Ey. Yes, you. Have you ever played a video game before that revolved around strategizing your every move? If not, then I shall give you a lengthy list of video games that you might enjoy. Let’s get started with our first, cursed MOBA from hell:
15. Dota 2
“Drink vodka, win dotka” - some Russian guy I played with once, a few years ago. Yes, if you’re playing on EU, you’re gonna play with plenty of Russians on your team. You’ll probably lose because of the language barrier, but there’s always a slim, MICROSCOPIC chance that you’ll win the game and gain that +25!
My favorite hero is Magnus. He’s a mammoth and you can skewer kids and make them be in places that they don’t want to be in. I suggest you to try this game, it’s lovely and painful for your soul!
14. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links
A free-to-play, strategic, weeb, a card game that you will fall in love with if you’re a WEEB! If you’re not a weeb, you still might enjoy playing this game - build your deck, collect new cards and duel some other weeb characters.
The game is pretty quick-paced and you don’t have to worry about lengthy duels, players come up with new metas that everyone else follows, you can also create your own and wreck some kids!
13. World of Tanks Blitz
This one is obviously about tanks, it’s free to play, with purchasable content in the game. It’s surprisingly also pretty old, as it was released in 12th of August, 2010. The game is fun and has a steep learning curve, more and more unlockable content as you progress and a long selection of tanks. It’s a cool game that you might waste your whole life on!
12. Wizard101
An MMORPG, with a leveling system and unlockable regions(for ka-chingas, of course), but besides that, the game is theoretically free. Graphics are not exactly that up to par, but the game is fun and addicting nonetheless. You get to pick 1 out of 7 magic specializations and go on a journey where you’ll collect items and ingredients that will make you even more OP!
11. Fallout Shelter
Welcome to hell. You’ll be in charge of a few survivors and make sure they don’t starve to death or kill each other. Sometimes you might have to travel to the deserted surface to look for supplies. It’s a smart, survival game where you’ll have to make sure your little group of survivors is happy and survive as long as you possibly can. Have fun!
10. RISK: Global Domination
This game is like a poor man’s HOI4. Not to imply that it’s bad, it just looks like a coloring book. You can use diplomacy or more non-diplomatic approaches towards your enemies!
Build your army, conquer weaker countries and eventually take over the world. You can also play with your friends this amazing, strategic game!
9. AdVenture Capitalist
The communist’s worst nightmare. What is this game exactly about? I have no clue and I did 1 minute of research, but from what I’ve found, you’ll be able to start your own business and hire people along the way, invest money and do all the fancy stuff that the capitalists do. This is the perfect game for people who live off of minimum wage and eat ramen noodles on daily basis.
8. WAKFU
An MMO with some RPG elements and top-down, slightly weeb’ish graphics. It’s a perfect game if you’re looking to get addicted to yet another MMORPG for years to come and have your life completely ruined. It’s also a turn-based game, which is just perfect for people like me, who are kinda slow!
7. Magic: The Gathering Arena
It’s like Hearthstone, but slightly worse. Some people love this game, some other people don’t - what’s important, is that this game is F2P and strategic. Build your own deck and face your opponents, come up with your own deck or follow the meta and have countless hours of fun!
6. AirMech Strike
Action-packed RTS, with the possibility of playing with your buddies. Develop your army and make it stronger till you become unbeatable, controls are pretty decent and you can also plug in your controller if you think that keyboards suck.
The gameplay is similar to that of in DotA, you can customize your army(so it looks cooler) and invent your own strategies.
5. Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle
With the name of the game, you’d think that this game would be scary, instead, some group of people decided to make a puzzle game out of this genre. And you know what? It surprisingly worked out - you’ll play on over a hundred levels and slay innocent people as Jason from forests to even space stations! It’s simple and logical, also fun to play!
4. Art of War: Red Tides
Pick your favorite race and engage in combat with other armies. You have around 12 seconds to prepare your battle move, the primary goal is to destroy the enemy turrets(3 in total) and eventually destroy the base. This is a multiplayer game, kinda similar to a MOBA game and it can be played on PC and mobile phones.
The game requires sophisticated thinking and inventing your own strategies - it’s pretty cool and fun to play!
3. Battle for Wesnoth
A fantasy game with turn-based gameplay. What I love about this game is the world itself, it’s filled with different terrains and it reminds me of the good old times when I’d play Tibia as a seven-year-old. You can play this game both in single-player and multiplayer and play countless campaigns that will immerse you in the world of Wesnoth. Become a mage and save the world today!
2. Hades' Star
A fancy game that takes place in a galaxy, with a large sum of players to battle with. If you’re worrying whether you have to pay for this game, worry not, as this is a F2P with little meaning put to P2W. The game lets you build your space empire and lets you colonize other planets, create new trading routes and discover new alien ships and sometimes battle other players - cool game, worth your time!
1. Hearthstone
I know Hearthstone. I played this game for a long time and many keyboards of mine were KIA when I was being punished for making decent plays, getting top-decked with Pyroblasts, and perfect curves from my opponents. Of course, 1 out 5 games would result in me winning and that was a pure delight - and that’s why this game is worth your time.
Create your decks that might consist of pirates, murlocs, quillboars, dragons, and other creatures. You can make a late-game deck or a rush-deck, but make sure the cards synergize together so that the chances of you winning the game is at least above average. You can also spend your real money on card packs and make everyone babyrage!
