Dota 2 Best Jungle heroes
Welcome to the Jungle! There are neutral camps and safety!

Which Are The Best Jungler Heroes in Dota 2?

Welcome to the Jungle! There are neutral camps and safety!

Are you having a tough lane or dominating your lane to a point that your enemies stopped laning? In both cases, jungling can be a good option to free up a lane for your supports to farm.

Jungling is also a bit more safer than laning as you will be off the map and the enemy will need to spend more resources to gank you!

Unfortunately, jungling from level 1 is quite hard these days, there were heroes that could jungle from level 1 like Enigma and Chen but even they cannot do that anymore.

Do not fret though, even though you cannot effectively jungle from level 1, you can always switch to jungle after getting to a certain level and farm as fast as you would be farming in a lane!

Of course, there are some heroes that can do this better than the rest, and we will be taking a look at them today!

10. Wraith King

Ostarion, the Wraith King in a scary looking set from his wardrobe.

The king reigns both on the lanes and the jungle! If you are not against any heroes that can drain mana like Lion or Anti-Mage, Wraith King is a pretty safe carry pick. His ultimate is basically and Aegis of the Immortal for Roshan’s sake!

What makes Wraith King a good jungler?

The main reason this bad boy can jungle faster and better than the rest is because of his 2 beasty passive spells.

  • One of these auras is called “Vampiric Aura” which provides Wraith King and his melee allies with lifesteal and some damage bonus. The very two things that are essential to safely jungle combined in a single aura!

Normally, the Vampiric Aura could be enough by itself to effectively jungle but the King has a second spell to make things even smoother.

  • Mortal Strike allows Wraith King to crit and also enables him to spawn skeletons that will fight for him! These skeletons can be used to tank creeps and you can save some face in case your presence is needed in a team fight.

Ability Details

Vampiric Aura

  • Provides Attack Damage Bonus: 6/12/18/24 and Lifesteal: 6%/12%/18%/24%
  • Radius: 1200

Mortal Strike

9. Anti-Mage

Magina, the Anti-Mage. Ready to put an end to all magic.

In order to jungle proactively, this hero needs a rather expensive item called Battlefury.  This itemenables Anti-Mage to farm faster and also split push.

What makes Anti-Mage a good jungler?

The simple answer to this is because he can blink. After getting his Battlefury Anti-Mage starts jumping from camp to camp and farms in a really fast fashion.

Battlefury gives him the health and mana regeneration he needs and also lets him cleave.

Ability Details

Blink

This ability allows Anti-Mage to blink/flash.

  • Maximum Blink Distance: 925/1000/1075/1150

8. Slark

Slark, the Nightcrawler. Posing for Naga Siren.

Did you happen to win your lane against this slicky little bugger? He has no items, he surely cannot come back from this, right?

Well, sadly, he can. As soon as Slark hits level 6, he becomes one of the fastest junglers in the game. Does not matter what happens in his lane, if his team can hold its own, the cheeky little fish can comeback from the worst of starts.

What makes him a good jungler?

  • Slark already has an aoe nuke as his first spell, called Dark Pact.
  • The only thing he lacks till level 6 to clear camps is health regen. And he gets that when he unlocks his ultimate, which provides him a nice amount of health regeneration as long as he is out of enemy vision.

The vision part also turns him into a walking ward detector and you can always know whether you are safe farming in that enemy jungle camp!

Ability Details

Dark Pact

  • Damages nearby enemies by: 75/150/225/300
  • Effect Delay: 1.5 seconds

Shadow Dance

7. Shadow Fiend

Nevermore, the Shadow Fiend, reaching for the last soul on the table.

An all time middle lane favorite. Just like the guy above, even if this fellow loses his lane, with some supports who were nice enough to stack for him, he can bounce right back up.

What makes Shadow Fiend a good jungler?

  • The main reason is that he does not only pack one nuke ability, not even two, he has 3 nukes that he can use back to back. This makes him the “Clearer of Stacks.”
  • He can also use his nuke to shove up lanes and clear jungle camps without losing anything in the lane.
  • He also has an ability, which lets him store the souls of units that he kills, these souls give him extra Attack Damage.

Ability Details

  • Each soul gives Shadow Fiend 2 Attack Damage.

6. Axe

Mogul Khan, the Axe. Portrayed in a fierceful battle.

One of the manliest heroes in the game, he can man fight anything apart from Roshan! This red lad usually builds a Vanguard or Tranquil Boots to get that extra bit of health regen.

If he has a hard laning stage, he may also struggle in the jungle as Axe really needs some health regen to easily clear multiple camps in a row.

What makes Axe a good jungler?

Apart from being beefy Axe’s secret weapon is:

  • His Counter Helix ability which allows him to literally spin and deal aoe damage. This passive ability only gets procced when Axe gets attacked.

Ability Details

Counter Helix

  • Procs with a 17%/18%/19%/20% chance.
  • Damages nearby units by  60/100/140/180.

5. Meepo

Meepo, the Geomancer in a family gathering.

Playing this hero is hard. And I mean, really hard. If you are like me and lose track of your hero in some messy team fights, imagine having up to 5 heroes!

What makes Meepo a good jungler?

Well as you may have guessed, this hero brings extra manpower to the table. He does not create illusions though, he creates “clones”.

  • Meepo also has a decent nuke which can be cast by all the clones.
  • With enough sustainability, meepo can clear multiple camps at the same time and also stay in a lane!
  • His third ability provides him a small bit of health steal so he can stay longer in the jungle.

Ability Details

Poof

  • After a short cast delay casting Meepo deals  70/90/110/130 damage around him.

Ransack

  • With each attack Meepo steals 6/10/14/18 health from heroes and 4/6/8/10 health from creeps, the stolen amount of health heals Meepo at the same time.

  • Each point in this ability allows Meepo to have 1/2/3 clones.
  • Aghanim’s Scepter increases the amount of clones respectively for each level:  2/3/4.

3. Tiny

Tiny, the Stone Giant's evolution chart.

This fellow ages 30+ years every game thanks to his ultimate, but his ulti is not the main reason why he is decent in the jungle.

He has this one ability that even puts his nukes into shame.

What makes Tiny a good jungler?

Tiny has 2 nukes that allows him to clear camps quickly but he also has mana problems, So, if he is actively laning, using his nukes to clear camp is mostly less than ideal for him. That’s where his 3rd ability comes into play.

Ability Details

Tree Grab

This ability allows Tiny to grab a nearby tree and use it as a weapon. This lets Tiny cleave and deal extra damage to all units.

1. Bloodseeker

Strygwyr, the Bloodseeker daring you to pronounce his name.

Feasting on his enemies’ blood, this blood obsessed speedy Gonzales also performs well in the jungle due to being able to heal himself.

As you may have guessed it, self sustain is the name of the game when it comes down to jungling.

What makes Bloodseeker a good jungler?

  • He has an all in one spell which amplifies his outgoing damage and also gives himself sustain.
  • Even though this spell also increases the amount of damage he takes, the sustain makes up for it.
  • This heal is based on the maximum health of the dying unit.
