[Top 10] Genshin Impact Best Anemo Characters

Mind over matter.

Wind is soothing and calm, but it can be devastating when used in combat. Enemies are at your mercy, as this element is the best when it comes to crowd control. Anemo is also known for its benefits when it comes to mobility and mob-slaying spread reactions.

Read along to find out the best anemo characters in the game so far (Patch 4.1). Take note that by “best”, we mean to evaluate the unit as a whole. This includes any effects or buffs that may come with using the character, as units in the game have their own unique quirks.

10. Faruzan

Never get on her bad side.

The researcher lost in time. She is more than a hundred years old and even talks like it, but her looks would tell you otherwise.

Faruzan is a bow user who specializes in shredding enemy resistance and buffing anemo damage. She is the go-to support to have when you’re playing with an anemo DPS. The big drawback with her is that she only really fits well with other anemo units and provides little value when put in other teams.

Her skill allows her to deal AoE anemo damage while putting her in manifest gale state, which allows her next charged attack to pull in enemies hit. This is mostly used to gain energy for her and her fellow anemo units. Her burst summons a polyhedron that jumps around the field to deal anemo damage while debuffing any enemies hit.

What Makes Faruzan Great for Anemo:

  • The best anemo buffer and debuffer in the game.
  • Easy to build as you can stack ATK on her to mainly focus on her buff.
  • Can provide crowd control in a small AoE.

9. Lynette

Has she ever been cut in half?

Every magician has a lovely assistant who graces the stage with them. This next unit is exactly that, as she and her brother always have some tricks up their sleeves.

Lynette is a sword user who excels in mobility and off-field anemo application. She is great for roaming around the open world and she works well with units from other elements.

Her skill grants her enhanced speed as she runs freely around enemies while marking any unfortunate thug before attacking them. This heals her for a decent amount, which offsets the HP that it costs to cast it. Her burst summons a Bogglecat Box that taunts enemies while dealing anemo damage. This stays even with Lynette off the field and is also capable of elemental absorption.

What Makes Lynette Great for Anemo:

  • Is great when it comes to teams with multiple elements, as she also buffs them.
  • Her skill saves a lot of time and energy when traversing the open world.
  • Can serve as a dps at C6 due to elemental infusion.

8. Heizou

No clue will be left unfound.

When crime is about in Inazuma, this detective is ready to take on the case. He is well known for his keen senses and sharp thinking, which makes him an asset to the Tenryou Commission.

Heizou is a catalyst user who employs a melee fighting style. His attacks are fast and always imbued with anemo, making him extremely consistent when it comes to swirl reactions. Pairing him with multiple off-field units is ideal, as his attacks will only make them deadlier.

His skill is just a simple punch, but when charged completely, it can take out most enemies in the game. It’s also useful that you can gain stacks by just causing reactions, so you don’t have to charge up all the way. His burst is also another simple attack in the form of a kick that sends a vacuum slugger to pull in enemies before exploding.

What Makes Heizou Great for Anemo:

  • Can take down enemies with one hit using his fully charged skill.
  • Is extremely consistent when it comes to swirls due to being a catalyst user.
  • Easy to build, as you can stack up either ATK or EM on him.
  • Can boost the EM of his team after using his skill.

7. Sayu

Enjoying the goodness the land has to offer.

A skilled ninja who has mastered the art of infiltration. She holds a lot of potential, if not for her being half-asleep all the time.

Sayu is a claymore user who is arguably the best mobility character in the game while also providing healing and off-field anemo application. She brings a lot of value to her team and is someone you would definitely want to have when exploring the open world.

Her skill allows her to transform into a ball with enhanced speed, where she can freely roam around the battlefield, dealing anemo damage before doing a kick at the end. This is also great for covering long distances when you’re out and about. Her burst summons a Muji-Muji Daruma that can deal off-field anemo damage to enemies while also healing all nearby party members.

What Makes Sayu Great for Anemo:

  • Can roll around the open world making exploration a piece of cake.
  • Her skill can absorb cryo and let you roll over frozen water.
  • Heals teammates and damages enemies with her burst.

6. Jean

You can always count on her!

The revered Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius is a lady worthy of her title. She is one of the best fighters that Mondstadt has to offer, and her leadership is what keeps the entire nation together.

Jean is a sword user who excels at mixing up combat and healing. Her kit has some handy crowd control abilities that can work in her favor as a quick-swap unit. She can also hold her own on the field while still healing allies, as her normal attacks have a chance to heal them.

Her skill summons the power of anemo at the tip of her sword, allowing her to strike enemies and push them away, while the held version has her pulling enemies toward her before casting them away in her desired direction. Her burst creates an AoE around her that instantly heals all her teammates while damaging enemies. This field remains to continuously heal allies while damaging any enemies that leave or enter.

What Makes Jean Great for Anemo:

  • Can throw enemies out of platforms or even into the sea with her skill.
  • Her normal attacks can heal allies.
  • She can instantly heal her entire team with a single cast of her burst.

5. Sucrose

All experiments have their uses.

An alchemist who is pure of heart. She works tirelessly to help improve the lives of her countrymen.

Sucrose is a catalyst user that focuses on crowd control. She is the best 4-star option for taking on large groups of enemies. She is also simple to build, as she only needs EM to excel at her role.

Her skill summons a wind spirit to suck in and launch enemies in an AoE. At C1 this skill even gains an additional charge, which makes it easier to gain energy. Her burst summons a larger wind spirit that deals periodic anemo damage while also pulling and launching enemies.

What Makes Sucrose Great for Anemo:

  • Can manage enemies with both her skill and burst.
  • A great budget-friendly crowd control unit.
  • Easy to build, as you mainly need to stack EM for her.
  • Can buff the EM of her allies.

4. Xiao

You won't like it when he gets serious.

The Conqueror of Demons is a name feared all throughout Liyue. He is the only known living Yaksha, and he aims to serve until the land is cleansed.

Xiao is a polearm user that functions as an on-field DPS. He takes up a lot of time on the field but lays waste to everything as he fights. He would need a healer by his side to help him manage his HP depletion, and having another anemo unit for energy generation is a plus.

His skill allows him to dash forward, dealing damage. This can be cast while he's in the air, and it even comes with two charges. His burst empowers him with the might of the Yaksha, greatly enhancing his jumping ability, attack AoE, and infuses all his attacks with anemo.

What Makes Xiao Great for Anemo:

  • Doesn’t need reactions to deal tons of damage.
  • Skill can be used even when in the air.
  • His burst greatly enhances his own jumping ability.
  • Can greatly buff himself with his burst.

3. Wanderer

Some people never change.

The 8th Fatui Harbinger who has newly reformed himself. He now has a new vision and walks the earth alone.

Wanderer is a catalyst user who focuses on dishing out relentless normal attacks on the field. He has a decent AoE on his attacks and can vanquish enemies even without any reactions. His hover mode makes him one of the best exploration characters, allowing him to fly across water and climb mountains.

His skill allows him to absorb any elements around him before hovering in the sky. In this state, he can freely fly around, and his normal and charged attacks are greatly enhanced. His burst allows him to stomp on his enemies with the might of anemo, dealing tons of damage.

What Makes Wanderer Great for Anemo:

  • His anemo attacks are amazingly consistent due to his kit.
  • He can cast his charged attacks endlessly while hovering.
  • Is the only character in the game who can freely fly around.
  • Can buff himself based on what elements he absorbs through his skill.

2. Venti

One with wind and song.

The Anemo Archon is definitely deserving of a spot on our list. He is one of the gods who survived the archon war, and his true power is masked by his welcoming smile.

Venti is a bow user who has the best crowd control burst in the game. He is one of the most utilized units when it comes to taking down large groups of enemies, and he basically works in almost any team composition. If you’re aiming to beat spiral abyss, you might want to have him on your team for your next run.

His skill summons an upward wind when pressed and creates a wind current when held. This can then be ridden upwards to traverse difficult terrain. His burst summons a giant vortex that sucks in all enemies in the area, dealing lots of damage while also absorbing any element it first touches.

What Makes Venti Great for Anemo:

  • Can generate energy for himself as his burst ends.
  • Skill can create winds that players can ride on. Perfect for traversing difficult terrain.
  • Has one of the best crowd control bursts in the game.
