Your people have come together, and founded a new settlement in a lush new land. A city is formed, and a civilization is born. Sid Meier's Civilization returns on its fifth main iteration. Choosing from one of over a dozen different historical civilizations, players now build cities, economies and militaries to expand and protect their empires, guiding the progress of their civilization from primitive times and into the modern age.

Civilization V makes players the hand of destiny that guides gargantuan empires from the beginning of time, to the very end of history, journeying from swords and axes, into assault guns and artillery, playing a game of war, or peace.

Of all the Civilization games in the franchise, I'd have to first recommend Civilization V for the blend of polished features and customization that come together to make for a video game that you can poor hundreds of hours into. With 8,466 mods currently available in CiV's Steam Workshop, there's beyond enough content to keep you enjoying it for years to come, even with it coming up to its 8 year anniversary since the base game's release on September 21.

This game is one the best that I have ever played. I collectively have over 450 hours played within this game. I know all of the nooks and crannies of this game. I love to take over empires and I usually have an abundance of gold and lack in culture. Overall this is a great game for the casual and competitive gamer but it definitely has a certain target group and that might not be you. I most certainly reccomend this to anyone who like strategy games.

Do you want to argue with Julius Caesar over trading cotton and silk for gold? Do you want to befriend Catherine the Great only for her to attempt to conquer you? This is the game for fans of simulation, strategy, and gorgeous graphics. Build an empire to last the ages!

The moment you enter the game setup screen and look at all the options, you are hooked. The unique characteristics of every nation available captures the zeitgeist perfectly creating a turn-based roller-coaster that suits both the casual and the hardcore gamer. Every single turn makes you calculate your best course of action keeping you engaged for hours.

Sid Meiers Civilization is one of the most acclaimed RTS franchises of all time, and the latest addition will have you locked to your seat for hours. Improving on accessibility, it provides an experience that new, and existing players of the series, will both thoroughly enjoy. 8/10.

Sid Meier continues to improve upon his acclaimed Civilization franchise in its fifth installment. Choose from dozens of nations each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses and forge a dynasty that will move from the most basic of feats to literally reaching for the stars.

The expectation for this game where very high especially from experienced gamers like me. But with the fifth installment those expectation where widely rewarded. The developers worked hard with the community to bring a new and highly addictive game. Better and more aggressive AI, combined with great graphics will keep you glued to your computer for many hours. After sitting in front of your computer staring at your empire you will start saying to yourself: "Just one more turn."
