[Top 15] Games That Are Violent Yet Fun

15 Violent games that are fun
Let’s go fishing they said… what could go wrong they said?

Prepare for a shower of blood

Violence is fun.

Blowing up filling stations, slicing people with chainsaws, throwing body parts to an exuberant audience in a Roman colosseum… I could write an entire essay with millions of examples and reasons to support my beliefs.

But better still, I wrote a list of 15 video games that show how brutality and savagery can put a smile on your face.

Let’s find out if you have limits to your sadism!

15 . State of Emergency (PC / PS2 / Xbox)

Beat ‘em ups tend to be rather violent, that’s a fact. But State of Emergency takes it to a whole new level.

The missions are a mess. Shouts and shots drown the city’s streets. There are lots of people running all over the level, which makes it next to impossible to miss hitting a target.

It’s a simple video game, but fun nonetheless.

14. Naughty Bear (PS3 / Xbox 360)

Who says teddy bears cannot be funny AND violent? If you think otherwise, then you haven’t played this one.

We control the sociopath Naughty Bear who chases, scares, and slashes all his teddy neighbors who didn’t invite him to a party.

What’s funny about the gameplay is that, despite so much killing, you won’t shed a single drop of blood. Nonetheless, you’ll see tons of cotton hemorrhage, so be prepared!

13. Saints Row IV (PC / PS3 / PS4 / Switch / Xbox 360 / Xbox One)

How would it feel to be the president of the United States of America and fight an alien invasion with superpowers and a dubstep gun? Spoiler: it feels awesome!

This bizarre sandbox took all of GTA’s fundamentals but lead them in a brand new direction. The result? A very original, must-play video game.

12. Urban Chaos: Riot Response  (PS2 / Xbox)

Did you know that tasers can set criminals on fire? If you do, then I hope it’s because you have played Urban Chaos: Riot Response and not cause you were trying things you shouldn’t.

Nick Manson is a member of a riot police squad called “Tolerance-Zero”. With that name, you get an idea of how much of a pacifist our good fella Manson is.

He loves riddling terrorists with shotguns and machine guns, but he is open-minded, and also gives a chance to the alternatives: Molotov, butcher knives, chainsaws, and even the police shield.

Whatever it takes to ensure the security of the citizens, right?

11. Maneater (PC / Switch / PS4 / PS5 / Xbox One / Xbox Series X/S)

What’s more violent than a bull shark? A bull shark seeking revenge!

After a baby shark saw the horrible assassination of its mother, it’s time for the creature to avenge her death.

Bite and devour everything that moves. Knock people off their jet skies and eat them alive. Fight against great white sharks, orcas, and alligators in underwater battles.

Show mother nature who’s the biggest predator on the entire Gulf Coast.

10. Borderlands 3 (PC / PS4 / PS5 / Xbox One / Xbox Series S/X)

The fourth entry in the Borderlands series revolves around four Vault Hunters trying to put a stop to twins Troy and Tyreen and their insane cult following.

Shoot and loot as much as you can on Pandora’s surface and other different planets. And of course, you also get a good dose of absurd jokes.

I mean, it’s Borderlands after all!  Were you expecting it to be more serious?

9. Shadow of Rome (PS2)

In the past, gladiator arenas were a source of guaranteed violence. Capcom made sure to honor them in this bloody action adventure.

Controlling Agrippa, we must win a gladiator’s tournament in order to save our father’s life. Needless to say, bloodbaths are bound to occur.

What about tearing your enemy’s arm with a scimitar? Not enough? Then how about hitting your opponent with his own torn-out arm?

It’s the ultimate humiliation.

Also, you can cut them in two with huge axes. After all, the audience loves to see such morbid scenes, so keep them entertained.

8. Dead Rising 2 (PS3 /PS4 / Xbox 360 / Xbox One / PC)

Take Shadow of Rome. Now, change the colosseum with a Vegas-like city, and switch gladiators with zombies. That is pretty much Dead Rising 2

But why fight with regular swords and mazes when you can use a motorbike with two chainsaws on its sides?

Be curious. See what weapons you can craft with your surroundings.

7. Far Cry 3 (PS3 / PS4 / Xbox 360 / Xbox One / PC)

Ahhh, finally your well-earned vacations arrived! Why don’t you go with all your friends and do some skydiving in Bangkok? What could go wrong?

Well, maybe landing on an island full of pirates and being taken as a hostage by leader Vaas Montenegro?

Hey, at least you escaped and got rescued by the natives who are up to the neck with Vaas’ misdeeds. And look! They even gave you guns to save your friends and put an end to the pirates’ domain.

Now all you have to do is avoid dying. Can you do that?

6. Bulletstorm (PC / PS3 / PS4 / Xbox 360 / Xbox One / Switch)

Bulletstorm earned itself a spot on the list not because shooting enemies is violent.

After all, there are hundreds of shooters out there. But Bulletstorm stands out from the rest due to its “skillshots” system.

Skillshots reward you for killing enemies in the most atypical ways possible, each one with a witty and funny name for you to collect them all.

If you are imaginative enough, you’ll probably figure out what “Fire in the Hole” means for this game. If not, then play it and find it out for yourself.

5. Mortal Kombat 11 (PC / Switch / PS4 / PS5 / Xbox One / Xbox Series X/S)

The two key concepts of this top are guaranteed with any Mortal Kombat game: Violence and fun.

Mortal Kombat 11 has detailed fighters with unique and impressive abilities. The fatalities and environmental attacks are grotesque (as always, of course), and the plot of the story mode makes for a richer experience.

However, if all you want to do is beat the hell out of your cousin in a match, that alone will promise satisfactory results.

4. Manhunt 2 (PS2 / PSP / Wii / PC)

This is a really dark chapter in the world of video games. So dark that it was banned in Germany, South Korea, and New Zealand.

In Manhunt 2, we assume the role of Daniel Lamb, a mental patient trying to uncover his past. But uncovering it involves suffocating people with plastic bags, and cutting their throats and eyes with a piece of broken glass.

And that’s just a sample. Trust me, it gets way more disturbing than that.

3. Hitman 3 (PC / Switch / PS4 / PS5 / Xbox One / Xbox Series X/S)

Take environmental deaths from Manhunt 2. Now, boost them up to 10. The result is Hitman 3

You don’t believe me? Then read this.

In a winery, for instance, you can throw your victim into a rotating cylinder that crushes gripes into a pulp. You can throw another one from the highest building in Dubai. And what about letting go of an entire light rig in the middle of a fashion parade in Paris, crushing your victims totally?

Just let your perversive imagination flow. See for yourself what you discover.

2. Postal 2 (PC)

Go to the store, get some milk, and return home. Easy task. But please, please, control the urge to pee on policemen… oh, you’ve already done it… right.

And now you just set the whole gas station on fire…

Postal 2 is the source of black humor your life was begging for. A series of ridiculous missions that lead to an even more ridiculous, but violent aftermath.

Just be sure you are not too sensitive, or you won’t enjoy this one.

1. DOOM Eternal (PC / PS4 / PS5 / Switch / Xbox One / Xbox Series S/X)

Here is a healthy dose of classical violence for you, but with cooler graphics and finer gameplay than any other previous Doom entry in the past.

DOOM Eternal is a detail-oriented videogame. This is because each enemy has a certain weakness, and every weapon has a purpose. The combat flows too well, and the huge amount of gore is simply gorgeously attractive.

A great number of gamers claim DOOM Eternal is the best Doom so far. Do you agree?
