[Top 5] Pokemon GO Best Against Psychic

Pokemon GO, best psychic pokemon, best Pokemon 2020, best against psychic
Metagross trounces other Pokemon who use psychic attacks.

The best way to defeat Psychic Pokemon opponents is not to use mind strategies, necessarily, but to use unique types of pocket monsters.

I have read and researched that Psychic Pokemon are typically vulnerable to Bug, Dark, and Ghost Pokemon. I also have all the following Pokemon in my Pokedex. Please read on to find out why these Pokemon would be great to use in battle!

5. Absol (Dark)

Psychic attacks vs. psychic attacks!

Absol is one of my absolute favorite pocket monsters to use in battle, so it makes sense that I include it here. Absol is a rare, dark type Pokemon that uses psychic-type attacks on Pokemon, so it would be useful to use against Psychic Pokemon. Please read below to find out more about Absol!

Why Absol Is Great Against Psychic

  • First, I would use Absol in battle because Psychic Pokemon are vulnerable against Dark Pokemon and Absol is a Dark Pokemon.
  • Also, I have used Absol in Ultra League battles (Max CP per Pokemon 2,500) and it has defeated all three Pokemon before by using Dark Pulse. Absol is also quick and will power up fast.
  • Finally, Absol’s CP (Combat Power) is 2280 and Offense is 246, which would be strong against Psychic type Pokemon.

Pokemon details

  • Absol is a Gen 3 Pokemon that stems from the Hoenn region. Listed as #359 in the Pokedex, Absol is a lone Pokemon that does not evolve.
  • This pocket monster is vulnerable to Bug, Fairy, and Fighting Attacks. Absol is strong against Dark, Ghost, and Psychic attacks.

How to get Absol

  • Absol cannot be evolved from other Pokemon because it is one of a kind.
  • I have two Absol in my Pokedex and both are hatched.
  • It can also be captured by defeat in a Raid Battle.

4. Forretress

Coming out of its shell!

Forretress may not look like a formidable opponent, but it can hold its own in battle. This is a bug and steel dual Pokemon that is strong against all types of attacks except for fire attacks! Read on to find out more about Forretress.

Why Forretress Is Great Against Psychic

  • Forretress is great against all types of Pokemon except for Fire Pokemon. It is rare for a pocket monster to only have one weakness in combat.
  • I would be more likely to leave Forretress to defend a Gym than in combat.
  • This is a great defense Pokemon, with a Defense score of 205. In addition, Forretress has a CP of 2282.

Pokemon details

  • According to the Pokedex, Forretress is known as the Bagworm Pokemon and “Forretress conceals itself inside its hardened steel shell.”
  • Forretress is a Gen 2 Pokemon, listed as #205 in the Pokedex and derives from the Kanto region.
  • This Pokemon is boosted by inclement weather: rain and snow, to be exact.

How to get Forretress

  • The best way to capture Forretress is to evolve 50 Pineco Candy.
  • Forretress is consider rare and has a 15% capture rate. (Rare but not impossible!)
  • Spawn locations include forests, grassy areas, and woodlands.
  • This Pokemon cannot be hatched.

3. Metagross (Steel/Psychic)

Metagross is awesome to use in trainer battles.

Next on the list is Metagross. This is a Steel/Psychic Pokemon that works well in combat, and like Absol, strong against Psychic Pokemon. Apparently, Metagross has four brains, so it should be able to outsmart many other types of Pokemon! Read on to find out more about this intellectual pocket monster!

Why Metagross Is Great Against Psychic

  • Because Metagross is also a Psychic Pokemon as well as a Bug Pokemon, it will do well in battle against psychic attacks!
  • The best movesets for Metagross are Earthquake and Zen Headbutt.
  • Maximum CP for Metagross is 3637 and Offense is 257 with Defense closely behind at 247.  This Pokemon holds up well in battles.

Pokemon details

  • Metagross is also a Gen 3 Pokemon from the Hoenn region and is listed as #376 in the Pokedex.
  • Only weak against Dark, Fire, Ghost, and Ground Attacks. Metagross is strong against all the others!
  • This Pokemon is boosted by snow and wind. (Definitely a wintry Pokemon!)

How to get Metagross

  • Metagross can be evolved with 100 Metang Candy.
  • These Pokemon can also be captured in the wild. (I caught all four of mine in the wild.)
  • Spawn locations include cities and hospitals.

2. Pinsir (Bug)

A Pokemon with a tough outer shell!

Pinsir, also known as the Stag Beetle Pokemon, is the kind of bug I want to have around! This bug type Pokemon is a strong opponent to have except against Flying, Fire, and Rock attacks. According to the Pokedex, “Pinsir is astoundingly strong.” Keep scrolling below to discover why not to use bug repellent on this pocket monster!

Why Pinsir Is Great Against Psychic

  • Best movesets are Bug Bite, Close Combat, and Vise Grip. (Bug Pokemon are supposed to be effective against Psychic Pokemon.)
  • I have used Pinsir in battle and have defeated all three opponents with it!
  • Maximum CP is 2959 and Offense is 238!

Pokemon details

  • Especially strong against Fighting, Grass, and Ground attacks.
  • Pinsir is listed as #127 in the Pokedex.
  • This insect pocket monster is boosted by Rainy weather conditions.

How to get Pinsir

  • Pinsir can be hatched by 5 km eggs.
  • This Pokemon is a lone pocket monster; it cannot be evolved.
  • Spawn locations include parks, meadows, and nature preserves.

1. Persian (Dark)

A wild cat on the attack!

Last but not worst by any means is Persian. This dark type Alola Pokemon is a feline favorite of mine in the Pokemon Universe and is resistant against Dark, Ghost, and Psychic attacks. Read on to find out more about Persian!

Why Persian Is Great Against Psychic

  • As mentioned in the introduction, Persian is resistant against Psychic Attacks and would be resistant to Psychic Pokemon!
  • Maximum CP is 1771; Stamina is 163, Offense is 158, and Defense is 136. (Persian would be a good choice not to round up to full CP and to battle in a Great League (Max CP of 1,500 per Pokemon).
  • Persian is the evolved version of Meowth, who can be a fan favorite and nostalgic with Pokemon GO players!

Pokemon details

  • Best movesets include Foul Play and Scratch.
  • Boosted by Party Cloudy weather conditions. (Kitties usually do not fare well in rain. I would not want to see a drenched Persian!)
  • Persian is the evolved version of Meowth and is listed as #53 in the Pokedex. Both versions are Gen 1 and originate from the Kanto region.

How to get Persian

  • Persian cannot be hatched; it can only be captured in the wild or evolved.
  • Since there really is not catnip in the Pokemon Universe, berries, pokeballs, and evolving 50 Meowth will have to suffice.
  • Spawn locations include residential areas and universities.
