[Top 5] Hearthstone Best Druid Decks For The Current Meta

From bees to trees, Malfurion's got a branch to pick with those that harm nature

Druid has always enjoyed a spot as one of the premier classes in Hearthstone, almost always fielding a deck archetype that competes for the spot of the best deck in the meta.

Even today, that statement stays true as Aggro Druid is far and away one of the best meta decks along with Curse Imp Warlock.

However, other Druid archetypes are no slouches either, as the strength of the class cards is what makes Druid a strong class every expansion. With powerful cards such as Topior, Herald of Nature, and Hadronox, it’s no surprise that there are many different Druid decks in the meta right now. Thus, here are the Top 5 best Druid decks for Hearthstone’s current meta.

5. Prestor Druid

To her credit, the best bodyguard for the king WOULD be a dragon in disguise.

Prestor Druid banks on drawing your Lady Prestor as early as possible to transform your minions into Dragons.

Since Dragon minions often have game-changing effects, there is no need to worry about losing stats. There are even some cases where the discounted cost makes up for the decreased stats, as a 1 mana Raid Boss Onyxia is arguably more impactful than the original 10 mana counterpart.

Lead your flight of cheap yet powerful dragons to unleash chaos against the opponent’s board and secure a victory.

What’s great about this deck:

  • Guaranteed draw: Capture Coldtooth Mine guarantees that you draw Lady Prestor due to how the deck is constructed, improving the deck’s consistency
  • Permanent draw engine: Dew Process not only mills Control decks but also allows you to play multiple cards per turn since this deck mostly has low mana-cost minions
  • Anti-aggro tools: In the first few turns, you can take advantage of your cheap minions to contest the board against aggressive decks while you haven’t drawn Lady Prestor

Cards:

  • 2x (0) Innervate
  • 2x (0) Aquatic Form
  • 2x (1) Vicious Slitherspear

4. Taunt Druid

Hadronox was instilled with a desire to avenge the fallen and reclaim its home from any that dare threaten it

Both Hadronox and Taunt Druid are poking their heads out and looking to make a grand comeback with the new expansion. With fancy new Taunt minions including Sesselie and Death Blossom Whomper in its arsenal, maybe it’s only a matter of time until Control reigns supreme again.

As with all current Control Druid decks, this Taunt Druid starts off by ramping up your mana to outpace your enemy by playing high-cost, high-impact cards. Later on, you can use Hadronox and Hedge Maze’s effect and summon an impenetrable wall of minions to secure your victory.

What’s great about this deck:

  • Hero powers: Malfurion gives you the option to swap for an arguably better hero power once you max out your mana crystals with Wildheart Guff
  • Armor gain: Mo’arge Forgefiend is only one of your many ways to stack armor and defend against big boards such as Curse Imp Warlock’s Rafaam turn
  • Spell discount: All spells can be cast for free when Lady Anacondra is on the board after you cast Celestial Alignment

Cards:

  • 2x (0) Innervate
  • 2x (0) Aquatic Form
  • 2x (2) Moonlit Guidance

3. XL Celestial Dragon Druid

Perhaps it should come as no surprise, then, that the originator of the Dragonfire Potion was a dragon himself.

Essentially a Kazakusan variant of your standard Ramp Druid, this deck favors adding in a few more late-game threats over early stall cards. While the first turns can be rough, Goldshire Gnoll or a very well-timed Spammy Arcanist can turn the tides in your favor at any time.

Come late-game, a victory is all but assured when considering all the win conditions you have at your disposal. If by some miracle your enemy manages to survive against all 4 dragons and Sire Denathrius, the deck of treasures from Kazakusan will definitely seal the deal.

What’s great about this deck:

  • Multiple win conditions: This deck has almost all plausible win conditions including a one-turn kill with Sire Denathrius, token swarming with Topior, and big boards with Miracle Growth
  • Multiple removals: AOE board clear can be achieved with Spammy Arcanist while removing big minions is possible using Insatiable Devourer
  • Card draw: Malygos the Spellweaver adds another layer of card draw, helping to thin out your deck and adding more fuel for Topior summons

Cards:

  • 2x (0) Innervate
  • 2x (0) Aquatic Form
  • 2x (1) Planted Evidence
  • 2x (2) Moonlit Guidance
  • 2x (2) Jerry Rig Carpenter
  • 2x (2) Earthen Scales

2. XL Ramp Druid

Growth and life and happiness and friends.

Who knew that Control Druids would ramp up not only in threats but also in deck size?

Aptly named Ramp Druid, this deck completely skips the early game by gaining crazy amounts of mana crystal thanks to Wild Growth and Widowbloom Seedsman. The experience of seeing your opponent at a measly 4 mana while you are sitting at 10 mana is a pleasure that any control player would be jealous of.

At the center of this archetype’s success is Wildheart Guff, completely changing the way that Control Druid decks are made and played. Thanks to Prince Renathal and Guff's inclusion, a lot more top-heavy cards can be slotted into your deck to ensure that you never lose the late game.

What’s great about this deck:

  • Ramp tools: Moonlit Guidance allows you to effectively double your mana ramping speed if you successfully fetch one of your mana gain cards
  • Infuse-stacking: Topior and Onyxia synergize well with Sire Denathrius since you can generate a lot of tokens that contribute to the Infuse count
  • Tech cards: The 40-slot deck gives you more flexibility to run disruption tools such as Theotar for those pesky combo decks

Cards:

  • 2x (0) Innervate
  • 2x (0) Aquatic Form
  • 2x (1) Planted Evidence
  • 2x (1) Druid of the Reef
  • 2x (1) Dozing Kelpkeeper
  • 2x (2) Moonlit Guidance
  • 2x (2) Jerry Rig Carpenter
  • 2x (2) Earthen Scales
  • 2x (2) Attorney-at-Maw
  • 2x (3) Wild Growth
  • 1x (3) Prince Renathal
  • 1x (3) Brann Bronzebeard
  • 2x (4) Widowbloom Seedsman
  • 1x (5) Wildheart Guff

  • 1x (10) Sire Denathrius
  • 1x (10) Raid Boss Onyxia

1. Aggro Druid

Trogg mine! OUT!

Although falling short of Curse Imp Warlock as the best-performing deck in the meta, Aggro Druid has a distinct advantage against its unnatural nemesis: Deck Cost.

Consisting entirely of Common and Rare cards, this archetype is a beginner’s best friend thanks to being a legend-capable deck while also costing less than a single legendary minion in terms of card dust.

This particular iteration of Aggro Druid takes the brakes off and starts off at full speed. While there are tiny bits of catch-up mechanisms, the winning condition of this deck relies on a turn 3 or 4 “combo turn” using an activated Herald of Nature to overwhelm your opponent with raw stats.

What’s great about this deck:

  • Turn consistency: Heavily skewed mana curve makes your opening hand very consistent and able to exert pressure every game
  • Card draw: Neutral minions such as Peasant and Crooked Cook give this deck an unexpected amount of early card draw to replenish your hand
  • HP buff: Unlike other aggro decks, the board buffs on this deck focus on health buffs, making your minions harder to remove

Cards:

  • 2x (0) Aquatic Form
  • 2x (1) Vicious Slitherspear
  • 2x (1) Sow the Soil
  • 2x (1) Planted Evidence
  • 2x (1) Peasant
  • 2x (1) Living Roots
  • 2x (1) Irondeep Trogg
  • 2x (1) Druid of the Reef
  • 2x (1) Beaming Sidekick
  • 1x (2) Thorngrowth Sentries
  • 1x (2) Power of the Wild
  • 2x (2) Mark of the Wild
  • 2x (2) Jerry Rig Carpenter
  • 2x (2) Crooked Cook
  • 2x (3) Herald of Nature
  • 2x (4) Pride's Fury
