Familiars were a cool addition to Realm of Magic, but what the hell do they exactly do? This mod expands on the use of your familiars and lets your Sims interact with them. You can now talk to your familiar as they can offer magical advice and teach your Sim new spells, without the risk of increasing your spellcaster charge. 

• This mod helps bring clarity to the game by asking Familiars for advice (i.e. they can recommend spells or provide other helpful tips like what you should do next).

I try not to feature CC in these lists, as the options are quite endless, but this is a needed download to enhance your medieval playthrough. Plus your dragon will have all the regular interactions of a normal pet; just picture your pet dragon playing fetch, and it will all make sense.

As of 2021, the Sims 4 currently offers five occult lifestyles: aliens, vampires, servos, spellcasters, and mermaids. Our next mod is tailored made for Doctor Who fans. Zero brings us another well-thought-out and unique mod in the form of Time Lords. Like in the show, Time Lords will have certain abilities that will affect the Sims and the environment around them. Becoming a Time Lord is easy, simply click on your Alien Sim and select “Turn Into Time Lord” and your Sim will now have the power to astral project, reverse their age, and form telepathic connections with other Sims!

• In addition to all the new interactions they come with, Time Lords also get an added boost for performing mental and athletic activities. 
• Aliens made such a lackluster debut in the Sims and aren’t often inspired in other mods, so it’s fun to see a mod that features these early occult types.

While we can download all the CC we want, what truly makes our games immersive, especially when playing in a medieval setting, is bringing in historically accurate features to the game to separate it from its modern setting. The Blacksmith Career mod offers just that, a historical and worthy career for any medieval Sim player. This five-level career path takes Sims back in time to when the crafting of well-made swords and shields was a matter of life or death. Work your way up from an Apprentice to a Master Blacksmith through handy craftsmanship in this career mod from sokkarang. 

• The pay is scaled for historical accuracy, which is a well-appreciated touch.
• Even though there are only five levels (as opposed to the normal ten), you still need to max out the handiness skill to reach the top in this mod, so each level will take longer and be more rewarding when achieved. 
• Future updates of this mod are hoping to move the career from its Rabbit Hole playability, to an Active or Work From Home option to expand the gameplay further.

This allows you to download custom-made spells and tomes seamlessly into your game to add new, magically inclined gameplay. The mod does not override any EA script, meaning that all spells created by outside modders should be compatible with this tool, making this a must-have mod for anyone who wants to spruce up their Spellcasters and explore the realm of magic further.

The Expanded Mermaids mods are, as the title implies, a detailed expansion on the Island Living occult life form EA released back in 2019. This mod introduces a handful of new ocean interactions, expands on some previous ones, and gives us not one, but TWO new occult forms. Now your Sim can become Kelpies, a bioluminescent sea monster that transforms at night, or a Sea Witch who harbors a Sea Sorcery Skill that’ll put Spellcasters to shame.

• The deep dive option expands on the artifact hunting of Island Living, allowing you to find kelp (which can be eaten by mermaids or used to turn your Sim into a Kelpie), or find the rare Poseidon's Grimoire.
• Sea Witches can summon lightning, teleport, and do a whole plethora of spells, and they can earn money for it too!
• Both new occult forms are fun, and a wicked expansion to your gameplay, bringing a sinister twist to the easy-going lifestyle of Island Living.
