[Top 10] D&D Best Dice Sets

D&D Best Dice Sets
This is a common sight for any Tabletop RPG group. Especially when there's a "dice goblin" or "dice dragon" around.

[Top 10] D&D Best Dice Sets

I love dice. I may not be a “Dice Dragon”, but I certainly enjoy the little pieces of plastic that make a pretty click-clack sound, and would happily play an in-person game of D&D if it meant I could pick some up, then roll mountains of beautiful dice when I roll my dragons breath weapon instead of having an online program lag out because I want it to simulate each die, and this list holds the dice that I think I would love if that were to happen.

10. Spirit of the Galaxy

Translucent Dice with streaks of color and glitter reminiscent of stars and the clouds of dust and gas you find floating in space. The numbers are white.

If you wanted to cast Moonbeam, travel through the stars, channel cosmic energy, or just play a mystical character when the DM asks you to make the roll, then this could be a dice set that is out-of-this-world when it comes to dealing maximum damage.

9. Elven Glow in the Dark

Imagine the One Ring from Lord of the Rings engraved in obsidian, and glows green in the dark. That's an idea of what these dice look like. The numbers are pretty much the same style.

Oh boy. I look at these and immediately see a Gloomstalker Ranger, a Pact of the Great Old One Warlock, or some other similar spellcaster using mostly acid or poison damage. But even if you don’t play those, you still got some kick-butt dice that really become incredible when the lights go out. And as a cherry on top, they shouldn’t be too difficult to find when they “disappear” at your friend’s house.

8. Red and Gold Gears

These dice have red faces with gold numbers, edges, and gears.

Ok, these dice are just begging to be an Artificer’s best friend, or used inside the clockwork plane of Mechanus or some other steampunk-themed place. And they’re metal so you can get a metallic click-clack sound instead of a plastic one.

7. Dichroic Prism Glass

The dice are clear and colorful in the light, and have gold numbers painted on.

Now here’s something that many “Dice Dragons” will treasure in their hoards and never let out of their sight. They may look like transparent dice, but when they start to roll, that’s when they really dazzle. And if the d20 “respects” you, this is the perfect set for any time you don’t have the right dice for the situation.

6. Arcane Fire

These are pink dice with a lot of glitter, and a bit of gold leaf inside. The numbers are white.

If your campaign takes you into the astral plane, I hope you didn’t leave this set at home because this is probably the go-to dice set for such a mystical place. Maybe it’s a lot of glitter for some, but then again these aren’t little packages that are going to explode on you.

5. Black and Red Dragon

The dice are black with Red dragons and numbers.

Look at those dragons. Now I run games a lot for my groups, and to me, these just scream “We are DM dice. We want to challenge some players!” and I can hear them loud and clear. But I can also see myself rolling these for a Dragonborn character or dragon companion I have.

4. Dwarven Beige

Each die is beige with black engravings with weapons on pretty much every die. The numbers are beige

If you have any martial characters, this is a set to look at because can you imagine rolling Battleaxe damage on that d12, or getting a critical hit with your longsword on that d20? Because I sure can.

3. Metallic Green

They have Silver Edges and numbers with green faces

I don’t know about you, but I really like the green on metal aesthetic these dice have. I would definitely put these on a ranger if I were to roll one up. By small and simple rolls are great adventures brought to pass.

2. Bloodstone Gemstone

These dice are a mixture of grey, grey-green, and red and have gold numbers.

If I were to pit my players up against undead or play a necromancer with undead minions, this would be my choice of dice for my army of undead soldiers. Just look at those textures. And a great font goes a long way.

1. Wild Magic

These dice are swirled with orange, and blue with white numbers.

I don’t know about you, but this is a dice pattern I can get behind. If I had several sets of general use dice, I would want to add this set for sure. And if you needed a special set for a spell caster who does a lot of earth and water manipulation, this would look nice for it.

At the end of this list, I’m feeling in the mood for more dice. I don’t know about you, but I really want to get some fancy dice now. I hope that in the end, this list made you want to get some new dice as it certainly has for me. But with online being my only current way to play, I’ll have to find another way to satisfy my dice craving. I hope you continue to roll well, and good luck on your next adventures.
