The roles in Dota are ranked according to their farm priority, meaning the carry player is Position 1, as he has the means to farm and carry the team in the late game. The carry player is often seen farming in the early game, even if his team is fighting as he does not have the means to deal immense damage, which may cost him time and even his life. So most Pos 1 players can’t help but farm until they hit their item timings. 

We bring you the Best 10 Pos 1 Heroes in the current meta, these carry heroes wreck hard and have various different tools to deal damage or to escape lethal spells. These heroes are ruthless and unforgiving and are guaranteed to work in your pub games.

10. Ursa

With the new update, Ursa can rip through pretty much any hero in the game, this is due to the ferocious nerfs that IceFrog bestowed on him! Ursa does not require many items to come online, but once he has all he needs, he can be a deadly and unstoppable force! Most heroes cannot withstand the force of Ursa in the late game! An early Aegis and BKB seal the deal for Ursa! He s more level dependent as his levels assist him in dishing more damage. 

Why is Ursa a great Pos 1 hero? 

  • Earthshock helps him in farming and shoving enemies out of the lane.
  • Massive physical damage that rips through enemy armor
  • All you need is a Morbid Mask to jungle or secure Aegis or even sustain yourself in the lane.

9. Razor

The electrifying rage of Razor is quite unmatched in the new meta. Most melee heroes do not fare well versus this beast, this includes a lot of carry heroes as well. Having high movement speed and AoE damage ensures that his foes do not escape alive! Razor can also out farm most enemy carries, giving him the upper hand. Razor quickly snowballs in under 15 mins with the right items. His high movespeed can prove to be fatal against slow enemies right from the early game.

8. Lycan

Lycan is a menacing shapeshifter who possesses the abilities of mass destruction. Lycan has various tools that help him farm and sustain in the lane and gank and be on the offensive side if needed. He can summon wolves to help him farm, split push, and howl that reduce armor. His ultimate, the Shapeshift is the selling point of him, allowing him to turn into a wolf and destroy the lives of his foes by dealing double the damage and being twice as fast.

7. Weaver

Weaver is a great ranged hero as he can also escape the clutches of his enemies hence faring well in the laning phase. Shukuchi is a lifesaver and can be used to harass enemies as well. 6. Slark

This lethal creature of the deep sea knows no bounds! Slark is one of the stealthiest and deadly carry heroes in the game. His lethal skills make him quite popular in the current meta. Diffusal Blade makes him immensely strong as it causes his foes to lose mana quickly. He can also purge off enemy spells, allowing him to chase them effortlessly. Slark also farms faster compared to his counterparts and is capable of dodging spells.

This charismatic warrior has a bone to pick against the mages. His hatred for the arcane arts is unmatchable. He is the Anti-Mage! He has what you need to counter most mage heroes, mana break! An early game AM can effortlessly decimate his enemies' mana and make him buy mangoes or Soul Ring to compensate. This will slow down their farm while AM is known to farm at a faster pace, allowing him to get ahead in the net worth charts. If he hits his right timings, there is no way you can counter him easily.

  • Blink allows him to escape and farm quickly.
  • Mana Break is exceptional against magic and INT heroes

4. Chaos Knight

Chaos ensues when this veteran of the countless battle of a thousand worlds steps his foot into the battlefield. Chaos Knight is unbearably strong against most heroes due to the lack of AoE damage from them, allowing his phantasms to freely do the job and get some heavy-hitting done. Although he lacks in the farming department, CK is extremely tanky and is only threatened by multiple heroes at once. All he needs is a good early game and free farm to counter his counterparts in the late game!

3. Juggernaut

Juggernaut is a masked Samurai that is better left untamed. It is impossible to contain him if he unleashes his true potential. Juggernaut is considered to be a beginner-friendly hero but only the advanced players understand the true potential and mechanics of this hero. Not only is he great at farming, but he can also control the tempo with his ultimate. He is also known as one of the most flexible heroes in the game in terms of item builds, which explains his pick rate.
