that moment.

The Tundra Boots can be found in a chest when arrived at level 50 of The Mines, can also be purchased at the Guild for 750g after reaching level 50 of The Mines, or be found in fishing treasure chests after reaching Fishing level 2.

8. Thermal Boots

Item Description: Designed with extreme weather in mind.

The third best early game footwear is the Thermal Boots, they give +1 Defense and +2 Immunity. Don't let the low Defense fool you at the level you will be using the Thermal boots the majority of the monster will give you debuff which Immunity is very helpful.

Thermal boots can be found as a special item in levels 41-79 of The Mines by killing special monsters or by breaking crates and barrels. They can be found in the chest on level 50 of the Mines if you choose to "remixed" The Mine rewards in the Advanced Options menu when starting a new game and can be also found in fishing treasure chests after reaching Fishing level 2.

7. Dark Boots

Item Description: Made from thick black leather.

The Dark Boots are footwear that gives +4 Defense and +2 Immunity which in mid-game become really good. The Dark Boots may be found by breaking boxes and barrels, or as a special monster drop, in the Skull Cavern (Level 40+), they can be purchased from the Guild for 2,500g after reaching level 80 in The Mines or found in fishing treasure chests or they can be found in the chest on level 80 of The Mines if you choose to "remixed" rewards in the Advanced Options menu when starting a new game.

6. Firewalker Boots

Item Description: It's said these can withstand the hottest magma.

Another good mid-game boots are the Firewalker Boots which give you +3 Defense and +3 Immunity. The Firewalker Boots can be found from the treasure chest at level 80 of The Mines, can be purchased at the Guild for 2,000g  after reaching level 80 in the Mines or can be also found in fishing treasure chests after reaching Fishing level 2.

Crystal shoes are another footwear that for the mid-game are great, they have +3 Defense and +5 Immunity, very good to avoid the debuffs. They are mainly found when you get access to the Skull Cavern and are dropped by special monsters. But you can have them before if you use the "remixed" mine rewards in the Advanced Options menu when starting a new game, so you can actually obtain them in the chest on level 110 of The Mines.

Item Description: An iridium weave gives them a purple sheen.

They are the last best mid-game footwear, they have +4 Defense and +4 Immunity a perfect balance of stats at that level Space Boots can be found at level 110 of The Mines inside the chest, after they can be purchased in the Guild for 5,000g. They have the fourth highest immunity and fifth highest defense values for footwear in the game, tied with Emily's Magic Boots which can be obtained only after marrying the NPC named Emily.

Item Description: These shimmering boots are extremely tough.
