Career mods are a great addition to your game when you are bored of the jobs already in game or add to your story line. While the game offers quite a few routes to go through, it is lacking in a few ways. These mods below add to the careers that are already in game or add even more career options for your sims. 

• Adds more gameplay options like working multiple jobs
• More career choices for your adult sims
• Adds more depth to gameplay with what your sim is choosing to do with their life.

1. Live in business

Girl boss vibes

Live in business is one that I was excited to find as it lets you work from home. I enjoy having my sims create and sell items, but always annoyed with having to buy another lot just to sell my items as a business (unless I want to sell with the yard sale table) The plopsy option can also take time and you have to relist often, making it a bit harder to make a living that way. This mod allows you to make and sell items from the lot/home that you already live in making gameplay more realistic and entertaining. 

Live in Business key features:

• Gives you more options on how to lock doors to keep customers out of your living space. 
• Gives options to open and close the business in the home. 
• Adds business lot traits 
• Spawns NPCs on your home lot when you open for business. 
• Offers live in Cafe, bar, club, daycare, gym, pet daycare and more.

2. Teen Jobs

If you can work you can pay bills. 

When playing as a teen sim you sometimes want your sim to explore their life to figure out what they want to be when they are older. With this mod you have more options of jobs that your teen sim can do part time. It makes having more than one teen sim less “copy and paste” feeling as they can do much more after school. Teens are often exploring who they are as a person, which they can now do with more options for work.

3. Unlimited Jobs

Keeping up with inflation.

Another one of my pet peeves is not being able to do multiple jobs like working part time and freelancing. With this mod you are able to work multiple jobs regardless of the time of work. You can choose between full time or part time jobs and freelancing. It can make gameplay a bit more entertaining having to juggle between jobs and trying to keep your sim alive. 

Unlimited jobs key features:

• Allows your sim to work more than one job including freelancing
• Selecting a new freelancing trade will add another trade instead of replacing one.
• You can work jobs with overlapping times.

4. Simstagram Influencer Career

This is more of a realistic job I feel that a lot of people would enjoy. Being an influencer is something that has really popped up in the past 10 years and become a way to make a living. It has gone from a job to a career for a lot. Being able to live this out in game is a perk that other simmers can enjoy.

5. Music Artist Career

Another career that is more with what is an available job in modern times, this music artist career adds a route for the musically talented sims. There aren’t a lot of other options in game for sims who play an instrument or sing, and this really adds another way for your sims to utilize that skill. This also adds another creative route for sims who don’t want to make something or be an artist, but still want to be creative.

6. Maid

You can hire a maid in game, so why not work as one? Maid services are really a perk and being able to work as a maid really brings together other features of the game. I always thought it was odd to have these services but not being able to also work with that service yourself.

7. Pastor

While I am not religious myself I know that there are other simmers who may be. This is just another way to add more depth to the game if wanted. It could also be a perk for story lines, especially when it comes to vampires.

8. Farmer

You can have a farm, but you don’t work as a farmer. And where I live you can also work on a farm as a farm hand or helping out the farmer who owns the land working for the world Henford-on-Bagley. This is something I thought would be a great perk depending on which world you live in. It could really add to more story lines in the game.

9. Forensic Scientist

Just another great route if you don’t want to work as a police officer or as a scientist, but want the best of both worlds. This mod adds a career analyzing crime scenes as a crime scene investigator. This mod takes me back to the 2000s when crime scene shows were all the rage. If you're a millennial like me who lived off of these shows, you can have your sims living it also.

• Adds a new interaction
• Has seven work from home tasks
• Includes three promotional tasks
• Can utilize a degree in psychology to jump career levels. 
• Utilizes logic and photography skills.

10. Rancher

On the same theme of becoming a farmer, you can also become a rancher with this mod. It gives you an option to work as a rancher instead of just owning a ranch. This is a way to earn more simoleons instead of having to buy several goats or sheep or learning to make nectar.

• Has three work from home tasks
• Includes three work from home tasks, but several times (like watering plants 10 times).

11. Resturant waiter

If you want to work in a restaurant but not own one, then this mod is perfect. A lot of people start out working in a restaurant and others make a career out of it in the real world. This mod allows your sims to do the same in game.

12. Wildlife biologist

Wildlife Biologist is a great career to add to the eco lifestyle. You can work as a biologist that focuses on wildlife and study animals and their ecosystems. I love having more options with each lifestyle to give every sim giving them more of a personality and variety among sims.

13. Oceanographer

Dolphins absolutly terrify me.

I feel that this is an expansion of the wildlife biologist bringing it Sulani with an oceanographer. This mod lets you have a career with ocean life, taking care of fish and cleaning tanks. You can enjoy working “outside”, adapting to more sims personalities. This career was from the sims 2 bringing previous aspects of the game to the sims 4.

14. Barista (work from home)

It's like liquid drugs. But legal, and not as addicting. 

A great career for those who want a job while not having to focus a lot on building a lot of skills. I can see creating works of art on the side and then going to work in a fast paced job like a Barista. Simmers who enjoy story lines and character development of their sims would enjoy having a mod like this in game.

15. Veterinary Technician Career

We love every single pet that comes through.

Like becoming a waitress, some sims want to work in a field but not own the business. This mod lets you become a veterinarian without having to purchase the lot and create the business on their own. Great for sims and simmers who love animals.

Veterinarian features:

• Includes four career specialties that you can choose from.
• Utilizes the pet training skill.
