Friday the 13th Best Perks for Each Counselor

Friday the 13th Best Counselor Perks
May I axe you a question?

You already know how it goes. It’s a typical night at Camp Crystal Lake, and Jason is out doing his routine murder spree. With every counselor, comes the need for a goodie bag full of useful perks to help you escape another massacre at Camp Blood and to protect yourself against Jason.

Perks are essential bonuses that players can use for their counselors to enhance their abilities. Each perk is significant in its own special way. Whether it’s an increase in stamina or starting the match with a weapon, this list will provide you with just what you need when it comes to your counselor surviving the night!

14. Eric ‘J. R.’ Lachappa

The nerdy mechanic with a brain bigger than his belly.

  • Composure: 4/10
  • Luck: 5/10
  • Repair: 10/10
  • Speed: 3/10
  • Stamina: 2/10
  • Stealth: 8/10
  • Strength: 3/10

Best perks:

  • Preparedness
  • Marathon
  • Thick Skinned

With a ten in repair and a knack for fixing anything, Preparedness will grant Eric with a large map at the start of the match. However, his sprint speed will decrease, and with a three in speed already, it’s best to choose the Marathon perk to give him a much-needed boost for when Jason is around. Finish it off with Thick Skinned, that way if Eric is hit by Jason, he can take more damage than normal.

13. Sheldon ‘Shelly’ Finkelstein

The try-hard jokester who’s just desperate for a nice girl.

  • Composure: 6/10
  • Luck: 1/10
  • Repair: 5/10
  • Speed: 4/10
  • Stamina: 4/10
  • Stealth: 8/10
  • Strength: 7/10

Best perks:

  • Slugger
  • Swift Attacker
  • Speed Demon

With a horrid luck score, you’ll want to choose Swift Attacker and Slugger so that when Shelly does find and possess a weapon, he stuns Jason effectively. Just to be sure, when his weapon does break, secure him with Speed Demon long enough for him to escape Jason’s sights to find another weapon, and utilize that decent strength score.

12. Mitch Floyd

The laid-back stoner who eats all of your chips.

  • Composure: 9/10
  • Luck: 2/10
  • Repair: 8/10
  • Speed: 3/10
  • Stamina: 4/10
  • Stealth: 6/10
  • Strength: 3/10

Best perks:

  • My Dad’s A Cop
  • Nerves of Steel
  • Home Body

Because of his great scores in composure and repair, supplying Mitch with My Dad’s a Cop is an effective way to help you and your team escape faster. Nerves of Steel will help to reduce fear, and with a low luck score, he’ll need all the help he can get when it comes to being brave. Lastly, slapping him with Home Body will help to prevent him from being spotted by Jason.

11. Deborah Kim

Female Eric, but much, much cuter.

  • Composure: 5/10
  • Luck: 3/10
  • Repair: 10/10
  • Speed: 4/10
  • Stamina: 3/10
  • Stealth: 9/10
  • Strength: 1/10

Best perks:

  • Preparedness
  • Tinker
  • Escape Artist

Like Eric, equipping Deb with Preparedness is an effective way to help her locate the cars and boat on the large map right away. Plus, with her impressive score in repair, Tinker is pretty much a guarantee that she’ll utilize the fastest repairing skills and complete necessary objectives. The cherry on top of this brainiac sundae is Escape Artist, used to aid in Deb escaping from Jason’s grasp much easier, which will be necessary if he finds her fixing something.

10. Kenny Riedell

The middleman and self-proclaimed leader of the counselors.

  • Composure: 5/10
  • Luck: 5/10
  • Repair: 5/10
  • Speed: 5/10
  • Stamina: 5/10
  • Stealth: 5/10
  • Strength: 5/10

Best perks:

  • Level Headed
  • Sneaky
  • Sucker Punch

As a man who’s neither good nor bad at anything, Kenny is a neutral counselor that requires the perfect perks to boost his morale. Kenny is often more useful to players that are just starting in the game and trying to better understand gameplay. Choosing perks like Sneaky and Level Headed will make it easier to hide from Jason’s sense ability and maneuver around the map unseen. Add in Sucker Punch to assist him in stunning Jason, and some magic might even happen.

9. Jenny Myers

Everyone's favorite final girl.

  • Composure: 10/10
  • Luck: 8/10
  • Repair: 2/10
  • Speed: 3/10
  • Stamina: 5/10
  • Stealth: 6/10
  • Strength: 1/10

Best perks:

  • Night Owl
  • Tinker
  • Heavy Hitter

With an insane score of luck, loading up Jenny with Night Owl will allow her to maneuver in the dark without the intense pressure of being afraid. However, her low repair score is worrisome, but can easily be improved by adding the Tinker perk. Lastly, because of her pitiful score of strength, selecting Heavy Hitter will aid her when it comes to stunning Jason with a thick baseball bat long enough for her to hide out from his sense ability. After all, what would everyone’s favorite final girl be without surviving?

8. Tiffany Cox

The girl you wouldn’t take home to mom.

  • Composure: 3/10
  • Luck: 4/10
  • Repair: 1/10
  • Speed: 6/10
  • Stamina: 9/10
  • Stealth: 10/10
  • Strength: 2/10

Best perks:

  • Marathon
  • Restful
  • Nerves of Steel

Tiffany’s list of needed perks is undoubtedly a no-brainer. With her insane stamina and decent speed, supplying her with Marathon is just a bonus guaranteed to give Jason a headache. This will allow her to run all over the map, and if she does happen to get tired, Restful will give her an extra boost of stamina to keep her recharged. Combine those with Nerves of Steel to keep her fear down and focus on a swift escape.

7. Chad Kensington

The spoiled, rich brat who you wish you were friends with growing up.

  • Composure: 1/10
  • Luck: 10/10
  • Repair: 2/10
  • Speed: 9/10
  • Stamina: 4/10
  • Stealth: 6/10
  • Strength: 3/10

Best perks:

  • Heavy Hitter
  • Swift Attacker
  • Evasion

Chad might be a rich jerk, but his insane speed and stealth will have him running Jason all over the map. Plus, with his high luck score, he can collect a bunch of items and weapons that take forever to break. That’s precisely where Heavy Hitter and Swift Attacker come into play, as Chad can utilize both of these to bring the fight to Jason at any corner. Finish it off with Evasion, which provides him a faster-dodging speed in Combat Stance, and Chad will be wheeling everyone out in his lavish limousine.

6. Brandon ‘Buggzy’ Wilson

The strong jock that you hated in high school.

  • Composure: 4/10
  • Luck: 2/10
  • Repair: 1/10
  • Speed: 8/10
  • Stamina: 8/10
  • Stealth: 2/10
  • Strength: 10/10

Best perks:

  • Slugger
  • Heavy Hitter
  • Thrasher

This one is a no-brainer. With the highest score for strength in the game, Buggzy is best equipped with three important perks that will guarantee him a stronger power when it comes to battling Jason and defending his fellow counselors. Slugger and Heavy Hitter will allow that baseball bat to become the most lethal weapon in the game in Buggzy’s hands. Or, select Thrasher and have some fun with an axe. Either way, Jason better watch his back when this jock is around.

5. Victoria Sterling

Female Chad, but less rich.

  • Composure: 4/10
  • Luck: 8/10
  • Repair: 3/10
  • Speed: 4/10
  • Stamina: 7/10
  • Stealth: 7/10
  • Strength: 2/10

Best perks:

  • Swift Attacker
  • Man At Arms
  • Sucker Punch

Much like Chad, and recognized as his female counterpart, Victoria serves as a great defender. Equipping her with Man At Arms will allow her weapons to last longer, which serves as an excellent perk because of her great luck score, making it easier to find weapons on the map. Combine that with both Swift Attacker and Sucker Punch to help her knock Jason around even more, and Victoria will be defending the camp and its counselors all night.

4. Adam Palomino

The cool biker guy that will defend you.

  • Composure: 7/10
  • Luck: 2/10
  • Repair: 6/10
  • Speed: 5/10
  • Stamina: 4/10
  • Stealth: 3/10
  • Strength: 8/10

Best perks:

  • Slugger
  • Thrasher
  • Evasion

Despite appearing as a punk-rock biker bully who would harass you, Adam is quite the opposite. In actuality, he’s one of the best defenders in the game. With a high score of strength, adding Slugger and Thrasher will make Adam an even bigger threat to Jason when he’s got a baseball bat or axe in his hand. Throw in Evasion to give him that float like a butterfly, sting like a bee capability and you’ll be stunning Jason all night long while being the hero.

3. Vanessa Jones

She’s a runner, she’s a track star.

  • Composure: 3/10
  • Luck: 6/10
  • Repair: 2/10
  • Speed: 10/10
  • Stamina: 9/10
  • Stealth: 1/10
  • Strength: 4/10

Best perks:

  • Marathon
  • Light Foot
  • Sneaky

Achieving success with perks as the queen of running is all in the name: she will run, and run and run. With Vanessa’s high scores in speed and stamina, adding Marathon will only increase her fantastic ability, and keep you running from or with Jason all night long. The only issue with her running is that it generates loud, noticeable blips that Jason can detect. To protect yourself, add on Light Foot to keep her quiet as a mouse. Round it up with Sneaky to give her more running power in hiding spots and you’ll be running to the exit gates.

2. Fox

Stealthy like a fox.

  • Composure: 6/10
  • Luck: 3/10
  • Repair: 6/10
  • Speed: 4/10
  • Stamina: 5/10
  • Stealth: 4/10
  • Strength: 7/10

Best perks:

  • Swift Attacker
  • Thick Skinned
  • Medic

Okay, she’s not very stealthy, but her strength and composure are enough to make up for that. Fox is the kind of character that checks a lot of boxes, especially when it comes to bringing the fight to Jason. Load up Fox with Swift Attacker to increase her strength attack no matter what weapon you’ve found for her. Pair that up with Thick Skinned to help her take less damage and Medic to give her extra use with the med-spray, and Fox is as good as golden.

1. A.J. Mason

The true final girl.

  • Composure: 7/10
  • Luck: 1/10
  • Repair: 7/10
  • Speed: 4/10
  • Stamina: 4/10
  • Stealth: 10/10
  • Strength: 2/10

Best perks:

  • Light Foot
  • My Dad’s A Cop
  • Marathon

Last but certainly not least, A.J. is the counselor that will best serve you for surviving the night. With great repair and composure, A.J. can get it all done by herself if need be. To help with her low speed and stamina, slap her with Marathon to have her running all over and utilizing the beautiful stealth score when needed. To better protect yourself, adding Light Foot will allow her to maneuver more quietly without being picked up by Jason’s sense ability. Because of her great repair, finishing her off with My Dad’s A Cop will be smooth sailing for a trip to the exit gates.
