[Top 10] Genshin Impact Best Recovery Food

The very first lesson you learn in genshin impact is how to cook your own food, and it plays a fundamental role in playing your characters, especially when you’re losing HP in the middle of a fight. There are four types of food in genshin impact, Revival food, which revives your dead characters, Recovery food, which increases your HP, Adventurer’s food, which reduces your stamina consumption, and Boosting foods, which boots either your attack or defense.

There are also various ways to obtain these foods, but first of all, you need a recipe. You can collect them in restaurants, or they are given to you, as you level up your Adventurer Rank. Then you collect your ingredients, from various sources of differing rarity, and finally, you can cook them at a nearby fire or restaurant. You can also buy some cooked dishes in restaurants, but nobody is going to want to waste their precious Mora doing that, are they? Not when it’s much better spent on building your characters.

Here is a comprehensive top ten list of the best recovery food, how to obtain them, and also what perks they provide.

10) Apple/ Sunsettia

Once you first step into the world of Genshin Impact, your apple and your sunsettia is going to be your go-to to fuel your characters when they’re in need of HP. This is your basic staple, but once you level up, you’ll find that the HP that they give is close to nothing, and you are going to need much more complicated dishes for your fights. However, it’s in this list because it’s just very basic, and you can find these fruits on any tree, and they cost you 0 mora.

How to acquire:

  • Many fruit trees are in genshin impact, and simply going near them or climbing them will get you your apples and sunsettias. You can also find them when you destroy crates.

Perks:

  • Very easy to find.
  • Zero Cost
  • Restores 300 HP

9) Grilled Tigerfish

Grilled Tigerfish should be your second go-to dish, because it’s just so easy to acquire. If you’re like me and you find catching pigeons tiresome, then fish is your best option because all you need to do is to wade into the nearby body of water. It restores a small amount of HP - its recipe is very basic and easy to get.

How to acquire:

  • Obtain recipe from Wanmin restaurant for 1250 Mora after Adventure Rank 10
  • Recipe - Fish (acquired from fishing or from any body of water), Pepper (can be bought at the goods shop in Monstat or Liyue for 80 Mora)

Perks

  • Restores 10% of Max HP and an additional 1200 HP
  • When Keqing cooks it, you have a chance of creating Survival Grilled fish, which restores 16% HP and 1350 additional HP
  • Easy to find fish in water, and buy pepper

8) Sweet Madame

Ah, the sweet madame, the staple of any adventure in Teyvat. The best part about it is that all its ingredients are free to find and that it restores a good amount of HP, which is always handy in a fight. Fowl, which of course, can be found by killing any bird on your adventures, or from explorations, as well as destroying crates, and sometimes dropped as loot from crates. The next ingredient is sweet flower which can be found in the wild everywhere in Teyvat.

How to acquire:

  • Cooked with fowl, sweet flower
  • Can be purchased from shops

Perks :

  • Easy to find ingredients, zero cost
  • Restores 24% of Max HP and 1500 HP additionally
  • Cooking sweet Madame with Rosaria gives you a chance of getting Dinner of Judgement, which gives you 30% of max HP and an additional 1750 HP.

7) Mushroom Pizza

Mushroom pizza is a cool dish that gives you a good amount of HP, gradually, and the only reason it isn’t higher on this list is because of the ingredients. Not everyone might agree, but the fact that it requires flour, which requires wheat to make, and also cheese, which is made from milk and some time in addition, makes it one of my lesser favorite foods to make in Genshin Impact. Putting together all these ingredients takes time, but once you do, you can reap your rewards splendidly.

How to acquire.

  • Recipe obtainable at precious chest at Stormterror’s lair, or from the quest, “Food from Afar”
  • Ingredients are mushroom, flour, cheese, cabbage.
  • Flour can be made from wheat, and cheese can be made from milk, which can be bought at shops in Liyue and Mondstat.

Perks

  • Restores 30% of Max HP to the selected character. Regenerates 790 HP every 5s for 30s.
  • When Jean cooks Mushroom PIzza, there is a chance of cooking Invigorating PIzza, which restores 34% of Max HP to the selected character and regenerates 980 HP every 5 seconds for 30 seconds
  • Great HP restoration

6) Crystal Shrimp

Crystal Shrimp is one of my favorite foods, because it’s just so easy to cook, and fast, if you’re willing to part with a fair few mora. It’s one of the foods that gives you a percentage of HP and also keeps generating it, but the best part is that it's just fast to cook. Buy rice and shrimp meat from the local food store, get some carrots from springvale, and you’re good to go.

How to acquire:

  • Recipe obtainable from Wanmin restaurant at 2000 mora after AR 20
  • Ingredients: shrimp, rice, carrot

Perks:

  • restores 22% of Max HP and regenerates 470 HP every 5 seconds for 30 seconds.
  • When Xingqiu cooks Crystal Shrimp, there is a chance All Delicacy Parcels will be created instead, which estores 26% of Max HP to the selected character and regenerates 570 HP every 5 seconds for 30 seconds.
  • Fast cooking

5)Mastuake Meat rolls

Mastuake Meat rolls is really one of the best dishes to cook in Genshin Impact, just because it gives your characters a HUGE HP boost after just one dish, so you don’t have to keep selecting several variants of food to use on a character. It’s very easy to make, and it's ingredients are free. The meat can be received from killing animals, and it uses Matsutake Mushroom, which is a little rarer but still found in the wild in Teyvat.

How to acquire:

  • The recipe for Matsutake Meat Rolls is obtainable from Mt. Aocang during the “Custodian of the Clouds” quest.
  • Can also be bought at  Wangshu Inn
  • Ingredients: Mastuake and Raw Meat

Perks

  • restores 24% of Max HP and an additional 1,500 HP to your character.
  • Ingredients are free to acquire
  • HUGE HP boost

4) Tonkastu Ramen

I’ll be honest here, I’ve never made Tonkastu Ramen, since it’s a new dish that was in the 2.2 update, but it looks cool, and it also has some super cool stats. It gives you a massive HP boost. It doesn’t require too many complicated ingredients, and I think it’s a dish worth trying for your characters. Perhaps the only difficult to acquire ingredient would be bamboo shoot, but still it’s available in the wild, so it isn’t too costly.

How to acquire:

  • The recipe for Tonkotsu Ramen is available from Shimura Kanbei in Inazuma City for 5,500 Mora.
  • Ingredients: Raw Meat, Flour, Bamboo Shoot, Bird Egg

Perks

  • restores 34% of Max HP and an additional 1,900 HP
  • Massive HP increase
  • Cheap ingredients

3) Crispy Potato Shrimp Platter

Here’s another super HP boosting food that’s fast to make, and the only drawback ,I would say, is that it requires shrimp, which can be a little costly, but that’s about it. It’s a restorative food that keeps going as you keep fighting which is always cool, when you’re in a long battle. The ingredients are easy to find in crates, in the wild, and the only store-bought ingredient is shrimp, which is relatively cost-effective

How to obtain

  • The recipe for Crispy Potato Shrimp Platter can be bought from Good Hunter for 5,000 Mora after reaching AR 30.
  • Ingredients: Potato, Shrimp, Berry, Mint

Perks

  • Restores 30% of Max HP to the selected character and regenerates 790 HP to your character
  • Easy to find ingredients in the wild
  • Fast to make

 2)Monstat Hash brown

I don’t think there’s any food that’s as simple, efficient and superb as the Mondstat Hash brown. I’ll admit, it might take a while for you to make Jam, but that’s about it. Jam can be made from Berries, Sunsettia, and Sugar. It’s a good dish for those who are in early game, and haven't reached higher Adventure Ranks yet, since you can get the recipe from the Temple of the Wolf. It’s going to be a staple food for you until you reach higher levels of your game.

How to obtain:

  •  The recipe for Mondstadt Hash Brown is obtainable by completing the domain Temple of the Wolf after reaching AR 15.
  • Ingredients: Pinecone, Potato, Jam

Perks

  • restores 34% of Max HP and an additional 1,900 HP to your character
  • When Razor cooks this dish, there’s a chance of getting Puppy Paw Hash brown, which is not only adorable but also restores 40% of Max HP and an additional 2,350 HP to the target character, which is just insane.
  • Basic, easy to get recipe and not costly to make

1) Universal Peace

Universal Peace is my favorite dish in Genshin Impact, since it’s composed of mostly ingredients that are found in the wild and the only ingredient that requires buying is rice, which is not too costly in the first place. It gives you a big HP boost, and it’s so easy to make. It’s great to use on the run when your characters are low on health. All in all, I think it’s the best. There’s always room for disagreement, but Universal Peace does live up to its extravagant name.

How to acquire:

  • bought from Wanimin Restaurant for 5,000 mora after AR 30
  • Ingredients: Rice, Lotus Head, Carrot, Berry

Perks

  • Restores 34% of Max HP and an additional 1,900 HP to your character
  • Huge HP boost with cheap ingredients
  • Fast to make

So here's your comprehensive list of Liyue’s not only mouth-watering but also essential dishes that you can use on your characters when you’re in a jam ( get it? Jam. Nevermind I’ll see myself out). But seriously, any gamer knows that HP boosting stuff is what you need when you’re in the middle of a boss fight or whatever and you don’t want to find yourself doing the thing all over again.

I hope you found the list informative and enjoyable. Fun fact, there are real life recipes to most of these dishes, so if you’re a cook as well as a gamer, then have fun trying out making these in the real world too!
