[Top 10] Rainbow Six Siege Best Cheap Operators

Top 10 Best Cheap Operators in Rainbow Six Siege
The OG Siege Operators

Most gamers who buy Rainbow Six Siege choose the standard or the deluxe option. Both of which don't unlock all the operators in the game, which are now more than sixty. The great thing about that is the original operators only costs 1,000 renown to unlock which is very easy to acquire. The best thing about it though is that those original operators are still some of the most popular in the game today, and this article will tell you why.

10. IQ

IQ is a great starting operator because while using her, the player can familiarize him or herself more on camera placements and where the enemies usually place their gadgets. Her claymore is also a great tool for her to avoid getting fragged from behind by an enemy roamer. Her electronics detector can also detect the bombs or the biohazard container and this can help new players learn more about map outlines which is very helpful especially when the objective isn’t scanned during the prep phase.

Excels in:

  • Entry fragging
  • Gadget disabling
  • Intel gathering

9. Mute

On paper, it may sound like Mute is not great for beginners because he needs to do a lot and has a big responsibility during prep phase, but Mute, like IQ, can help a newbie learn fast about the mechanics of the game. Especially when guided by a friendly teammate, a newbie using Mute will be able to know the proper places where his signal jammers should be placed. And depending on the situation, whether they should be used to block drones, or to prevent hard breaching, the player will feel some sense of fulfillment when he knows that he’s contributing to the team a lot.

Excels in:

  • Hard breach prevention
  • Intel denial
  • Anchoring

8. Jager

The most powerful defender on this list. Jager’s 416-C Carbine is one of the strongest assault rifles in the game. Very customizable too, which makes it perfect for new players. And if the player prefers shotguns over assault rifles, Jager’s M870 is also considered as one of the best shotguns in the game. Capable of inflicting fatalities even at medium range. On top of all that, his special gadget, the ADS, counters enemy projectiles, such as grenades and special gadgets. All of these makes Jager one of the best cheap operators to get as a newbie.

Excels in:

  • Roaming
  • Anchoring
  • Projectile denial

7. Castle

Castle is one of the most underrated operators in the game, especially now that he’s been buffed again with an additional armor panel. With his bulletproof armor panels, he can protect the objective area from threats outside, or if he wants to, he can direct enemy movements by using them to create choke points. His UMP45 is one of the most stable guns in the game which means you’ll be firing at enemies with deadly accuracy. He also has the Super Shorty shotgun available to him as one of his secondaries, and he can use it to make rotation holes, or escape holes for the team. Castle is a very versatile operator which no Siege player should sleep on.

Excels in:

  • Anchoring
  • Choke point creation
  • Securing vulnerable areas

6. Ash

Ash is one of the most popular entry-fraggers in the game, and for good reason. Both of her primaries, the G36C and the R4-C pack a lot of firepower. Her firepower, along with her speed makes her perfect for room clearing, rushing, or hunting roamers. And her special gadget can open up huge entry holes for her and her teammates as well as destroy pesky bulletproof enemy gadgets like Maestro’s evil eye. In other words, Ash isn’t just a solo killer. She’s very versatile and excels in teamwork as well.

Excels in:

  • Flanking
  • Room clearing
  • Entry fragging

5. Thatcher

Thatcher is one of the reasons why the OG operators are still the best. He can disable enemy electronic gadgets en masse, and his claymore and assault rifles make him perfect for medium to long-range support. With him in the attacking team partnered with a hard breacher, it’s almost sure that the attackers will be able to do a hard breach, which will allow the attackers to have another entry point, making it much harder for the defending team.

Excels in:

  • Enemy gadget disabling
  • Backline support
  • Intel gathering/denial

4. Thermite

The OG hard breacher, and still the one that makes the best hard breaches. The entry points that he can make on reinforced walls are perfect because his teammates won’t need to vault over them and leave themselves vulnerable for a second. Aside from his special gadget, his secondary ones are also perfect for his role. Thermite players have a choice between smoke grenades and stun grenades, and whichever they choose, both grenades would be perfect for Thermite’s role as an entry fragger.

Excels in:

  • Hard breaching
  • Entry fragging
  • Backline support

3. Rook

Easily the most recommendable defender operator for a newbie. His role is very simple. Just drop his armor plates at the start of the round so everyone in his team can get one, and just from that, he’s able to buff the whole team's toughness. His inherent 3-armor rating plus the bonus armor from his armor plates makes him one of the toughest operators in the game, and for a newbie, being able to last longer in a gunfight means a great deal.

Excels in:

  • Anchoring
  • Buffing teammates

2. Kapkan

When you’re still a beginner in Siege, chances are, you’ll be dying. A lot. But the great thing is, there are operators like Kapkan which will allow you to contribute to the team and get kills even when you’re already dead. When multiple Kapkan EDDs are placed in an entryway, they can inflict death to an enemy in one detonation. And even if the player chooses to spread them out to more entry ways, they would still be of great help because not only do they cause a lot of damage, they can disrupt enemy rhythm too and compromise their location.

Excels in:

  • Trapping
  • Compromising enemy locations
  • Rhythm disruption

1. Doc

Speaking of lasting longer in gun fights, there’s no one else in Siege that can last more than Doc. Playing Doc is a great way for beginners to get a grasp of how gunfights go in the game, because even when he gets damaged, Doc can heal himself, and also revive himself from being downed. Of course, don’t forget that Doc can also do the same for his teammates, so it’s also a great way for newbies to learn teamwork and coordination in Siege.

Excels in:

  • Anchoring
  • Buffing teammates
