[Top 5] Minecraft Best Enchantments for Bow

Any game worth its salt that includes combat has an option for long-range attacks. In Minecraft, there are multiple different ways to take down an enemy from afar - but the most common is the classic bow and arrow. As one of the easiest weapons to get your hands on and one of the most intuitive to learn and use, the bow reigns supreme as the long-range weapon of choice for most Minecraft fans. Here are five of the best enchantments to give your bow a boost!

5. Power

The Power enchantment is your stock-standard damage booster, generally increasing the assault capabilities of your arrows so you can take enemies out with one shot. Despite its simplicity, this enchantment is a great addition to any bow! It makes a wonderful foundation for a well-rounded weapon.

  • At max level, a critical hit from an arrow enchanted with Power can do 25 hearts of damage.
  • This enchantment is available in four levels of potency.

4. Punch

If an onslaught of opponents is getting just a bit too close, be it creepers, zombies, skeletons, or even other players, this enchantment has your back. The Punch enchantment is the bow equivalent to a sword’s Knockback enchantment, increasing the distance that a hit from one of your arrows can send an enemy flying. Use this enchantment when you want your bow to pack a little more… well, punch!

  • At its best - without commands - Punch can boost your knockback by six full blocks.
  • This enchantment is available in two levels of potency.

3. Flame

This enchantment’s name says it all. There’s very little to explain - with an enchantment named “Flame,” there’s just about nothing else it could be other than the ability to launch blazing arrows at your enemies. You can also use these arrows to light TNT or campfires from a distance!

  • Arrows shot from a bow enchanted with Flame can light mobs on fire, but not trees!
  • This enchantment is available in one level of potency.

2. Mending

I talk about mending pretty much every time I talk about enchantments. I try not to put it at the top of the list, since it’s not specific to any piece of gear - but it's so handy that I can’t not mention it! Mending repairs your tools over time, protecting any other enchantments you’ve spent your hard-earned XP on from disappearing when the tool breaks.

  • Every time you collect an experience point, your bow is repaired for two durability points!
  • This enchantment is available in one level of potency.

1. Infinity

Our number one spot goes to the Infinity enchantment. Every Minecrafter knows it - every Minecrafter craves it. Any time you plug your bow in and click that level 30 enchantment, you’re hoping for Infinity, the enchantment that allows you to shoot endless arrows without spending a single one. All you need is one arrow, and you’re set forever.

  • Instead of carrying stacks of arrows and fearing running out, you just need to carry one arrow in your inventory, and you’ll be able to fire your Infinity bow forever.
  • This enchantment is available in one level of potency.

Now that I’ve built the ultimate bow, I’d better get to target practice. An all-powerful bow is no good if you can’t even hit what you’re aiming at! Accuracy takes practice, but once that energy is spent, it will all be worth it to one-shot creepers from the roof of my house. We’ll see you around… and happy gaming!
