Rainbow 6 Siege Tier List 2022 [Rainbow 6 Siege Best Operators]

R6 2022 Operator Tier List
As a Glaz main, it pains me to put him in C-Tier. But it’s true that he’s only good at certain maps nowadays.

While Ubisoft has done a good job of balancing the operators throughout the years, it still can’t be said that they’re fully balanced. And frankly, it will never be so. Not in this game, and not on any other fps game with the same concept. But you know what, that just makes it more fun and interesting, because it adds to the character dynamics of the game. It’s also really fun when you get to kill an S Tier operator using a C tier one. But before we discuss which operators belong to each tier, we must first define each tier.

S Tier – Always great to have to have, regardless of the situation or map. Has great loadouts, and in many cases, indispensable to the team. If you main these operators, you’d probably have a high win rate and at least a positive kda.

Jager (S-Tier Roamer, Anti Projectile)

Jager is the S tier of all S tier operators. Despite the nerf on his ADS, he’s still an indispensable operator, especially in ranked matches. You don’t want grenades to just keep flying around you when you’re anchoring right? In a ranked game, you’d always want to have an anti-grenade in your team. And it isn’t just his ADS that makes him an S tier among S tier operators. His guns are some of the most powerful in the game. His 416-C carbine is highly customizable and his M870 shotgun is probably the most popular shotgun in the game.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • 416-C Carbine with Red Dot, Extended Barrel, and Vertical Grip
  • Suppressed P12 Handgun
  • Barbed Wire

Operator strengths:

  • Gameplay flexibility – After he puts up his ADS, he’s free to roam or anchor
  • High damage guns
  • Best at countering enemy projectiles

Operator weaknesses:

  • Primary gun has a rough recoil – If you opt to go full damage mode on attachments
  • Completely vulnerable while putting up his special gadget. So, you want to do it fast at the start of the round

Kapkan (S-Tier Trapper)

Kapkan is a great operator to have in any map. And even very experienced players still get victimized by his EDDS, especially when he’s not scanned during the prep phase or when they’re put in unexpected places. He can also now put more than one EDD in one entryway, making him capable of getting kills in just one instance of his EDDs being triggered. The scary part is that even when opponents know that they have to be careful of his EDDs, it still affects them because they’ll be forced to go slower and their rhythm will be interrupted. His primary guns are easy to handle, and he can make rotation holes for the team with his impact grenades.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • 9x19VSN with 1.5x Scope, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
  • PMM with Suppressor
  • Impact Grenades

Operator strengths:

  • Enemy rhythm disruption
  • Inflicting damage and death
  • EDDs can also serve as an alarm
  • Easy to handle guns and useful secondary gadgets

Operator weaknesses:

  • Can be completely vulnerable to a rush when putting up EDDs late
  • The 9x19VSN assault rifle’s damage is pretty low

Dokkaebi (S-Tier Anti Roamer, Intel Gatherer, Flanker)

Information is king in Siege, and that’s what Dokkaebi provides. She can compromise the enemy locations with her logic bomb, and when she gets to hack a mobile device from a dead enemy, she can access defender cameras including defender gadgets like Valkyrie’s cams or Maestro’s evil eyes. On top of that, Dokkaebi is deadly at any range because her marksman rifle is highly customizable and her secondary gun complements it by providing rapid fire and high damage at close range. And going back to her logic bomb, not only does it compromise enemy locations. It also disrupts their rhythm whenever they have to turn it off. The sound of the call also masks sound from attackers. Making it great for surprise or sneak attacks.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • Suppressed Mk 14 EBR with 2.5x Scope and Vertical Grip
  • SMG-12 with Holographic Sights, Vertical Grip, and Laser Under Barrel
  • Stun Grenades

Operator strengths:

  • Compromising enemy locations
  • Disrupting enemy rhythms
  • Excels at any range
  • Intel gathering

Operator weaknesses:

  • Can be hard to use for newbies
  • Vulnerable while hacking enemy mobile device

Zofia (S-tier Anti Roamer, Flanker, Crowd Control)

The most powerful attacker when it comes to firepower. Her two primary guns are unique guns to her. That alone tells you how special this operator is. Both guns have great damage, and if you go with the LMG-E, you’ll have high damage, low recoil, and huge bullet capacity. Her special gadget lets the player fire two impact grenades for creating entry holes and two concussion grenades for disorienting defenders who are hiding in strong angles. Zofia is truly an offensive menace and that’s why she’s on the S tier list.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • LMG-E with 2.5x Scope, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip
  • RG15 with Suppressor
  • Claymore

Operator strengths:

  • Very high offensive power
  • Very useful secondary gadget
  • Solid armor and speed rating

Operator weaknesses:

  • Aside from the ability to make entry holes, her gameplay is very self-centric
  • Reload time (if player chooses the LMG-E)
  • Very rough recoil (if player chooses the M762)

Wamai (S-Tier Anchor, Anti Projectile)

With the nerfs on Jager’s ADS, Wamai is a great addition to the defender side of Team Rainbow. Sometimes even Jager is not enough and it’ll be great to just have both of them in your team. Especially since more attacker operators now have frag grenades. Wamai’s guns have better recoil than Jager’s, and his secondary, the Keratos .357 is great for creating murder holes because its powerful enough to easily puncture wooden floors or walls. Another thing that Wamai has that Jager doesn’t are impact grenades, which is always useful for creating rotation holes or escape routes.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • AUG A2 with Red Dot and Compensator
  • Keratos .357 with Suppressor
  • Impact Grenades

Operator strengths:

  • Disabling enemy projectiles
  • Making plays and rotation holes with the impact grenades
  • Stable weapons

Operator weaknesses:

  • Some enemy gadgets can’t be pulled by the Mag-NETS like Hibana’s X-Kairos
  • Full potential can only be reached at the late stages of the match
  • Can compromise own location when throwing out his Mag-NETS

Finka (S-Tier Buffer)

Finka is great to have in any map or in any situation. Especially after the latest update which allows her to activate her adrenal surge while she’s in a down-but-not-out (dbno) state. Having her on the attacking team greatly boosts the attacker team’s offensive and defensive capabilities because her adrenal surge can heal, remove tinnitus (ear ringing effect from grenades), concussion effects from enemy gadgets like Ela’s or Echo’s, greatly reduces the slow effects of barbed wires, lessens the blind effect of stun grenades, and of course, revive a downed ally from any distance.

Her Spear .308 is a great assault rifle with stable recoil. She can also now use the Gonne-6 secondary which can instantly destroy hatches, Castle’s armor panel, or even a bulletproof defender gadget. On top of that, she has frag grenades available to her too.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • SPEAR .308 Assault Rifle with 2.0x Scope, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
  • Gonne-6 Hand cannon
  • Stun Grenades

Operator strengths:

  • Great buffs for the whole team
  • Healing ability
  • Able to revive teammates from any distance

Operator weaknesses:

  • Adrenal surge sound effect can mask sounds from enemies
  • Adrenal surge also makes the screen turn a bit blue, and this can compromise vision a little bit

Thatcher (S-Tier Gadget Disabler)

At least whenever he’s not banned, your attacking team should always have a Thatcher. There’s no situation or map in Siege that Thatcher would be useless, because even if your team doesn't need to do a hard breach, being able to disable other defender gadgets and not just the ones that can prevent a breach is very helpful to the attacker team. And it’s not just his EMP grenades that make him S tier. His AR33 and L85A2 assault rifles are some of the most powerful in the game, and he has a claymore. I can’t stress enough how useful a claymore is in any map. Especially when you’re trying to do a hard breach and there’s a roamer out and about.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • AR33 with 2.5x Scope, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
  • P226 MK 25 with Suppressor
  • Claymore

Operator strengths:

  • Mass gadget disabling
  • Powerful guns
  • Claymore is always a strength

Operator weakness:

  • Throwing the EMP grenades can compromise your own location

Thermite (S-Tier Hard Breacher)

This year 1 operator belongs to the S tier list because among the hard breaching operators, he’s still the best. The very big effing holes that he’s able to make are the best entry holes that any operator can provide, well, for the simple reason that they’re big, really. Ace’s breach most of the time still requires attackers to vault in order to enter, and that time used for vaulting can leave them vulnerable to enemy fire. Hibana’s are even worse. Thermite’s 556xi is also one of the most powerful and stable guns in the game, and his secondary gadgets, whether the players choose to go with the stun or smoke grenades, are just perfect for his role.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • 556XI with 2.5x Scope, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
  • M45 Meusoc with Suppressor
  • Smoke Grenades

Operator strengths:

  • Creation of best big effin’ entry holes
  • Powerful assault rifle

Operator weaknesses:

  • Location is predictable because of role
  • Role is dependent on gadget disablers like Thatcher

Valkyrie (S-Tier Intel Gatherer, Roamer)

Like what was mentioned above, information is king in Siege, especially in the hands of a coordinated team. And when it comes to gathering intel, Vakyrie is the best among the defenders. Her Black Eye cameras are small and hard to notice especially when placed in areas of the map that are hard to see. And while it’s generally better not to ping an enemy so that they will not know that they're being seen, scanning them can sometimes be really great at disrupting their rhythm and make them waste a lot of time trying to find Valk’s camera. A defending team with a Valk main is very hard to defeat.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • MPX with Red Dot, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
  • D-50 with Suppressor
  • Nitro Cell

Operator strengths:

  • Intel gathering
  • C4 under the floor strat
  • Enemy rhythm disruption

Operator weaknesses:

  • Vulnerable while operating her cameras
  • Lack of scopes that can provide higher zoom

Gridlock (S-Tier Anti Roamer, Area Denial, Crowd Control)

Perhaps the most underrated attacker because of her 1 speed rating and her big build making her easier to target. Players shouldn’t sleep on this operator because she’s a great addition to any attacking team. Her Trax Stingers are great for area denial and preventing roamers from owning attackers from behind. She’s also very versatile with her loadouts. The player can choose the F90 or the M249 SAW and either way he wouldn’t be wrong because both guns are great. She also has a shotgun available to her as a secondary which is rare for an attacker. She can use that shotgun for making plays or destroying hatchers for pushing or escaping. Her smoke grenades also complement her Trax Stingers when it comes to pushing.

Operator stats:

  • 3 Armor
  • 1 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • F90 with 2.5x Scope, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip
  • Super Shorty with Laser
  • Smoke Grenades

Operator strengths:

  • Area denial
  • Choke points creation
  • Anti-roamer

Operator weaknesses:

  • Slow movement
  • Big build (big target)

Kaid (S-Tier Anchor, Anti Hard Breach)

Kaid is popularly known as an operator that can prevent reinforced hatches from being breached, and therefore you’d mostly see him being used when the defender's objective area is at the basement. But in many cases, Kaid is even better than Bandit when it comes to preventing a horizontal breach, because his electroclaws can be placed in creative angles that’ll be hard for gadget disablers to reach. One of Kaid’s primaries, the TCSG12 is basically a sniper rifle, even though it’s weirdly classified as a shotgun in the game. And a defending sniper with 3 armor rating is very hard to defeat.

Kaid can also use a nitro cell which can instantly inflict death on his enemies, and if the player chooses too, he can go with the barbed wires which can be electrocuted with the electroclaws, which can damage and slow enemies at the same time.

Operator stats:

  • 3 Armor
  • 1 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • TCSG12 with 2.0x Scope, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip
  • LFP586 with Laser
  • Barbed Wires

Operator strengths:

  • High firepower
  • Heavy armor
  • Breaching cancellation

Operator weaknesses:

  • Slow movement
  • Limited to anchoring

Capitao (S-Tier Area Denial, Front Line)

Capitao’s ability to block defender vision with his smoke bombs and area-deny with his fire bolts is very S tier. Especially in the hands of someone who mains him and is in a coordinated team. He basically has 4 tools that he can use to, in a way, manipulate defender movements. When it comes to pushing and planting, it’s very hard to stop an attacking team with a Capitao. And this reinforces why Jager and Wamai are indispensable. But even with a Wamai or Jager, there are ways for a Capitao player to effectively use his smoke grenades and fire bolts, be it using an angle outside the reach of Jager and Wamai’s gadgets, or waiting for his teammates to disable them first.

Operator stats:

  • 1 Armor
  • 3 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • PARA-308 with 1.5x Scope, Extended Barrel, and Vertical Grip
  • PRB92 with Suppressor
  • Claymore

Operator strengths:

  • Area denial
  • Vision denial
  • Allow his team to push

Operator weaknesses:

  • Can be pretty hard to use for a beginner especially when it comes to bolt switching
  • Weak armor rating

Flores (S-Tier Area Denial, Gadget Disabler)

Speaking of manipulating enemy movements, Flores is one of the best in the game. He can use his exploding drones to do a soft breach on unreinforced walls, hatches, and Castle armor panels. He can also use it to destroy bulletproof gadgets like Maestro’s Evil Eyes, Melusi’ Banshees, or deployable shields. And since it can jump, it can destroy bulletproof cameras too. And in the process gather intel. That alone makes him a great operator, but what makes him S tier is that aside from what was mentioned above, he can use his four exploding drones to flush out enemies from their hiding spots and deny area to them while he and his teammates are pushing. That’s some S tier area denial which is hard to stop.

Operator stats:

  • 2 Armor
  • 2 Speed

Best weapon loadout:

  • AR33 with 1.5x Scope, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
  • GSH-18 with Suppressor
  • Claymore

Operator strengths:

  • Area denial
  • Flushing out enemies
  • Soft breaching
  • Intel gathering

Operator weaknesses:

  • Can be vulnerable while operating his drones
  • Multitasking can be hard and complicated, especially for beginners

A Tier – Very good operators to use. Contributes a lot to the team. Not as great as the S tier ones but close. The roles that they play are great, but other things like their loadouts or armor and speed rating, offsets that.

  • Fuze
  • Maestro
  • Mute
  • Castle
  • Smoke
  • Bandit
  • Sledge
  • Nomad
  • Rook
  • Ash
  • Lesion
  • Buck
  • Ace
  • Tachanka
  • Ying
  • Alibi
  • Thunderbird
  • Iana
  • Lion
  • Melusi
  • Thorn

B Tier - Good operators but indispensable, meaning there are alternatives to them or the team will do just fine even without them.

  • Ela
  • Osa
  • Hibana
  • Maverick
  • Kali
  • Doc
  • Goyo
  • Montagne
  • Zero
  • IQ
  • Clash
  • Echo
  • Twitch
  • Jackal

C Tier – They're not really bad operators, but they’re very situational. A lot of them are also only good in certain maps, and in other maps they’d be outright useless. *cries in Glaz main*

  • Glaz
  • Pulse
  • Caveira
  • Mozie
  • Mira
  • Blackbeard
  • Warden
  • Oryx
  • Vigil
  • Frost
  • Amaru
  • Blitz
  • Nokk
  • Aruni
